    Wrong. Insulate the ceiling BEFORE the walls, that way the walls hold up the edge of the ceiling. This is common knowledge on earth.

      Hi there, thanks for reaching out. You can install a drain, just make it as small as you possibly can and get a tight fitting plug for it to prevent any cold air from escaping. If you have any other questions please email us at hello@storeitcold.com

      Hi Benjamin, thanks for reaching out. The roof of the trailer is not load bearing so our solution was to build a stand in the cooler that is anchored on the floor. You can set a shot of it at 5:53. Email us at hello@storeitcold.com and we can walk you through how we did it.

    Why did you decide to use contact cement instead of standard vinyl flooring adhesive? Also, how the heck did you initially get the floor in place with glue on both sides? Did you step on the glue? Or have someone suspended mission impossible style?

    • @Storeitcold
      @Storeitcold  4 роки тому +2

      Hi there, thanks for reaching out! We originally used vinyl flooring adhesive but it did not stick well and bubbled. The contact cement worked much better in our situation. As long as you've got your flooring securely glued you should be good. As far as spreading the glue, having a tall person with a very long wingspan helps!

    good ideal IF you want to knock your compressor out. Running at low temps on an ac unit will eventually send liquid to the piston....NOT GOOD!

    • @Storeitcold
      @Storeitcold  Рік тому

      Hi there, thanks for reaching out. Compressors on modern AC units are now scroll compressors (for increased efficiency) and have built-in suction line accumulators. Scroll compressors don't have pistons and can handle potential "flooding" well - as opposed to their reciprocating counterparts that were previously used. This was already observed and reported (as a plus) when using modern window ACs for cooling purposes back in 2009 in the report done by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority on the CoolBot. You can read that report here and please email us at hello@storeitcold.com with any other questions.

    Could this design be modified, to make this a mobile walk in freezer, rather then cooler?

    • @Storeitcold
      @Storeitcold  5 років тому

      Hi Tom, thank for reaching out. We have yet to break the freezing barrier! But to be fair, we haven't been trying at all. The CoolBot uses a window air conditioner to get our coolers down to 34F, they are unable to get to freezing temperatures.
      For a walk-in freezer, you will need to go with a traditional HVAC system. However, if you figure out an alternate way to make it work, let us know! We'd love to hear it.

    Where did you purchase the insulation.?I am having a problem finding the R25.

    • @Storeitcold
      @Storeitcold  Рік тому

      Hi Marvin, thanks for reaching out. Most hardware stores carry rigid foam insulation. The R value of each layer builds, so you'll need to source enough boards to get you to R-25. For example, if your hardware store carries 2 inch thick R-10 boards and 1 inch thick R-5 boards, you'll want two R-10 boards and one R-5 board to get you to the recommended R-25. Could you give some recommendations for shelving?

    • @Storeitcold
      @Storeitcold  6 років тому

      Hi Brett, thanks for reaching out. We did not put any shelving in our mobile cooler, but in our shed style cooler we purchased storage racks at our local hardware store.
      We recommend using standing racks rather than trying to screw into the wall. Your cooler should have a minimum of four inches of insulation, making it very difficult to try to attach a shelf to as you would need a very long screw to reach the studs.

    • @Storeitcold
      @Storeitcold  5 років тому

      Hi there, thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately at this time no video has or will be made specially for door insulation. That is a very good suggestion thought!
      We do however go over it briefly in our DIY Indoor Cooler installation video which you can find HERE
      : ua-cam.com/video/TEqJJhGzMxs/v-deo.html
      We recommend an insulated exterior door that will have an outward swing. Make sure it has weather sealing and make sure not to damage the sealing during installation. Also, plastic curtains at the entrance will help keep some of that cool air inside while the door is opened.

    • @Storeitcold

    Don't try to run your ac off your car battery. If you go through all the trouble for a nice mobile cooler, use solar and a battery bank or a generator. Don't ruin your car battery.

    • @Storeitcold
      @Storeitcold  4 роки тому

      Hi Toby, that's a good recommendation. A healthy battery and alternator are a must for this so it is always recommended to check with your mechanic the condition of yours. Many users that only need to run their "small" A/Cs (10K or smaller) have good results with an inverter, as long as they choose a good quality one and the cooler is not a 24/7 necessity. A generator is highly recommended for applications that will require the A/C to run for long times or for A/Cs bigger than 12K.
