Right after your top 5 video last night after what you said, I went and won the Smolensk from the first Santa mega container I opened, you gave me luck , thank you Sealord.
Sea Lord thanks for doing the review it was very nice. I think many UA-camrs post their best games all the time and for many players this is a bit overwhelming and can discourage many players from playing because most of us are average. I was a utility player for my clan until neurological disease began developing a few years ago, which meant i played all the classes to contribute. I like CVs a lot and got above average until the disease has began slowing me down. I am thinking of getting Shinano so i appreciate the posting. I have seen several videos of top players scoring 300-400k and those high Citadel numbers with skip bombs are NUTS!!! I can see WG nerfing these before next Christmas 2025 lol. If the Shinano's galley is as good as her skip bombs count me in!!! 🍲🍕🍺🍔
Wow! I was not expecting sealord to pick up a carrier, I thought that he was going to pick up either the Dutch cruiser, the German destroyer, or the archerfish I mean I get that the shinano is the sister ship of the Yamato and the musashi but I hope that you are able to accumulate enough steel to hopefully get maybe also the Archer fish as well but we will see
Minor correction on the skip bombers. If you want to citadel cruisers you want to hit them with the third line otherwise you overpen and if you want to citadel heavy cruisers you hit them between the third and second line and with battleships you want to hit them between the first and second line.
@@celtoucan4956 while the pen levels are the same, the angle at which they hit are different across the entire stretch. so you still need to take that into consideration
Can’t wait to see Coal IJN Carrier, Akagi with 410mm AP bomb that does the same AP pen and damage as Nagato. (She still have the same squadrons as Kaga but instead they do Hornet’s B25 style) basically a Cancer version of FDR. (When I said same damage as Nagato I mean each bomb does the same AP damage of Nagato (14K damage, not overalls but a single AP citadel bomb)
That sounds good hope there is a gold version of her so I can spend your earnings in a year trying to get her, so you post more CV hate like this that CV mains live for. It's wild how all BB brawler mains just want it to go back to that. Same BB mains that hate island camping, and the Shinano punishes that. Same BB mains that cried about shotgunning, you just want to oneshot everything and play against above water citadels CV.
@ Tbh, I rather get citadeled by a Bb than a CV. Actually, I never hatea CV until a rework. RTS back than (despite it can deletes you) are felt more fair than current CVs. Now why I said this? RTS CVs gets huge punishment. When they got deplane while new CVs does not. Which is the main issue, we want a that level of Punishment on the CVs. Subs shotgunning are fine by me if they have a huge risk involvement. You need a balance that, if you do this x thing you also have a chance to get punish for it. For DDs (mostly) getting closer to cap and torps risking yourself to be detected and get blown out of the water. BB and Cruisers have to stay broadside to maximize fire power have a risk of get heavy return damage if you’re not careful. This is what the game designs are for. CV back then have a punishment as well. Attack enemy groups of aircrafts you get punished severely by deplaning and due to limited amount of aircrafts. I think CVs should have this kind of punishment where there should be a heavy penalty when playing poorly like losing aircrafts. Current CV aircraft destroyed rate is lower than RTS CVs thanks to attacking immunity ability and Continuous AA damage is garbage. Same thing with subs, the complain about the sub is that they are too tanky than they suppose to be. I think subs should be even more vulnerable than DDs but also a better scout ship which is why I felt shotgunning would be okay if the Subs are having a HP less than 5000. Here’s how I’ll make the balance to make CV and Subs are more punishing while it felt fair on both sides. AA range extended by 1.5km for American Ships and Flak Burst is now count each dual purpose gun barrels. (Means if you fight Iowa, she will already have 10 Flaks each side or fighting Yamato where all guns are Flak Bursts. This Flak bursts are based on activation, means ships has to activate it. Downside on this activation is that ships cannot use Dual Purpose guns as Main and Secondaries while targeting air. It is permanent duration but you can switch it back to normal. For example, San Diego goes Flak mode, all