Hello, i am new to DevOps. Wanted to know how Azure Devops & AWS devops different from each other technically. Do they use different set of tools?

Great Qs, You are right basically every cloud provider has tried building their own DevOps Ecosystem so that the DevOps teams need not to go anywhere outside to use the open source tools. From a business standpoint it makes sense because you are keeping your customers within your ecosystem without external dependencies, from customer standpoint it makes their life easy as they can start building their DevOps pipelines without spending much time on deciding what all tools to use. Hope it helps

@@ITkFunde Thanks for the answer. Couple more questions. So from the perspective of someone who wants to get into Devops, if I learn Azure Devops, then will I be not considered for AWS devops roles and is it easy to move to AWS devops if someone already knows Azure Devops?

In short If you know Python and Sql you will opt for Data Engineer , For Devops You need to know about Cloud, Linux, GIT, Jenkins, Docker , KUberneteres, Artifacotry, Code Scanner like sonarqube and monitoring tool. Devops is tough as compare to Data engineer. I worked in both side data engineer little easy as compare to Devops. Devops is really a strugle

@@kshitiz4416 To understand Devops you have to Understand Cloud (Most of the organisation working on cloud these days on prem is 10 to 20%) first. To Understand Cloud pre requite networking. Then come to OS linux is must , Then containerisation , Kubernetes that very topic and some what you to know about little about Java , Python and node js as well. Then Openshift and monotoring tools are in vouge these days. Day by days new sevices is added into cloud and devops as well so always you have to ready to learn and brain storing on these things.

Hello Anshul, I am your long-time subscriber and first of all I would like to say that it was a great presentation. However, I think, you should have added a fourteenth point also. You touched it partially but it is very important nowadays in the world of AI and automation, and that is ' Job Security'. Devops tools automation eats the job of the devops engineer itself. I have seen many tools that were popular and very useful at one time soon became obsolete. I am old now and cannot constantly update myself and want some job security. Secondly, whenever, I join a new job, I have to compete with younger kids. Naturally, they are more energetic and up-to-date. Recruiters in their JD mention a lot of experience, but in that period, everyone knows how much cloud and tools have changed. Every day there is a new dashboard. So the experience really does not matter as the tools are constantly changing.
Hence I am now trying to move to the Data Engineer/ Scientist field. I have touched Python, Statistics, PowerBI, DBs and Panda, Matplot, etc libraries. However, I am still not confident in how to transition and how to modify the resume, etc. and I could use some help.
Although a lot of information is available online, in one of your videos - you mentioned the importance of mentorship. I don't have a job right now. Also as you pointed out, when you get old, you need some visibility and interaction with upper management and clients. I would like to come out of the backend and be a more people person. Would you be able to mentor me in your spare time, to point me in the right direction and help me choose the right path? rajeshg.chopra@yahoo.com

Great Video sir, but i disagree on fewer side. Devops is really tough and nt just broader knowledge help even deep knowledge of tools is also needed like k8s it has its own cncf, ansible/chef custom libraries are developed. Even linux there are n number of things need to learn to fine tune and solve real world problem, i did not even touch on observability tools, cloud itself now needs to have multi cloud knowledge also entire DB knowledge not only queries but also configuration side of it. Also you mentioned SRE or Devops do not interact with senior management or visibility. Anything that breaks in prod DevOps guy is the first spoc, Even for Cost optimization, Performance under load management will directly call Devops spoc. I hope this overwhelming thing changes but this needs to be addressed. In JD now days it mentions 24*7 availability.

I disagree being in sre/devops for last 3 years. You need to know compliance as code: cloud custodian, waf integrations, ops side of things, kafka etc. devops is really deep and it is not for freshers.

I feel a devops or cloud engineers are working on something where businesses knowledge is not that much important, so data engineer has a slight advantage here. Please let us know your thoughts on this point
