    Wow! The Swiss Army Knife of camping trailers. Thanks for the great review. I've added the XV-2 to my wishlist!

    As you mentioned, most of the really great trailer designs come from either Australia or South Africa; not unlike the almost impossible task of getting a really great vehicle, which for some reason or another, we either can't make, won't make, or prohibit those made elsewhere from import. It really bugs the crap outta me that the innovative America of my youth is getting a bit thin. Which is why I appreciate Schutt so much. They really do make some killer designs; if only they could cut some weight. Although, Jeep has promised for more years than I can remember, a tough diesel for their Wrangler. I'm not holding my breath. I foresee gasoline prices skyrocketing in the near future; so a heavy Schutt trailer just may make a wanker out of any trip past the city limits. Drifta Offroad Tourer Trailer is one of those foreign jobs that would be a better choice for weight and ability, but there ya go again; can't get them here. Great vid! Thanks!

    Is there enough room in the fridge compartment to not block the air vents on the back of the fridge? I'm planning on getting one of these, doing final research. Thanks for the great video.

    I am in the process of buying one of these. My only worry is there is no ventilation for the fridge. I wonder how hard it would be to route some air movement into that part of the box?

    my ? is about the tent when you've gone out camping im sure you've been in ran and storms how well did the tent hold up and how dry does it stay inside and the gap between the trailer and tent does the wind mess with that when your pulling

    Does the RTT rack have struts that will let it ride lower during transit and then raise up to awning height once in camp or is it a set height all the time?

    How did your Jeep do towing the XV2 both on road and off? Did it have to work a lot harder? Gas mileage take a big hit? Thanks.

    Nice. What is the height of the bottom of the rack when fully taised and how low does it go when lowered?

    Great review, nice to see a U.S. built trailer that can compete with the Aussie trailers. What was the cost if you don't mind me asking?

    • @reece7259
      @reece7259 8 років тому

      I think they cost around $11k

    Hi! What shower unit is that? Thanks for this video. I'm thinking about buying an xventure trailer as well. I'm trying to decide between the XV2 and XV3. :-)

      I love the extra room that I get in my XV2. The shower enclosure I believe I just got at Cabelas. I don't remember the brand.

    • @Wildernessways
      @Wildernessways  8 років тому

      Nope, just make sure that it is dry when you put it away.

    How stable is it at highway speed with that kind of hitch? I just think sway would be a problem.

    • @Wildernessways
      @Wildernessways  6 років тому

      Nope, sway is not an issue, have pulled it at 70 MPH in strong cross winds, never a concern.

    The counter looks way too low. Isn't it an awkward working height? Makes me wonder what other design oversights exist elsewhere on the unit.

    • @Wildernessways
      @Wildernessways  7 років тому +1

      I am 5'11" and the counter height is perfect for me. I don't see this as any kind of an oversight. If you want it higher, jut back the driver's wheel up on a leveling ramp

    How much?

    • @Wildernessways
      @Wildernessways  8 років тому

      I would recommend that you go to the Shutt Industries website as there are so many options it makes my head hurt. But expect to pay what you might pay for a nice pop up trailer.

    It is sad to see that we can not even get close to any of the Aussies'. This was such a disappointment!... I though I was going to see something special that could go hand to hand with the Patriot X1 or the UEV440 / 490... To you guys that are giving awesome reviews... I don't know what product are you reviewing and what do you have to compare to.

    • @Wildernessways
      @Wildernessways  7 років тому +3

      I am not comparing it to anything. I am simply reviewing a product that I really like and meets my needs in an off road trailer. The Aussie units are great, but getting your hands on one up here in the United States is a problem. Actually, about 9,500 miles of them.

    • @bcjaliu
      @bcjaliu 7 років тому +1

      Yeah but the aussie units are like 30-40 grand, or even more depending on the unit. I think the Patriot is in the mid to high 30's in the US, plus I don't know how you'd service it if stuff breaks down in the US. They are also a lot more complex and elaborate, which does come with obvious potential problems of reliability that a simpler set up like the trailer above won't suffer from. I'd rather have reliability, lighter weight and lower cost when it comes to a camping trailer.

      Do you want a towable condo or something built from the largest military trailer company that is proven. Take your 40k trailer and park it at the Marriot you fit in better there
