I drive for UPS, very glad to see that you will have a turn around and a box for your purchases, most people don't, I"m sure your driver will thank you for that!
The gate looks great! I’m sorry that it was needed to remind others your property is private. I’m sure it gives you a peace of mind knowing that it is there. Thank you for continuing to show your gardening talents with us and your beautiful family ❤🌸🐝
We had the same problem when we first both our property for the first two years. People were coming to the front door, even tho I had posted give signs from the front to about half way up our driveway. And we have a quarter of a mile driveway. People are unconsidered and nosey😂
why, it's so huge, it looks more like a park than a property. can hardly blame people for being drawn to it, she even wants to put a water feature right there, to make it look like a park even more
Aaron smiles so much now. I remember the quiet invisible videographer. Now we all know he loves big trees, mowing, automated water systems, drones. and this wonderful gate. I appreciate your partnership and the time you put into planning all these entryway details.
After COVID I had gates installed. I have a delivery box in front of the gate. Game changer! Living rurally and not having a stranger at your door is comforting. We decorate the gates seasonally and it is usually with things from garden, corn stalks, cedar branches etc. You will love this addition.
PLEASE, PLEASE, use reflectors for nighttime, especially winter. Think black gates at night are sometimes not seen until it is too late. They get crashed a lot around my way in NJ, and usually by delivery vehicles that come roaring up. Stategically placed reflectors and reflectors tape is everything. Your gates are beautiful, 🥰😍 and thank you for all you do.
Lights of some kind, like vintage posts, pillars on either side or even strategically placed spot lights might be more in keeping with the grandeur and scale of the gates don’t you think?
Love the idea of a gate. It does add some protection for the kids. They’re getting more active and it’s just going to be nice knowing that there’s less traffic for them to watch out for. Kids get excited playing their games and sometimes forget to look. When it’s finished, it’s going to look so good. I love it.
The gates are fantastic. They add to the formal atmosphere. I can just envision a new intro to your videos with the gates opening and then drone footage set to nature music especially that includes sounds from the water feature. I’m just so stinking happy for you!! Thank you for sharing your lives & teaching us how to make ours more beautiful.
I actually like watching you do normal, regular garden work. I could watch you separate dahlias every year. It reminds me that gardening is repetitive and there is meditative process to it,
I am SO GLAD you guys got a gate! I know years ago you couldn't for whatever the reason, I can't remember, and I always thought, "Man, I wish they could have a gate." As much as we love people, I feel like the curiosity of folks makes it so they forget there are boundaries. It is an absolute beaut!
The gate is gorgeous! I am so glad that you will have a way to keep strangers from driving so close to your home!! As time goes on and your channel and popularity become even more notable, you will have a beautiful way to secure your land. The gate and that area are going to be a fabulous place to plant and decorate each season especially holidays. I can just imagine it right now. I'm so happy for you, Aaron, and your family that you have been blessed for your hard work. All this beauty came from many hours of sweat, back-breaking work, and lots and lots of Biotone😅
Self-discipline is making myself wait until tomorrow morning to watch the video with my coffee even though I can watch it early. 😂 Also, love when they’re longer than 20 mins, but I know the stats tell you shorter does better. I learn from your videos for sure, but it’s you, Aaron, the kids and the rest of your family who draw me in. It’s can’t miss for me. We all get so excited for all the plans and improvements - like the beautiful gates.
The gate is a beautiful addition to your property. Living in Michigan, the first thing I thought of was we get too much heavy snow for the gates to open in winter. Thankfully, your area usually doesn't get that type of snow consistently.
Your consideration of your neighbours is very gracious and appreciated (by them i'm sure, but by me too). You have no idea how many people i know, wouldn't consider any future visitors making a turn, not to mention their neighbours view across the fence, or tire treads on their land. You two are neighbour goals 😊
OH MY GOODNESS, the opening of the gate was almost more wonderful than listening to the sweet voice of Samantha Grace singing ♥ So So pleased and thrilled for the Le Boutillier family ♥
I like the gates. The size is majestic and the design is magic. Rocks will help in the open space. It's easy to drive into or over a bush. Not so much with a rock.
Agree, rocks and confers will soften the entrance and balance the formality of the gate. I'm not convinced brickwork or pillars are necessary or even desirable. They've done such a good job keeping the property from looking disnneyesque or pretentious up to this point.
No one ever expects they will become a tourist attraction for some people. You are wise to put up the gate and it’s beautiful. Plus you really did need another area to design. 😉♥️. Blessings
That gate is beautiful!!!! Love that you also provide a spot for vehicles to turn around and the drop box is such a great idea. Loved Samantha’s “I don’t want a coat”😂
Did the Saran Wrap without sulfur for the first time last winter 90% of the tubers survived. My bundles were about 2-3 times as big a as Laura’s. I am in zone 6a and stored them in a Rubbermaid storage bin with a lid in an attached unheated garage. I put a layer of newspapers between the bundles of tubers and at the top. I spritzed the top layer of newspaper to slightly moist and not wet once a month. Sooo easy.
I left mine in a paper bag under my desk and 80% survived. A few of them dried out but most are perfectly fine. Time got away from me, but I'm glad I didn't lose any varieties.
Hi, The Gate is fantastic! I think Aaron loves it ! He seemed happy when he showed the gate opening! Great idea to put it in! Rocks and Autumn Blaze will look amazing.
Great choice on the gate. Just beautiful! Love it! There's just something about the feeling of having a gate. Your gate. Enjoy it. You have earned every bit of it. I look forward to you everyday. Thanks for sharing.
You made everyone love you and your family and people want to be near the ones they love so I imagine you DO get a lot of people that drive through the area wanting to see if they can find Laura and Aaron’s home and maybe a glimpse of you folks and your property. I understand that “ want “ people have BUT it is private property and you don’t know me AT ALL so I could never imagine me showing up at your home and taking a private uninvited tour. So yes to the gate and your peace of mind ! 🦃🍁💚🙃
Wow! Wow! Wow! The gate with the pillars, lights and matching maples will be magnificent! Obstructing the view to the house with conifers ( and boulders or rocks) is a great idea 🌲🌲🌲🌳🌳
Beautiful gate! You should get one giant wreath, cut it in half and place it in the middle of the gate so you can still open and close it. So excited for you!

