Wild detail at 6:48 when the rev sings “I may be out of my mind” they changed that to “He may be out of his mind” in the recorded version. So cool to hear this version and how it evolved!!
it's so cool hearing a song that you know and recognise, but it's so different yet the same in many ways. (Also never thought I'd hear Jimmy and Matt sing "Tonight we're all Batman")
I'm used to Demos being at least somewhat similar to the finished product. But this, especially lyrically, is almost entirely different. It's rather jarring! However, hearing Rev on the drums is always welcome 🥹
@@GustavoGplay its more that the lyrics are the last thing done in the song. for parts without any finalized lyrics its just the rev mumbling something as the idea for how the song should flow before they figure out what the finalized lyrics will be in that segment. most of their earlier demos sound like this. we just don't usually get to hear the earlier demos much.
@@phatass4833 if only the lyrics were polished in that demo for the rev's part and not him mumbling unfinished lyrics. It's amazing how good he was as a singer despite very rarely ever singing in any of their songs.
If Jimmy had gotten to properly record this song before he passed, his vocals would've sounded even better with Matt's but even just hearing both of them singing the melodies together is great
3:19 Literally is Pinkly Smooth with Jimmy's voice with the Ohhh Ohhh harmonies....imagine this song in the next PS album with their own goblin experimental metal style,it could be great, and many more demos that wasn't present and finished before
tonight… we all… BATMAN
When you're drunk at the karaoke
We all Beat Men (quarry men)
Best comment of the year so far.. also goes for the buried alive demo hahahaha
@@joeburrows215 well it makes sense considering the rev was drunk all the time
@@zachburns7086tbf I think they just hadn’t decided the final lyrics yet so the rev was just mumbling a melody that would work

3:19 Thats Drop D
First thing I noticed when I hear that part. Really wish drop d made it onto unfortunate snort

I guess they had to change a lot for it to make sense, since during the Rev's final weeks, it must have been hard to find coherence in his writings...
Plus, the final version better reflects what the band and the fans were feeling after his death

He’s mumbling through harmonies to share his idea how it should be structured. Learn music theory.

the revs everything is so beautiful he takes me away hes so talented at like everything
Explains some of the live approaches Syn has taken to this one, specially during the intro. Awesome stuff!

❤ oh my god , is jimmy the rev voice ,thank you for sharing this demo🤟
Bro they should have kept that breakdown at like 5 mins
They did. You must be talking about a different time stamp. The one at 5 mins is in the actual song
