There are many expressions about depression. Interested in dead animals, what would happen if I held my breath all the way in the bathtub, would I be comfortable if I didn't avoid cars? Things like this. It shows the process that girls overcome through solidarity. The lyrics also say don't give up and let's try again. It's like a cheering song for people who are mentally in danger right now. Let's do this together. It seems to show how we can overcome together in solidarity, whether in the bathtub, on the rooftop, or in the grave.
That part where they show the two members on the roof, each with only one wing… is very symbolic, like you said. The members there are S1 Seoyeon and S24 JiYeon… it’s a book holder metaphor. It’s like the all the members from S1 to S24 are one (bird). Just amazing visual references in the video. Great song.

This also means that TripleS is "1 girl" because odf the group starting with Yoon Seoyeon and Jeong Hyerin and ending the group with Jeong Haerin (Seoah) and Ji Suhyeon (Jiyeon), which means they are 24 but also 1.
They met my expectation with this song. They deserved more than 160k view.

This is it, tripleS is finally complete! Two years after the first member was unveiled. This is a very big moment.
Amazing song, amazing MV, amazing album! I watched some live stages of this song already and it's goddamn amazing how they manage to fit 24 girls on stage and have them be this synchronised. It's absolutely mesmerising to watch.
The very first unit back in October 22, Acid Angel from Asia had the dance scene with the giant black wings. The song was Generation. Very first tripleS song ever.
About those "high expectations": I feel like you (like MANY other people) were completely misinformed about it in the beginning. And now you're not really remembering the correct details. The subunit system of tripleS had this 100k album sales threshold in order for that very specific subunit to get a comeback. It's not that Jaden Jeong (CEO, also the original creator of LOONA btw) himself has unrealistic expectations. Rather, every unit was supposed to be a one-off with only one album and future projects would always be new units with a new combination of members. Only if a unit would reach an insane number of 100k sold albums, would that very specific unit be considered to release another album with the exact same members.
However, I'm not sure if that system is still in place. I feel like I've seen something about them abolishing the 100k sales threshold and just releasing music and units in any way they want and what the fans are directly voting for. And if it's decided that AAA with those four members Hyerin, Yooyeon, Nakyoung and Yubin should get another comeback, it just might happen. I don't know how likely that really is though.
Stuff you've missed? Well! There's actually two entire subunits of tripleS that completely flew under your radar! These are the songs:

tripleS Aria - Door
And tripleS +(KR)ystal Eyes have released a music video for their b-side Touch if you're interested. That was the unit with the smartphone themed MV about a year ago.
tripleS are also set to appear on Weekly Idol very soon which should be super chaotic with this huge of a group :D

Abolishing the 100k sales is a bit complicated, basically for Love/Evol they said they're permanent no matter what they sell. Although we really don't know what will happen in the future with other subunits, they were the whole concept of the group but we also usually had an idea of future plans when any unit started promoting. This time we didn't get any new gravity yet, but they might still be planning something for NXT+Glow (or Glow alone even).
After that i assume they'd go back to new Gravity units with the 'naturally occurring Gravity' for the OT24 release each year. ^^

a lot of people seem to be lost with the subunit sales things so here's a little explanation :
the agency (modhaus) and their producer (jaden jeong, who also worked on loona or onlyoneof) create subunits (aaa, krystal eyes, evolution & lovelution) for the idols to be able to promote themselves in a more singular way. although these subunits are debuting with several different combinations of idols, they'll not be able to make a comeback if they don't reach a certain amount of sales. nothing to do with the ceo having "incredibly unrealistic expectations", it's more like a way to see which subunit and which concept the fans appreciate the most!
Few people, myself included, have any interest in dealing with this

Hi, just to correct something, they have already scrapped the idea of needing certain amount of sales to prevent the subunit from disbanding. None of the older subunits are considered disbanded, they just don't have comebacks because Modhaus wants to keep things fresh by always having new subunits. That's not to say we won't ever see the older subunits comeback one day 🙂