of her dual purpose guns (127mm) will no longer in your control, they will target aircrafts, basically means Sandy is now no longer a threat to surface ships. CVs will get indication highlights on the enemy ships if they activated the Flaks. This to make things fair on both sides. You maximize AA power but lose ability to fight surface ships effectively. (I got this idea from Naval Art. A game recently updated to add Naval Aircrafts for Carriers and they doing all dual purpose guns to do this kind of thing and the aircrafts were WOWs RTS CV style. And I really like their approach of AA guns) Now, for the subs. This is more simple and complicated at the same time. Subs will have HP not more than 7,000 HP (I’ll be generous here). Have a torps not have range more than 8km and remove homing torps. Remove 3km damage penalty. Shotgunning is fine as long as there’s a catch when performing it. Subs detection are now based on noise making. Everything you do on the subs will always making noises. DDs have permanent passive Hydro on subs. To reduce the noise you have to pretty much move or do anything less. Stop the ship will be a total undetected underwater, while max speed have a passive detection range of 5km. Active Hydro will punish. Moving subs even more by as Max speed will make Subs detected by Active Hydro by 8km. In order to make the subs undetected by Active Hydro you must stop the ship never turn or produce any noises, that’s including reloading torpedoes. You can press 1 to stop reloading torpedoes. Basically you have to be extremely stealthy and quiet to make subs effective. To balance this, Subs torps does the same damage as DDs and they always minimap spot you in any depth within 5km. To make DDs interaction with subs more interesting, only DD depth charges can do critical damage to subs. Subs will have limited time (8mins) stay underwater just like current subs but if you get a new critical damage, Ball Blast. You’ll lose that duration twice as fast. DCP is now infinite but cannot be use underwater. Sub does have heal but it’s only 1% per second, which last only 15 seconds. Have 3 charges. German subs will not have heals, but they will more comfortable to play as German subs doesn’t make much noises compared to other lines. Plus, only source of healing will be from Gunther Lutjens anyways. (I got noise produce based game from Warthunder where I think it is the best way to make Subs more interesting to interact on both sides.)
Shouldn't the bombs be Mutsu's Type 88 shells? As I recall the bombs at Pearl Harbor were converted from the obsolete and freely available Type 88 shells that were no longer in use. That would still give a dmg of 12.4k.
From running into a Shinano playing BBs, she's really not as scary as people thought she'd be and is about where I figured she would be. Now take what I'm going to say with a grain of salt because I haven't played her yet, but playing against her in a few games. The Skip Bombs - Sure they overmatch 32mm, but Haku dive bombers have less armour to pen through and cit you about as often, only they can more easily cit ships with underwater citadels, where Shinano just simply can't. After the first drop against me I simply stopped even bothering to try to dodge the bombs in ships with well protected cits because they simply don't do much damage. The Tactical Bombers - It's a weaker drop than Hornet's tactical bombers a full CV tier higher. Hornet is 24 bombs with 45% fire chance, 42mm of pen at 8000 damage, compared to Shinano's 8 at 8800, sure Shinano get's hers faster. Though not faster enough to make up the difference. Her bombers would have to reload in roughly 70-80 seconds to even match the damage of Hornet's strike. Not really impressed. The Torpedoes Bombers - Slightly harder hitting than Haku's torp bombers if you can land all 3, so situation-ally better than Haku if you are good at leading CV torps, if you aren't and are only hitting 1-2 torps per drop... well... then you are basically on par with the damage output of Shokaku, while being 2 tiers higher. Still though likely her best squad if I'm honest. If you are okay in CVs it's a consistent ~21k damage per drop until you run out of them because of their low HP. Also those secondaries? Good? They are 127mm guns, they will never pen anything larger than a DD. They are TERRIBLE. She was very hyped, but I don't think she's even remotely as good as the hype suggests. I still plan on picking her up some day because she is one of my favourite sleepy waifus but I'm more picking her up because I play Azur Lane than her actually seeming good. If you want a good "premium" T10 CV, just pick up Malta.
