Ok, here's my story...I'll try to make it as quick as possible. It's so eerie how much this resonated. Years ago my (then) mother-in-law tried over and over to get my daughter taken away from me by making up lies with CPS that I was on drugs and a neglectful parent. Her and my (then) husband had FAKE custody papers made up claiming that I had kidnapped our daughter even though they knew exactly where she was and would come get her on weekends when he went to jail. I was arrested and she was caught in a lie when my lawyer had proof of PICTURES of her engaging with my daughter as well as proof that the custody papers were fake so a fake death certificate is NOT far fetched. Fast forward YEARS later out of the blue a woman contacts me on FB saying she was his NEW wife and that he told her I was dead. She was shocked to find I was alive and well and doing VERY well. Throughout the years everywhere I moved he would find me, pop up in the middle of the night and try to kill me. I guess spirit got tired of his and his mom's mess and he went to jail for a VERY long time. Me and his mom stopped talking. Fast forward to 2014 I hear from my daughter n that he has remarried again, joined the church, changed his life around. Ok, nice. He contacts me to ask for my forgiveness for all he's done. I accepts. He says he'll be in NC visiting family and would like to see me after all these years. I agree but he says he doesn't want our daughter (who was NOW 24) to know) I found that odd and told him I couldn't do that so I told her. He came down and we all had a great time. But SOMETHING was off. He seemed uncomfortable. He never unpacked his suitcase and just always seemed uneasy. He went back home and said he'd be back but instead new got news that he was arrested for raping 2 women in his neighborhood. He went to prison where he ended up committing suicide by taking DRUGS. I wasn't allowed to come to the funeral. I told my daughter that my instincts told me that her father probably came to NC to kill me but when he got there couldn't do it bc she was there with our granddaughter plus he probably couldn't bring himself to do it bc we treated him so kind. His initial reason for wanting to take me out was because she couldn't have me. We had a very abusive marriage. I believe when he went back home, he decided to put me back in his will bc it was like 4-5 months bc he got arrested for rape. I believe when he changed his will he knew he was going to go back to jail and take himself out.... The shame of what he had done with the fake death certificate previously seeing how kind we had treated him. GUILT. I wasn't allowed at the funeral because I was supposed to be dead therefore no one was supposed to see me and I wasn't supposed to collect any life insurance money. My ex husband was BIG in life insurance policies. Their whole family was. Everybody had policies on each other. Probably had one on me too when they claimed I had died. When you mentioned a brother being a whistle blower. That's not far fetched either. He DOES have a brother who's been sick for the longest. He almost died some years ago. His brother is the one who went against the family and told that my (then) husband had a secret child. The mother is the big kahuna in the family. She runs EVERYTHING!!! The stepfather does what she says so YES they are a duo. I don't know what's going on in their lives but I know the brother is sickly and the mom, ever since her other son took his life, her health has been going downhill. As far as a shady lawyer. The mom has had the same shady family lawyer for YEARS! When I was a young wife and mother living with them, I was in an accident with the city bus company. She hooked me up with her lawyer. That man robbed me blind. I was only 20 and didn't understand. I was pregnant and the city was at fault. That lawyer only gave me $2500. The next thing I know we all moved out of that cramped apt and she bought a new house. I was in welfare so I couldn't put the $2500 in the bank. I had the money in a shoe box. The brother who's still living stole THAT. So I actually got NONE of the money from the settlement. But now, they're ALL suffering and my ex husband is dead.
