You should place the barb with the 3rd star in between of the archer and the spear goblin. This allows your archer to deal 4 damage for each attack and 2 damage per hit for the spear goblin

I don't think it's that underrated, because I'm in the legendary arena and the main decks I see there are barbarian king with 2 elixir troops and skeleton king lvl8
