They said in an interview when they first started creating the game, there were no digital assets in the market pertaining to Chinese temples for UE5. So they literally went around all over China scanning historical temples, I believe the count was well over 60 across the whole country. So when you see a visually stunning temple (especially in chapter 3) with an absurd amount of details. That’s because it’s straight out of a historical site. Heck even the engravings can be scanned and found in scriptures and buddhist hymns. That is why it has such an insane amount of support from Chinese players, because they recognize the effort Game Science put into details and historical correctness.

Spoiler free, don't forget to play the game all over again differently, some Chinese gamers already found different endings which are even more epic than the start of the game.
28:27 This is not a dragon, only four toes, it can only be a dragon（蛟）. Only by continuing to practice and going through the heavenly tribulation can one transform into a true dragon with five toes.

There will be tourism to China coming out of the senes in the game. A total of about 40 actual locations in China were captured, 27 of them in Shanxi Province alone. After the game, seeing these location with familiar temples, statutes, mountains, will be quite epic. At the beginning of this chapter where there are various statutes lining the path - in Hangzhou, there is a mount called Feilai Feng (Flying Mount), where the paths are literally lined with statutes hundreds or thousands of years old, just like this, and next to the mount, sits the famous Jingan Temple, which also shows up in a chapter.
CGTN made a video about it, showed the game locations and the real locations in China as well.

After I learned about "Journey to the West," I really came to appreciate the story. It's full of philosophy and satire. The monk Tang Sanzang is on a quest to get sacred scriptures from the West, and Wukong is there to help him. They face 81 trials along the way, each one involving different Yaoguai. What's ironic is that most of these Yaoguai are actually pets of heavenly beings, let loose because of poor management in Heaven. These Yaoguai have powerful backers, so whenever Wukong tries to defeat them, their divine masters show up to save them. On the other hand, Yaoguai without any connections or background just die with no one coming to their rescue.
As a Chinese, it is really high that someone is willing to study this classic among the four famous novels. However, before a social novel and satirical novel in the literary sense, the reason why he is widely known is mainly because of the countless interesting stories on paper and the witty plot of the four masters and apprentices. This novel contains a lot of worldly wisdom, principles of dealing with people and satire on the feudal society at that time. However, it was influenced by the times at that time. Just like many western fairy tales also have a satirical and dark side, but the reason why these classics are sung is just because they are naive and romantic enough, isn't it😁
It reflects our society truly and truthfully in a way thats never been done before when it first came out in China

If it´s unclear who Zhu Bajie is, he´s the dude stuck between the huge cymbals. One of Sun Wukongs ( Son Goku) travel companions in the epos mentioned (good reading). He is described looking like a wild boar in the books, but ah, a bit bigger if I remember right.

@@seafood_hater Son Goku is the japanese name of Sun Wukong. "Journey to the west" was written about 500 years ago so the name comes from Wukong. Goku in DBZ is, as far as I know, based on Wukong (hence his name - Goku). I am sorry for any misunderstandings. But, as you said. Respect the original.

That grumpy pig at the end is Zhu bajie, one of wukong's homies. He used to be a high marshall in heaven until he was caught flirting with the moon goddess Chang'e, after that he was banished to the mortal realm to and somehow got turned into a pig-demon for his lust for young women and eating people. He was then found by Wukong and the great monk and was given a chance to repent for his past sins by accompanying then through the journey to the west, protecting the monk, he's not as powerful as Wukong but he kicks demon ass.

I think you missed a lot of things in the previous chapters lol, definitely explore more to get new transformation spells
Love the playthrough Hollow!!! I figured something out that may be helpful to you in the future. When picking the green mana flames it refills the gourd a little (I think those equal one use). So, if you see those, you can do 1 heal then grab the flames, it will refill what you just used. Not sure if you figured this out for future videos but if not, hope this helps.

The statues at the beginning animation is real. There’s a temple in Shan Xi, I think they had been there for hundreds years? No sure how long, but I really like them, I wish I had chance to visit the temple.