Furry, you haven't played a CV main or you're a BB that has AA and hugs other BB say it isn't scary but you hide corner of map and lose game and have zero impact. Skip bombers are also a lot easier to hit with everything it's Citadel damage and they're also in AA the least. Idk if you thought of really not as scary as people thought because she doesn't do half your HP in a run or something wild like that. But she is hands down the strongest CV right now at tier10. You can't take anything from watching his game play like he said he isn't a good CV player(not even decent honestly) and his movement, pathing and logical choices are just wrong each of his first two runs in a game as well. There only a handful of actually good CV mains only one content creator(Rei) that is a good CV player, because CV mains get hate on and you can shill for hating CV for viewers.

As someone who mains CV's, this thing is OP. Her ''paper'' planes are surprisingly durable. While most CV's can be a nightmare BB's, this thing is a nightmare for cruisers AND other CV's. Doesn't matter which CV I use, the shinano will fly in a full squadron of skip bombers, hit for ~15k a volley and somehow...only 3 planes after it used all it's attack waves. Then there's the torpedo's...This thing can sink most ships in 2 squadron attacks.
Unfortunately its not the last of the Yamato sister ships. There were suppose to be FIVE of them, the 3 we know (yamato, musashi and ofc the vip of this video shinano) and 2 more named ships 111 and 797 respectively.111 was 30% complete and i dont think its the Shikishima we have in game(neither the Satsuma thx god).797 desigh was incorporated in Yamato and Musashi(in real life) and became the yamato we have in game.Just some history for those who maybe are interested.Otherwise Shinano is not as op as i thought myself as well.I have bought her, took me a while and some videos to see how her ap skip bombs work and i have to say i dont find her to be op.Keep in mind i am not the best CV player either(germanras in EU for those who want to satisfy their curiocity,i don 't consider myself a good CV player i know ppl way better than me).The bombs are avoidable and keep mind in EU most of my matches in CV(dont know about anybody else) tend to have ppl that the moment they see CV they come together quite close to each other and makes drops costly. So for A CV like the shinano with tier 8 planes its mandatory to use the heal and that will only anyone get so far. Also Shinano was sunk by archerfish while SHE was transported to a safer harbor while being worked on in transit. There is a video about how that went here in youtube if you interested in.
Since we now have all the Yamato-class ships, now we just need the New Jersey to be added to the game so we can have all of the Iowa-class BBs, cuz we have the Iowa, the Missouri, and now the Wisconsin
8:50 the skip bombers also spot and they also force people to turn into your team, you cant angle against it like "real" AP. its not a fun mechanic, even if you get lucky and dodge a cit 4 times, getting Cit on the 5th while being spotted the whole time basically is going to be brutal.
Been playing this game from the start and missed out on a few ships, I spent enough money to get every ship including 2 gold ships. Around 1,100 dollars mark I got the first gold ship and another at 1,300 mark. I now have every ship on the Santa list.
As someone who mains mostly BB's and CV's Overall she looks good, fun, good for randoms, interesting concept and unique gimmick shared by her sisters, though for competative play I don't imagine she would be able to top Hakuryuu's performance Good nontheless
Still do not understand why American CV's do not have skip bombers since I know we used them. My uncle was a pilot in WW2 and that was one of the ways he used his plane.
I think shinano is a very solid ship torps ok AP skip bombers damn they Hurts like hell HE bomb good armour good Secondary and armour are good but citadel is easy penetrate and the smoke is good for pushing
Honestly, the Shinano SHOULD be a letdown. It was a terribly flawed conversion with pitifully small air group of less than 50 airframes. It was supposed to act as a support unit, acting as a floating repair and supply depot with a small defensive air group, so its combat characteristics should be underwhelming by design, but it also has glaring deficiencies in survivability.
