Halo 5 customs is on PC already and is capable of more than 60fps with mods. If modders can do that in their sparetime, i dont see why 343 has to do "insanely massive amounts of work" to get the game run on PC with more than 60fps
Models generally do these things in a way that is less stable and more buggy. Fine if you chose to add the mod, but not acceptable for the base paid product.
Porting it is not as easy as you think it is, Halo 5 Forge PC is not optimized for our current modern PC hardware. Massive frame drops still easily happen when playing on it, lots of work would need to be done to bring it up to polish.
If they can properly port it to PC I’d play it. I didn’t mind Halo 5 after doing a little research on the lore that wasn’t in the games. I just didn’t like playing as Locke for most of it

I really hope it isn't a battle royale. That is the last thing _Halo_ needs right now. I really hope we get a spin-off game, preferably one that lets us play as Elites. I've been playing a lot of _Halo 2_ campaign lately, I'd forgotten how much fun it was to play as the Arbiter, and would love to do so again in a new game. Also, if they were to have a new multiplayer game that was Elites only, that would eliminate the need to balance Elites Vs. Spartans.
Unfortunately 343i hates anything that isn't a spartan IV, so having playable elites is out of the picture, let alone an entire game focused on elites. As for the battle royale, in order for Microsoft to repay their $70M debt from purchasing those new studios, they need to force in more chased trends and macrotransactions to appeal to the lowest common denominator, so it's almost guaranteed that the next halo game will be a battle royale, mobile game, or both.
Honestly, even if they don't announce a new Halo game, a port of 5 on PC would also be amazing. The multiplayer was great, and some more players would be awesome

However, Playstation is making some reallllly stupid decisions lately with Helldivers 2 and Ghost of Tsushima. If Halo went to PS, I hope PS Microsoft would be able to keep PS in line. Does anyone remember the live action trailer for Halo ODST? I've always wanted a battle Royale, just like that. Where you can start in a Covenant or human ship above the planet. Choose your loadout and then drop in. That's what halo universe needs.
I would like to see a Halo spinoff about all of those events that happend while Master Chief was in space and The Banished was dominated the war against UNSC( i dunno maybe spartan Locke story, or Buck, Jun, commander Agryna, Palmer, Dihn and Eklund`s story or a storyline of all new characther)
The mobile choice seems like the most realistic option. Considering Microsoft talks and the huge amount of mobile players it seems like a realistic choice they would make. Whether its some type of RTS or MOBA inspired game i can see it happening. As much as i wish for standalone spin off game or spin off multiplayer game i feel it wont be as good of news as we hope.

Microsoft, just don't keep firing dev teams for nothing. Let them work, don't worry about spending benefits for time working there. Just let them take their time for *Halo 7* to be the franchise's revival point. Infinite showed the path you should follow in history. Be creative and make Endless worth it. Show our allies that they are alive and that will make Halo alive. I don't want to have to always resort to going back to MCC and reliving the classics. They're great, but I want to be proud of this time

I want the next halo game to continue infinites story but throw in a lil twist, the twist is the Spirit of fire appears and offers support to help find infinity and the crew, and another twist could be we can team up with red team and have another squad based type deal kinda like halo 5. I think this would work nice both online co-op and split screen cuz other players could play as Jerome,Douglas and Alice except for having 4 chiefs running around. This can also help bring some if not a lot of halo wars vehicles too since the SoF arrived.
What i would really love is if they brought back the MIA Spartans from the reach comics (like James 005 and a few others) in a reach-esque campaign that has your own spartan as its main character (and this story would take place after the events of halo infinite, except your character doesn't die at the end because obviously this would be less depressing than Reach). Basically just halo infinite but better campaign (and hopefully some new armor redesigns from Halo 4 & 5 to go with the ones we have already that would presumably be in said game, just as an extra choice for everyone to enjoy) (also no microtransactions, i would like it if this game was actually fun). EDIT: throwback to 2019-ish when 343 said infinite would be the foundation for the next 10 years of Halo.

I think it’s going to be mobile / cloud service. The recent Microsoft interviews are clear, cloud / mobile markets are a key focus. Launching a halo game, maybe even infinite, into that space would be a good test of their capabilities.
I really with all my heart. Just want a customization system in multiplayer. That was exactly like halo reach without having to buy color variations. Halo reach. What's amazing because you can customize any color of any part of the armor. That's what we need, and we also need playable covenant characters. This was supposed to be Halo. Infinite, which is a growing universe, and we never received a DLC campaign expansion.
The certain affinity stand-alone multiplayer might actually feel like halo unlike anything after halo reach. The only reason I’m hopeful for that game is because Max Hoberman is involved the mp creator of halo 2 and 3 🐐

I would love the next game to be the final chapter of Master Chief's story. Steve Downes isn't getting any younger and imo Master Chief has been reused to many times. I think it's time for a new character to step in.
Like a lot of people are already saying…I don’t think Halo Infinite is in a “complete” state. Just a few months ago I was CERTAIN we wouldn’t even hear about another Halo game until 2025 since there’s so much to still fix/add to Infinite but here we are. If I’m being honest, for the lifespan and popularity of Halo, I think the “best” possible move they can make with the next Halo game is to go the Battle Royale route. It’s not what I WANT the next game to be but I just want people to play Halo again and for it to thrive like it once did and that seems like the way to do it.
As someone who grew up playing Halo and played on Xbox my whole life I would love for it to be playable on PlayStation. For about a year and a half I’ve mostly stuck to playing my PlayStation and I miss playing Halo as often as I used to.
I'm really not even sure if Halo 5 on PC will ever happen at this point. It's such a shame too. Halo 5 could be such a fun competitive arena shooter on MnK if they actually focus on the MnK experience and do input based matchmaking. Halo 5 movement on MnK with less forgiving bullet magnetism would go incredibly hard. One can only dream.
Im not sure Microsoft is capable of making a player friendly game at the moment. Whatever comes out will be a store with a game attached like Infinite is.
I for one never believed tatanka was cancelled but moved to an entirely different game (beginning with the switch to unreal). Now what if, 343s plan for the future is to have Tatanka release first as its standalone game. Then later on release the next halo game with tatanka attached to it. So any progress and customisation earned there is effectively what you have when the next game comes out. Basically: Tatanka releases end of this year/next Next 'game' releases next year/year after alongside tatanka (kinda like a massive update) Both announced this year at the live showcase with an update to infinite

H5 MP was actually my favorite by miles. Warzone and Warzone:Firefight were insane.

