- Mario 64 is such a timeless masterpiece. If I ever have grandchildren, their first task as babies will be to get a sub 15 on an M64 speedrun.

The pure talent and dedication it takes to speedrun one game will always be impressive to me. Honestly, I'd even consider speedrunning to be a bit of a sport. The fact that speedrunners will spend dozens of hours just to improve their time by half a second just shows how persistent some people can be.

Speedrunners will restart a whole run when they lose 3 seconds on an entire section regardless where they are in the game.

Being one that is hopefully going to start speed running super Mario. 64 on real hardware (N64) I can confirm that some of the top runners put so much effort into their runs. Creating simplified strats to save just a few frames or to reduce lag is everything to a top runner