Crazy armour too, most DDs struggle with HE. Oh, and fix the bloody spotting mechanics WG, there are way too many planes in this game. Very noticeable reduction in the numbers of people playing dds. Out of 16 games in gold ranked tonight on SEA, 12 had no DDs. Never seen that before.
I sort of wonder if the 25% discount coupon would also work for this, or the 15% would work for other ships. If both are the case, and you have enough steel, why not?
Absolutely not, in a T8 game it is one of the best CVs to have. Has midways T10 planes. Just not a lot of them so you actually have to utilize brain cells to play it.
But the planes are Tier 8 level with low health and slow speed. The torpedos do the damage of the Shōkaku which is 2 K less than the Hakuryū torpedos. Spotting for your team is difficult because of the low health. Keep your steel.
Thanks for the review Sealord. Since getting this will have depleted your steel reserves by over 30k, does this mean you won't be reviewing the Prins Van Oranje any time soon?
Y'know... if they're going to make a flying Yamato, it better be Shinano. I think that, disregarding the fact of AP skip bombs being nonsense, Shinano getting the Yamato-class' family gimmick really isn't egregious.
You forgot to comment that it has a standard DCP and not the 1min one that all other aircraft carrier get and it also has battleship burn time instead of the other cvs 5 second burn time.
have to say this, but if being historical slanted, shinano ought to have AA thats death to anything close... and no ability to detect or attack american subs.
Correct me if I'm wrong here but I don't think its that bad to build your cv for secondaries. You won't always get use out of it but the skills you get on CV's and the modules you need for secondaries (At least the first one) Don't have a big downside. Like you don't sacrifice alot. CV skills are kind of low impact
For historical reasons it´s good to se it in game I guess. But from a non-CV player perspective, I hate to see even more CVs in game, specially those with skip bombs. So this is a thumbs down for WG from me.
Its ridiculous that you spent 2 flights to get 22k damage calling it op when a BB can do as much damage in one salvo reload faster and gets healing hmm. CVs have never been op imho they were hated for the spotting capabilities.
WG Will smurf it, just like they ruined F.D. Roosevelt because of the snowflake crowd that whines about any ship that out matches there zero ability's.
Blame the imperial Japanese Navy. They made it. You think this was crazy. Wait till you hear about the I-400. Submarine aircraft carrier. That actually existed
All cvs are based on broken game mechanics, they don't need to risk anything to spott or attack. And they can attack anyone, anywhere, anytime, on the map and risk nothing or give away it's position.
Exactly this. There isn't a single CV in game that isn't overpowered. They embody no risk and high reward gameplay which is broken no matter the game. I also chuckled when he said "high skill floor". Maybe high skill floor for the tutorial of Hello Kitty Online.
do not support this game is lie to player if you do not buy any module with real money ,server start hacking your data make very difficulty to ship or fire and aim the vision until the opponent ship get close to you and quickly destroy your ship so they do not pay for you more credit then you have to buy with real money to get more credit to play the game ,it is cheating action.

Then there's the torpedo's...This thing can sink most ships in 2 squadron attacks.
That intro goes HARD
That intro goes hard
Beautiful intro!
I think she is fun, I bought her mostly for being the third Yamato Class already having the Yamato and Musashi
Insane secondary CV. The skip bombs are a funny thing, for armored targets the less skips the better
Very nice intro 👍
I like Shinano unit of Yamato-class sister(Yamato and Musashi) 0:27
As someone who mains mostly BB's and CV's
Overall she looks good, fun, good for randoms, interesting concept and unique gimmick shared by her sisters, though for competative play I don't imagine she would be able to top Hakuryuu's performance
Good nontheless
I’m pretty confused what this ships unique gimmick is. Any clarification on this is greatly appreciated
@aidonger42069 the AP Skip Bombs get 32mm overmatch, a trait shared by the AP on yammy and musashi, and seen on none of the other CV's
They are thick as thieves in ranked. About the only other CV getting much of a run is the Essex.
