A Well Armed Militia of Park Rangers should head up to Washington and ensure that the Government does not shut down based on the whims of a capritious Executive.

Amen. Don't people realize that national parks are OUR parks - for the benefit of everyone? Do the people that trash the parks treat their own homes the same way?

You ARE seeing our collective morality at work, since any teaching of accountability to God and personal responsibility has been removed from our public schools. We are reaping what we have sown my friend.

Document these events and take it to the DA for prosecution at 10% of levied fines and asset seizures. It's called citizen policing and it's legal.

I wanted to see Yosemite with snow, but the horror stories about the trash and tourist congestion made me second guess going. Also, 3 people have died in Yosemite since the shutdown began so it seems dangerous to visit right now.

I was hoping to drive in to Yosemite this weekend when I go up to Mono Lake, but it sounds like they've started really limiting the access. The eastern entrance (SR 120) is also currently closed off due to weather conditions. Thanks for watching! www.latimes.com/travel/la-tr-yosemite-southern-entrance-restricted-access-20190102-story.html

@@ExploreAlways The 120 is usually closed during the winter. Due to the winter storm, tire chains might become required to enter Yosemite Valley if they aren't already.

There's huge contractions in this view. The planet is not getting worse. In fact, the planet is more livable now than it's ever been. The human survival rate is at an all time high and only seems to be getting better as time goes on. This is a direct result of the impact that humans have had on the environment.
As a side note, humans (and other animals) have been shitting in the narional parks for the majority of world history. That is the natural state of this land. The fact that you use this example to showcase the destructive nature of humans is completely contradictory to your professed view; to keep nature natural.

Adam Shepherd Just because it’s temporarily more livable for modern humans doesn’t mean its sustainable

@@LucidFL the improvement in human living conditions has been going on for thousands of years. That seems pretty sustainable to me.

While things like Modern Medicine and other technological advances have indeed benefited humanity with better health and longer lives, whats happening with the planet is completely unrelated. Look at all the crazy weather and stuff thats been going on in the past few years. water shortages in the west, the eternal burning heap that is California. the major hurricanes that just seem to get more and more devastating.
The earth isn't solely responsible for humanities improvements. we made ourselves better, in many cases, at great cost. Im no climatologist, but it is obvious things are getting worse and the climate is changing from our interactions with it. in some regards, you could almost say its becoming less livable.

@@FevnorTheWolf actually, you're factually wrong on every account. There are not more storms, floods, or droughts. The higher cost of these disasters has nothing to do with the size of the storms, but has everything to do with the size of the populations they are affecting. The exception may be the CA water situation, but even this has nothing to do with climate change and everything to do with the economics of how water is distributed in CA. It's the CA government who is causing the water shortage in exactly the same what that the Soviet Union caused food shortages. Please look deeper into these issues if your going to make claims like these.

@@FevnorTheWolf also things like modern medicine are only possible because we have engineered our world to make it more habitable thus freeing up labor to do things other than farm. The perspective that's lost on most people is this; for the majority of human history, humans spent nearly every waking hour working their hands to the bone just to scrape together enough calories not to die. Modern advances in technology are all interconnected and the benefits have greatly outweighed the cost. In fact, there isn't one "cost" that any reasonable person can point to that has actually come to fruition. They are all hypotheticals and many have failed to materialize.
