Yessir. I fish on a hobie. I have never fished the Long Beach harbor in my kayak, though. Looks like a great fishery.

I'm 74, grew up fishing in the LBC, lived in the Belmont Shores area, I started on the old wooden Belmont pier then I was a deckhand on the old Queen of The Sea. Fished Rainbow pier for big Rays and surfed the entire south coast area. I ended up with a small commercial jig boat setup for local Barracuda in season. Those days are gone due to the gill netters and the market price on Barries dropped from 80 cents a pound to 15 cents. Things have changed now from the old days as it does everywhere. Sure enjoyed the good old days. Annie B Barge was a cool get away for cheap back then. Tight lines guys CATCH AND RELEASE 100%

Where do you launch from?
This particular trip was from South Shores Launch Ramp. The one closest to the Queen Mary.
The last time I fished I was in my early teens, I'm in my mid 50's now and would like to pick up where I left off.
And I have a lot to catch up so I got a 3 Water Big Fish 103 as my first fishing kayak for start. Thanks to you guys, I am inspired to get out there, but with baby steps.
Are the fish safe to eat being so close to the ships with produce a lot of pollution.