So Shinano is kind of like a super sized HMS Unicorn?
Ye
Tennoheika Banzai!
Off subject, but I'm curious what Captain Build would or do you run on the IJN Mikasa?
I wish I could buy this ship on Xmas day
Still do not understand why American CV's do not have skip bombers since I know we used them. My uncle was a pilot in WW2 and that was one of the ways he used his plane.
I think shinano is a very solid ship torps ok AP skip bombers damn they Hurts like hell HE bomb good armour good
Secondary and armour are good but citadel is easy penetrate and the smoke is good for pushing
one thing you missed about secondary ( i saw some other youtuber tlak about it), you can use them will smoking yourself too :)
should i gamble for the musashi
When is that CV / spotting rework happening?
So SLM, in terms of secondaries , Max Immelman or Shinano?
I sort of wonder if the 25% discount coupon would also work for this, or the 15% would work for other ships. If both are the case, and you have enough steel, why not?
I got the Italian CV in a santas mega box. One of 2 classes of ships I don't play. ( CV's & subs)
I picked up the Saipan B out of a crate. Omg that CV is absolutely horrible. I'm not good at CV to begin with.
Saipan is the worst CV, it should be heavily buffed.
Unless he gets it in a golden container
Y'know... if they're going to make a flying Yamato, it better be Shinano. I think that, disregarding the fact of AP skip bombs being nonsense, Shinano getting the Yamato-class' family gimmick really isn't egregious.
What is the family gimmick of that class or battleship?
@@aidonger42069 Big guns and so overmatch.
@@aidonger42069 As already stated, the ability to engage targets at any angle thanks to overmatch.
How in the world didn't MR SECONDARY himself try out secondary build on Shinano and show us gameplay from it?!?
I did, but alas, none would take the bait
Chikuma ll is weird, a cruiser with torpedo bombers lol
What's SeaWorld in a CD
Shinano got sunk because the watertight compartments weren't functioning.
WoWS players: Yay! We can now form Yamato platoons!
Meanwhile in Azur Lane: When will we get Yamato in the game?
Until the CV rework 3.0 comes out, no CV is worth paying Coal, Steel, or Research Points for.
Third line…. From which direction? Best use terms like nearest line and furthest.
☠️
3rd line is the end line
If I had known she'd finally be coming to the game as a steel ship, I wouldn't have bother picking up the now crappy FDR
3:47-3:55 bro what are you saying💀
The cheeks mean nothing because wargaming won't allow you to citadel one of their precious aircraft carriers don't you know.
World of warships/Cv's
For historical reasons it´s good to se it in game I guess. But from a non-CV player perspective, I hate to see even more CVs in game, specially those with skip bombs. So this is a thumbs down for WG from me.
Its ridiculous that you spent 2 flights to get 22k damage calling it op when a BB can do as much damage in one salvo reload faster and gets healing hmm.
CVs have never been op imho they were hated for the spotting capabilities.
WG Will smurf it, just like they ruined F.D. Roosevelt because of the snowflake crowd that whines about any ship that out matches there zero ability's.
this shouldnt exist
Beating a dead horse really?
@@jordonnicoli6093 it's not a dead horse it's still what it is. And by that comment I'd find likely that ur a CV player.
I just opened this video to give it thumbs down. Another reason to avoid random battles.
do not support this game is lie to player if you do not buy any module with real money ,server start hacking your data make very difficulty to ship or fire and aim the vision until the opponent ship get close to you and quickly destroy your ship so they do not pay for you more credit then you have to buy with real money to get more credit to play the game ,it is cheating action.
yeyey, more sky cancer.... why do I even play this game
ridiculous op. my tier 9 bb was destroyed by 3 air attacks from this piece of crap........
Which BB?
*Love the intro!*