Basically just halo infinite but better campaign (and hopefully some new armor redesigns from Halo 4 & 5 to go with the ones we have already that would presumably be in said game, just as an extra choice for everyone to enjoy) (also no microtransactions, i would like it if this game was actually fun).
EDIT: throwback to 2019-ish when 343 said infinite would be the foundation for the next 10 years of Halo.

The fact that Halo fans are excited about a mobile game really shows how low the bar really is. Personally I believe another mobile game is gonna suck and made solely to pick our pockets. After all that’s what a mobile game is meant for…🤦🏻

I hope its halo wars 3. Halo was 2 is the only game 343i has put out that's generally well liked especially at launch from what I remember. So they might what capitalise on that after halo infinite. Or a halo 3 remaster for MCC even though they said there were not doing it but a lot of 343i leadership has changed and they might what to go for quick wins while developing the next main game.
I hope we will still have a few years of Halo Infinite. The Game is awesome, the best we get since Halo 3.
I wonder if we're going to get an embarrassing amount of weapons in this game too? H5 had so many awesome weapons it was insane. I had more "The Answer" Saws than I knew what to do with and it was so much fun to just call one in and change what was a terrible round for me into an awesome one.

I think it’s going to be mobile / cloud service. The recent Microsoft interviews are clear, cloud / mobile markets are a key focus. Launching a halo game, maybe even infinite, into that space would be a good test of their capabilities.
I really with all my heart. Just want a customization system in multiplayer. That was exactly like halo reach without having to buy color variations. Halo reach. What's amazing because you can customize any color of any part of the armor. That's what we need, and we also need playable covenant characters. This was supposed to be Halo. Infinite, which is a growing universe, and we never received a DLC campaign expansion.
The certain affinity stand-alone multiplayer might actually feel like halo unlike anything after halo reach. The only reason I’m hopeful for that game is because Max Hoberman is involved the mp creator of halo 2 and 3 🐐
Would like to see a BTB playlist come to halo infinite with unlimited time and unlimited kills. Maybe just change the map everyday. I would like to just play with the sandbox without worrying who's winning or the time
If 343 makes a Halo multiplayer game on mobile, with good mechanics and the same fluidity in the gameplay as Infinite, it would launch again the franchise, letting new players to discover this wonderful licence.
Just as CODM which had outshined the console versions in terms of revenues.
They need to remaster halo 3 or another odst standalone type game.

I would love the next game to be the final chapter of Master Chief's story. Steve Downes isn't getting any younger and imo Master Chief has been reused to many times. I think it's time for a new character to step in.

Like a lot of people are already saying…I don’t think Halo Infinite is in a “complete” state. Just a few months ago I was CERTAIN we wouldn’t even hear about another Halo game until 2025 since there’s so much to still fix/add to Infinite but here we are.
If I’m being honest, for the lifespan and popularity of Halo, I think the “best” possible move they can make with the next Halo game is to go the Battle Royale route.
It’s not what I WANT the next game to be but I just want people to play Halo again and for it to thrive like it once did and that seems like the way to do it.

343i seriously needs a faster release cadence for Halo. You cannot go 5+ years between games anymore. At most a new Halo game every 2 years.

As someone who grew up playing Halo and played on Xbox my whole life I would love for it to be playable on PlayStation. For about a year and a half I’ve mostly stuck to playing my PlayStation and I miss playing Halo as often as I used to.
I bet the next Halo will be released for all platforms like PlayStation 5 etc I think that is a good thing
I'm really not even sure if Halo 5 on PC will ever happen at this point. It's such a shame too. Halo 5 could be such a fun competitive arena shooter on MnK if they actually focus on the MnK experience and do input based matchmaking. Halo 5 movement on MnK with less forgiving bullet magnetism would go incredibly hard. One can only dream.

Im not sure Microsoft is capable of making a player friendly game at the moment. Whatever comes out will be a store with a game attached like Infinite is.

Its probably a multiplayer only experience, no single player campaign. Halo infinite multiplayer rebuilt in unreal engine 5.

I for one never believed tatanka was cancelled but moved to an entirely different game (beginning with the switch to unreal).
Now what if, 343s plan for the future is to have Tatanka release first as its standalone game. Then later on release the next halo game with tatanka attached to it. So any progress and customisation earned there is effectively what you have when the next game comes out.
Basically:
Tatanka releases end of this year/next
Next 'game' releases next year/year after alongside tatanka (kinda like a massive update)

Well, there’s plenty of files in the Halo Archive and I know people have been wanting a Halo starfighter game… I’ll see if I can teach myself how to code……
I am hoping that they have taken the idea to mix Halo Wars and the normal games into a sort of battlefield type game, allowing for unit types, weapon drops and a real time RTS type gamemode, something like that would be nice
Man. They should drop some dlc for the campaign. The idea of Infinite is good, they just need to get out the bugs, add more vehicles and weapons. So much potential getting thrown away. Should have just left it for the Xbox and made something else solely for pc.
