We recently did glue down LVP. Love it so much. We have bow on our glow that was too significant to fill in so hard wood wasn’t an option. This glue down is beautiful. We had them install two colors. One main color and staggered in a second color for a very custom look.
In a basement application, in the event of water (say, hot water heater let's go), what's your recourse for the glue down? Loose lay you can take up and dry both the top surface and underneath, correct? What happens with glue down? Presumably you'd still have water trapped underneath but with no way to easily pick it up and dry? If wet due to a failure like this, is there any risk of the glue failing? Or seeping up through seams (something I've read some complaining about).
Many of them have recently been approved for glue down instillation. However not all of them. And your defeating the purpose of a click lock floor by gluing it down. The benefit of a product designed for glue down still exists. One of the major advantages being the cost of the product vs a comparable quantity for click flooring.

Can glue down go on top of existing engineered wood floor?
when you say glue down...do you mean loose lay with minimal glue at edges or applying glue to each LV tile/plank....
Hey Mike! We are referring to covering the entire prepped floor with adhesive.
