the thing i like so much about those old digital cameras is it kinda evokes a feeling of like "how the future really turned out" from the perspective of the past... maybe also how you can see how some things are different but many are the same
Usually I'm pretty resilient to the idea of being in my mid-30s, but this made me feel a little old, haha. When people look back fondly on film cameras from even the late '90s, I get it. It's film. But early digital? I'm still thankful for the progress made in digital photography and can't quite bring myself to be nostalgic for the early stuff. At least not yet. My Canon Powershot A540 (which I still have somewhere) was my first non-junk camera. It was an excellent little point and shoot, and served well until I got my first DSLR. It's cool to look back on, but I do NOT miss the low light blur.
I was born in the late 90s, so all the small point-and-shoot cameras really bring back memories from my childhood. There’s some thing about not needing your phone and being able to fit a small camera in your pocket. It’s a different way of life and I kind of prefer it. I think I collect small point-and-shoot because of how different life was back in the day. Each task had its own dedicated thing for it. It’s kind of nice being able to leave my phone at home and have a small device that will capture all the memories. Haha also 30s is not old! Thanks for you comment!
Right with you, well closer to 40 actually 😅 I was just getting into digital photography in the early to mid 00's and there were people (rightly I guess) saying film was still superior for image quality. I can also remember reading that 9 megapixels was supposedly going to be the point where the detail captured could start overtaking film and being shocked at the number 😂
Coupled with the outstanding editing and production value I thought this channel had a hundred thousand subs, Absolutely beautiful night time photos, the vibe gives off a sense of pensiveness
6 days ago I was cycling, and I just remember there was a vintage store, so I decided to go, I enter the store the people was very kind I was just looking around, and I saw cameras I was very curious at first because I had never bought a camera before in my entire life I'm just turn 18, 3 weeks ago , I decide to get a Sony DSC-P7 I love it the quality is so nostalgic, I guess this is a new hobby, I'm glad I just find an amazing hobby, I just discovered a new world, you got a new subscriber I know I'm going to learn to many new things in your channel, keep it up :)
I'm getting a 2008 digicam soon I'm actually a fan of the low video quality cuz I want the videos to look nostalgic plus it will look more natural when I film in my friend's car cuz it's an older BMW
Great stuff, I just managed to get a canon powershot a430, which is a lot less capable than the a630, but it doesn't really matter with these cameras since that's not really the point of using them nowadays.
Great video, man did it make me feel like a dinosaur. Somewhere on youtube I still have a couple skate videos filmed with these cameras from the mid 2000s, where has the time gone...
I loved this video. and i love the quality of this camera. do you have any recommendations on other similar cameras besides the ones you mentioned, perhaps cheaper ones? I find it hard trying to find the right camera when there are so many, but when you provide these videos and pictures it makes it a lot easier to decide
Old compact cameras are great if they are working well. I had a little Fuji & it was an excellent camera for about 3 or 4 years & then the aperture started sticking & every photo was wildly over exposed. IIRC it was fully automatic so could not set the aperture wide open & let the camera set the shutter speed. So, I just threw it into the trash. If the camera had been a dslr I could have bought a another lens😂
Love the video! Thanks, I’m looking for cheap old cameras but haven’t pulled the trigger on any yet where do you recommend to find the best deal? Foggy conditions is my favorite to shoot cars and nature subscribe to your channel. Love this video is what sold it for me.
Thank you! When I’m looking for a new older camera, the first thing I do is go to the local Camera Shops, and see if they have it. Usually they’re a little cheaper than online. I love foggy conditions so much. Usually in Ontario Canada It gets really foggy here around this time but the weather has been really weird this year.
Surprising how the image quality, especially the video, takes me right back to the mid 00's 😊 I love that honest, grainy, unprocessed look while the CCDs global shutter captures the unstabilised camera shake perfectly 👌🫠
the video quality is so nostalgic.. it's from an era where all you needed for UA-cam was a digital camera (with movie mode) and Windows Movie Maker

Thank you!
The weather is absolutely amazing!
I like older digital cameras. They are still reliable.

Im an ambient artist, looking to find a camera that fits the vibe of my music. Love that you used Morimoto for the sound track for this

the camera quality looks like a paranormal activity movie
Great video as always! Just got a canon ixus 90 and it’s great!
Thank you! I have the canon ixus 90 as well!

Honestly I agree. I have had 3 of my compact cameras stop working. They sometimes come back to life but super unreliable.

I want that kind of digicam huhu🥺🥺
Guys can you recommend any retro cameras of early 2000s, which gonna record like old photos of this era please
Canon sd1000, canon a630, canon sd 900
What settings did you use for taking your photos with the powershot A630 camera? And did you do any post editing in Lightroom or anything like that?
It’s all auto settings. I also added a little contrast
What camera?
great video! im wondering what camera did you use to film your video and what do you edit your videos on?
I filmed this video on my Sony A7iii and I edit all my videos on Final Cut Pro.
@@jordan_winter thank you!!
Whats the background music?
found my family's old Sony Cybershot from the early 2000's, the only problem is that I can't find the charger!
Surprising how the image quality, especially the video, takes me right back to the mid 00's 😊 I love that honest, grainy, unprocessed look while the CCDs global shutter captures the unstabilised camera shake perfectly 👌🫠
Back then things were slower!
Good content
Thanks!
Guys should i buy a cybershot sony or canon powershot?
i’m wondering the same thing as well bc i literally cannot choose 😭
never subscribed someone faster
That’s means a lot
Satisfying
Thank you
Are the images not edited? It's crazy how good they look! 😩🤌🏼
All I did was bring the exposure down a little bit! So not much.