And MV where literally GIRLS DON'T DIE, they jump of rooftops, they can't get hit by a car.... It's amazing
Except they do, I think they die everytime and the MV is showing girl after girl dying and a bird appears, some of them are alone, some in duo and some in groups, but u can tell them all have issues, reasons to maybe not be around.... It's really interesting
i could really connect to the message and the lyrics of the song and video as a female that’s around their age. i commend them for always putting out great music and even more powerful videos.
There are multiple Callbacks to their previous Sub Units
The Group Scene where all 24 Members dance together on Sand is a Callback to tripleS LOVElution's Girls Capitalism since there was a similar Set but with a Mountain of Teddy Bears and just Member SoHyun (the Member that has the Solo Shot with the crows falling) for example and also a Group Dance Scene.
Their Outfits are a representation of pretty much all the previous Sub Units (tripleS AAA, OT10, EVOLution, LOVElution) except for Aria & KRE ( +(KR)ystal Eyes) the only two Sub Units so Far with a complete bright Concept (LOVElution had both a Dark & Bright Concept)
Basically every single Location in that MV has been part of previous MV's from the other Sub Units (except for the Office Building and no Classroom is seen in the Girls Never Die MV like in the +(KR)ystal Eyes Cherry Talk MV)
Also Locations from the Members' Reveal Trailers like the Scene with Jiwoo & the Bird on the Ground that Location was seen in a Member Reveal Trailer before also the Color Choices like the Intense Green Light or Red Light is reminiscened of some of the Member Reveal Trailers and how it was shot and also of the Rising MV with the fast Cuts and so on and also Generation a bit if I remember correctly
The Crows falling is (for me) symbolism about what happens if you are under immens Pressure, which causes you to not be able to focus on your Tasks (like a Bird who's Task it is to Flap its Wings to keep itself Up in the Air) so the Crow is falling down because it can't focus and orientate on it's Surroundings (like Hayeon who (almost) got Run over because she wasn't paying attention to her Surroundings)
And all the Girls show various Mental Stages (Care free & Happy(Office Scene) , nervous and under Adrenaline (Soomin Gaming on her PC) , Sadness & Desperation (Naky running to somewhere & Xinyu crying) & Depression (which is showcased by Yooyeon not caring about a Healthy Diet so she eats some Ice Cream so that the Sugar gives her a (short) Serotonin Boost, also Depression leads to Laziness /not doing Things properly so she lies in the Bathtub with all her clothes on)
And yes the Wings are a Callback to tripleS AAA
The nice Detail in Girls Never Die though is that S1 Soyeon & S24 Jiyeon (formerly known as Ji Suhyeon which is literally written and pronounced basically the same as Seoyeon so they made a Gravity (Voting Period) where WAV could choose a new (Stage) Name for her so there is no more confusion between them xD)😊 come together here and transform together into a Crow
also them playing Patty Cake is reminiscened of the Generation MV (in the Beginning they also played it)
So the whole Theme
is basically Rebirth by going through tough Times but since they have each other and us WAV (& supportive Staff) they make it through those Times 😊
Also I haven't seen anyone Yet (while writing this Comment) mentioning that when they do their Group Choreo and those Hand Formations they form Symbols (in the Middle of the Screen) one of them is from EVOLution's Album called MUJUK ⟡ which means invincible in Korean
PS: After some Research it might be Magpie's in the MV not Crows necessarly the Magpie in Korea Stands for: a bird of great good fortune, of sturdy spirit and a provider of prosperity and development".
Also their Clothes turning Black and them wearing white Shoes might be a Reference to 2 B Sides by them: Black Soul Dress (tripleS LOVElution Album) & White Soul Sneakers (ASSEMBLE24 (OT24 Debut) Album)
Edit: according to the Members in the MV Reaction the Birds are actually Crows and not Magpies oh well 🤷🏻♂️

The comment you read about "high expectations" and "acid angels from asia" is a case of misinterpretation.
tripleS as a group is meant to be promoted as sub-units and changing the members' lineup. These sub-units aren't supposed to be permanent because the members are supposed to be rotating among each other. If the sub-unit reaches a 100k album sales, as a BONUS, the group will promote again with the same members. Instead of thinking "they didn't reach a 100k sales, they are gonna disband", it's more of like, "they sold 100k sales, they can promote again in the future as a treat for the fans" type of thing.

I really loved this song, and I agree with your comment at the end about the mix of moods and metaphors present in the sound. I love K-pop that isn't afraid of looking at some darker emotions and then shining a light into them.

YooYeon's 'Wanna Start Again? ' If you play the strange voice that comes after the lyrics in reverse, it becomes the sentence 'We unite as ONE, TWENTY FOUR dreams'.

the thought process behind giving a subunit a comeback by reaching 100k album sales was something like "ok, since people seem to like this subunit, I guess we can give the subunit another release", aka it's just a bonus
