Originally this video was meant to be for the new travel channel, however given how much photography there is here, it made more sense to go here. I guess it's more difficult to separate travel and photography than I thought ha.
Also I said the word fantastic way too much in this video.. not sure where that's come from. Must have been the drugs.

    Thanks for this nice video!
I went to slovenia (Ljubljana) in september as well for an business trip. (But it looks like i was there before you beacause I had nice weather the whole week :D) I took some days off since it was my first time there. Really enjoyed it - beautiful country and lovely people.
Most of the time was in the northern-east region. Luckily, I was there by car. So I was able to visit a lot of nice places in the mountains.
Lake Bled was awesome of course.
Some more things i can recommend:
    - waterfalls (like Slap Peričnik, Slap Boka or Slap Kozjak)
    - river Soca with its nature and adventures
    - Blejski vintgar
    - Kransja gora and Jezero Jasna
    - Velika planina
    - Just for photography: The Church of St. Primož/Felicijan and Cerkev Sv. Tomaž

You did my city/country justice! The entire country is extremely picturesque. For instance, I really like the contrast between Tuscany-like Goriška Brda, and the mystic plains of Prekmurje. And this is only scratching the surface.

@@snapsbyfox If you're close, as a landscape photographer, you should go move from ''Ljubljana'' down to one of the furthest points of Croatias coast line, the town of ''Dubrovnik!'' It's a famous route/tour for bikers and hides endless ''hidden gem'' landscape shot opportunities throughout the entire route down!
In case you or someone here plans on going, here's the roughly estimated route; Starting from ''Ljubljana, Slovenia'' and going through ''Snežnik, Slovenia,'' then following through to ''Risnjak, Croatia,'' from where you start moving east towards ''Veljun,'' after which you start moving down south towards ''Plitvička Jezera,'' then start moving west towards the town of ''Gospić'' and the ''Velebit Mountain,'' which then, after reaching ''Velebit Mountain,'' you start moving through the mountain roads down south towards ''Nacionalni Park Paklenica'' and then follow through the old mountain roads towards ''Kudin Most na Krupi,'' where you start moving east towards ''Dinara Mountain,'' then south to the ''Cetina River Spring,'' after which you move further south, down to the town of ''Sinj'' from the eastern side of lake ''Peruća'' alongside of mount ''Dinara,'' then when you reach the town of ''Sinj'' you start moving towards ''Omiš.'' Once you get to ''Omiš,'' you follow the main coast line road down to the town of ''Makarska'' from where you keep following the coastline road all the way down to the village of ''Komarna'' where you follow down any of the roads, towards the town of ''Dubrovnik.''

Next time you're out rowing, try slowing down quite a bit compared to this. Look at the water and feel the feedback in the oars and try to find the sweet spot where you spend as much as possible on moving the boat forward and as little on stirring up the water. You'll be both more energy efficient and have a more pleasant experience. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.

Great video of my hometown and its surroundings! If I knew you were visiting I'd give you a tour of the lesser-known spots and buy you a coffee (for less than 4€). I need to add to the weather situation that there is not all sunshine and rain with nothing in between. There are long periods of fog in the autumn, mornings and evenings, sometimes even a whole day, because Ljubljana is located in a basin area.

Awesome photos and glad you enjoyed yourself.
One thing I love about taking photos in the wider Ljubljana center is the fact that it's closed to car traffic apart from essential services.
If I had a penny for every time I cursed under my breath while taking photos in London streets because it's almost impossible to get a scene without cars littering the streets left, right and center I'd have a few pounds at least by now.
I know there are other cities in Europe at least with s similar arrangement and it would be really great if London followed suit with some of the more prominent areas.

Hello! I really loved the photography you did in our country, I really liked all the posts you made on instagram while you were here in Slovenia. I think I said in one of your previous videos that next time if you visit you could also go check out the other regions of Slovenia that are a bit more north and east as there is a lot of beautiful culture and cuisines there to try as well as good locations to take photos of course :) The only thing I wished you did in this video was not to mention just Ljubljana because you also showed clips from lake Bled and if I remember correctly you also visited Lake Bohinj and Piran and those locations are not Ljubljana they are somewhere completely else in Slovenia (it’s kinda like if you would say I went to London and you showed clips from Leicester or Manchester). What I’m trying to say is those places are all beautiful and deserve to be acknowledged separately, because someone might think Ljubljana has this lake with an island in the middle of it but no Ljubljana is just a regular capital city which in it self is also beautiful and you captured that beauty very amazingly :) Maybe instead of saying what Ljubljana has to offer you could of just said what Slovenia has to offer.

do you ever feel that, regardless of location, you're just taking the same pictures over and over again - albeit with changes in "local colour" ?

    • @snapsbyfox
      @snapsbyfox  Рік тому

Yes and no… There are a certain type of ‘household’ shots i go for regardless of where I am. That’s because I like that style and all i am doing is repeating my style in different environments and as you say introducing the local colour… to me that’s the best bit. However i do always try to broaden my horizons. for the next few years is more on travel photography and not street, so that will creep in now and again too.
