I've seen so many theories about this, like the most common theory I see is that Murdoc is immortal after his deal with the devil, and he's like this living slowly rotting corpse, other theories I know of is alcoholism and other generally unhealthy behavior, but I guess in canon, Murdoc stated he became greener as a result of tanning, so, IDK maybe green people just exist in the Gorillaz universe (also since Ace from PowerPuff Girls took over briefly as bassist, it means that Gorillaz and PowerPuff Girls exist in the same universe, so it can be plausible).
I don't what it is, but there's a certain feeling I get from Gorillaz Phase 1, that I don't feel in any other phase. Especially in these Bitez clips. Is it the Cartoon Network aesthetic? Nostalgic nature of it? I don't know, but Phase 1 is easily my favorite phase of Gorillaz, and the artstyle is easily my favorite one too.

I miss the animations like this back when it felt like Jamie and Damon were doing it for the music and the love of the characters. While i still love gorillaz it seems so watered down and Damon doesn’t deliver on his promises and everything is cut due to budget and we’re left in the wings waiting for when new news is going to be announced.
So that implies that there is a Gorillaz merchandise game released in their universe presumably with all four bands members playable...interesting then that Murdoc chose to play as Russell and 2-D chose to play as Noodle.
