Hello, thanks for another great video, watching these helps compensate for these worrying times, first time in about 30 years I haven't been to Switzerland 2 or 3 time a year to spend time either travelling on the railways or trackside with cameras, Michael from England.
It brings back memories. I had relatives living in this area (Lausanne, Vevey, Montreux, les vignes de Lavaud).I know these places since i was a kid. Now they passed away, so it gives nostalgia.
Thanks for a very beautiful video. It was particularly interesting to see (towards the end of the journey) two of the new Riviera Lemanique 'in-motion-charging' trolleybuses. Some people think that electric buses are a modern idea! Trolleybuses have existed since about 1910!

This was a great trip. I was especially pleased that the train stopped at Burier which was 'my' station to and from Lausanne for a number of years. At that time the station building had beautiful, wood framed 'French doors' into the waiting room accessed from the station platform. These doors appear to have been removed unfortunately. The chef de gare at the time had quite a number of oleander plants ('laurier rose') in large tubs with which he would decorate the platform from spring to autumn. In the winter, the tubs were given shelter in the waiting room! I don't see any flowers on the platform now. It was also great to see the low mountain scenery behind Montreux where I have done many, many walking excursions. I highly recommend a trip on the MOB-Montreux-Oberland Bernois railway from Montreux for anyone visiting Switzerland (you can see the MOB terminus to the left of the screen when this train stops at Montreux). You don't have to take the expensive Golden Pass options: you can take an all stops train and get off and on where you like, walking between stations and getting on the train again to continue or simply return to Montreux. Take a good map, compass, boots/sturdy shoes, warm jacket and some food and water. Remember that at some stations you may have to ring a bell on the platform to ensure that the train stops for you. On a side note ETCS certainly aids in efficient control of trains, allowing more capacity and possibly higher speed but as a rail-fan, I miss the line-side signal(sniff, sniff). Other side note, the new electrification of the Bay Area Cal-Train has substations that look very similar to what I see on the videos of European electrification. Thanks again from dry, very dry California.
Love your videos! Brings me to a part of the world that I will never be able to be in person. I would like to see Europe... especially Switzerland, France, and Italy try to tackle the severe graffiti problem. It makes me sad to see buildings, rocks and walls defaced. In Loveland Colorado where I live the city came up with a great idea where walls, electrical transformers, and other graffiti targets were turned into works of art with everything from abstract to people and animal scenes. A contest was set up with rewards. The graffiti problem disappeared with the new artwork adding color and character, rather than symbols of territorial gangs and vandalism.

@@lorirocks777 Yea, I remember the last time we talked, I also remember seeing the train videos you filmed in my former hometown Kouvola 😂 was quite a surprise to me, I can tell you that! It's a very young city and there's little to see there, except the train museum! As for me, I'm currently studying & working in Phoenix AZ, haven't seen much snow here lol. It's morning here, cloudy and drizzle, the temp is 17°, tomorrow 22°. I like it here, the desert surrounding the city is magical, esp at sunset. Anyway, my relatives have sent me a lot of videos from Helsinki, and sure enough, there's a lot of snow there, even along the south coast, which very often doesn't get snow during the winter. Last winter the whole country didn't get any snow, excluding Lapland but there's a completely different climate compared to the rest of the country. I'll be back in Helsinki next spring, hopefully people in & outside of the EU would've been vaccinated by then. Thank you, I enjoyed the ride. Listening to the announcements I prefer the form 'bim-bim-bom Prochain ârret PLACE' to just bim-bim-bom and the place name. The two words give me time to get used to the voice. When the name is just given, it easily passes me by, particularly since French is not my mother tongue. Passing Montreux reminded me of a trip on the MOB a long time ago, Montreux-Zweisimmen is a nice route.

35:15 why no stop here? There is a station how it’s not possible for a stopper service. But it’s a good driving with ETCS signalling, and it’s sad these signals are gone.
Great scenery around lake Geneva. In the UK we now have some similar FLIRT trains in east Anglia but the land is less attractive than in Switzerland! I wonder if the English station announcements on UK trains are preceded by the same chimes as heard in this video.Thanks for this video.
I like the map at each stop...great way to learn geography! By the way, if you just click on a UA-cam video to see this, it is set on the lowest quality video...at least that was the way with me. I have a pretty decent/new Apple Macbook Pro with Retina...so not sure why it did that. I had to go into UA-cam's settings to change it.

I think they are served by other trains
Some trains have announcement “ stop on request” - when nobody push the button at the door the train moves on without stopping
35:15 why no stop here? There is a station how it’s not possible for a stopper service. But it’s a good driving with ETCS signalling, and it’s sad these signals are gone.
There are 2 regional trains per hour on this line, in the very small stations only 1 train stops.