The ideas for toppers on those brick pillars beside the gate are endless. A finial, a planter, matching small statues, something specific and private to your family, i mean endless. Cant wait to see how it all comes together. Your ideas are always awesome.
Love the gate, it will give you a better sense of privacy. As a longtime horse owner I would continue the white fence to the pillars to keep loose horses from getting out. Accidents do happen, and horses can get loose on your property....you want the knowledge that if they get loose they won't get out on the road.
Love your gate. We have one in our property, our problem is when it gets too cold it doesn't always open with remote, you have to manually open B/C it doesn't unfreeze. Yes it helps keep people out thats why we had our gate put up. They just think they can pull in where ever they want, they don't respect ones property. But i do feel more secure. so glad you said you will repeat the tree on the other side. And I agree putting in more evergreens to block the house will be nice. Also the idea of increasing the gravel for a bigger, easier turnaround. And yes, of course, big rocks to help protect from bad drivers. Love the vision.
Those gates are gorgeous. They have an elegance that reminds me of the Hartley. The pointed spindles are smart to avoid birds sitting/pooping on them all the time.
The gate looks great! You and Aaron do not need to explain why you installed it. It’s your property do as you wish. Your family is on the internet and unfortunately some people don’t respect privacy. Also in today’s world it isn’t safe for random vehicles to be able to get onto your property. I would applaud you if you made it even more secure. I love the balance of formal and natural you are cultivating! The gates and new flower garden are very much your style, and the south garden and pond area keep it all from being too straight-laced. Lovely.
I’m sitting here all excited and waiting for my bulbs to arrive from The Netherlands today. What is more suitable than watching Laura do chores no their beautiful garden that gives me so much inspiration. ❤

I really like the gate. It makes it look more formal. And I really like the idea, especially since there's so many houses being built around you. Looks great.!❤

I guess with prices being so high on everything, I just kinda quit. But now, your videos make me think, I just need to keep going. Landscaping gives me joy and fills my heart! So, I’m currently going through estimates on an 30 ft long x 7 foot wide iron bridge to replace the old wooden bridge. Plus, I’ve had a very old wrought iron gazebo lying in pieces that I bought off Facebook marketplace years ago. I’m getting estimates to repair and powder coat that too! I’m back on that horse!!❤
You have those 2 giant, square, black planters you could use next to the gate for time being to stop people driving around the gate till you decide on something more permanent
@@alomax66 And you know how when you hear such a good idea you can’t get it out of your head? I can just see it! And it would be so beautiful and grand and yet grounded. Mmmhmmm. I hope…!!!
The gate and the surrounding area looks fabulous! It will give you more of a sense of privacy as well. The idea of having a "locker" for UPS, (etc) is such a great idea. So happy for you guys!!
The year that I used this dahlia storage method I didn’t lose a single tuber. I stopped doing it because I like to grow from smaller clumps rather than single tubers, but other than that caveat it’s a great method.
I’ve commented and said this before, I’m on the boat that you should definitely put a waterfall by your gate entrance. To many plants at the gate would make it messy feeling. I hope you go with it, it would be grand and match the feel the rest of the property has transformed into. Also I’m on board with Aaron to have a pool by your basketball court. Laura, After seeing your visit to Chicago at the gals property who gifted you the fish statues (which you loved ;) It solidify Arons point! How dramatic and elegant a pool like hers with fire and seating would be at your home 😮 Like hers you could make it flow seamless with the rest of the garden and be spectacular. Both would add Much needed structure to your garden that it’s lacking and be beautiful in the winter! ❤

@patriciacole8773 thank you 🤗
@@alomax66 And you know how when you hear such a good idea you can’t get it out of your head? I can just see it! And it would be so beautiful and grand and yet grounded. Mmmhmmm. I hope…!!!
The gate is a good idea with the kids running around! My oldest was run over in 1987 , she’s fine & almost 40 .
The gate and the surrounding area looks fabulous! It will give you more of a sense of privacy as well. The idea of having a "locker" for UPS, (etc) is such a great idea. So happy for you guys!!
The gate is so majestic...especially when it was opening !!
Laura, After seeing your visit to Chicago at the gals property who gifted you the fish statues (which you loved ;)
It solidify Arons point! How dramatic and elegant a pool like hers with fire and seating would be at your home 😮
Like hers you could make it flow seamless with the rest of the garden and be spectacular.
Both would add Much needed structure to your garden that it’s lacking and be beautiful in the winter! ❤
That gate! Now your property truly looks like the magnificent estate of gentry.
Opening the gate feels magical 😊
You can never go wrong with dusty miller. How beautiful!!!!!
Love the gate! It’s like jewelry for your gorgeous gardens.
