It isn’t just about being a role model that is important. Moments like are a gauge on how open and accepting the average American TV viewer to seeing minorities in lead roles. If this has good ratings they may push more, if the ratings go down, then it may show many aren’t as accepting. The hope for America that eventually we can see other skin colors as comfortably American as white skin. That as long as that person is talented, hunky/pretty, charismatic and entertaining, skin color doesn’t matter. Take for example Grey’s Anatomy…a much beloved ensemble show with characters of different colors, but would the show have lasted over 15 seasons if Meredith Gray was of East Indian, Korean or Mexican-American?

So Asians now a days are, INTERNATIONALLY, very well represented in the TV/ movie industry by awesome productions, with excellent scripts, gorgeous native Asian actors and actresses, great acting, and clean entertainment.
