The motorcycle sound was a guitar, and this song will never be beaten for what it is, a masterpiece.
Marvin Lee Aday RIP ❤️
Yes, the female back up singer (Karla DeVito) is on the Paradise from the Dashboard Lights video...she was a back up singer for Meatloaf on tour for years...
This song is actually about him dying in a motorcycle crash. It’s his soul that’s leaving his body and flying away like a bat out of hell.
🔥👍👍He grew up around the corner from me. RIP
Everyone lives up and around some corner of everyone else in the world as well ...... eventually
When Jim Steinman teamed up with Meat Loaf there was something magical that happened. The pieces just came together perfectly.
The collection of musicians on "Bat Out of Hell" is quite impressive. The guitar was played by Todd Rundgren, who also produced the record. Other musicians are from the E Street Band and Rundgren's own band Utopia. Jimmy Steinman, who wrote the song, is on piano as well.
One note on the woman in the video. Her name is Karla DeVito and she is, indeed, the same woman from the "Paradise By The Dashboard Light" video. However the person who you are hearing is not Ms DeVito. The singer on the album is a woman named Ellen Foley who declined the invitation to tour with Meat Loaf. The videos are carefully synced up to the album tracks, but it's two different people involved.
it was the same concert as "Paradice by the dashboard light" yes same girl!
RIP Meatloaf and Jim. This song and album are legendary classic.
Meat is a true legend. I love that man’s music. Thanks for the reaction to this great song!
2 words....Raw....Passion.
They had oxygen waiting for him backstage. He did put his all in it. He is greatly missed!!
Perfection. Everything he did was amazing.
Two Of Of Three Ain't Bad.
Thanks for sharing that 😊❤ meatloaf was easy to love. Heaven can wait is another beautiful song.
THE ALBUM IS THE ONE THE BEST EVER MADE🤩
Stage actor turned Rock Star
Jim Steinman (the piano player) wrote em and Meatloaf sang em
This debut album was HUGE in 1978
The entire album is great, no filler
Suggestions (from the same album)?
Two out of Three ain't bad
You took the Words Right out of my mouth
Nice one. Jayy! 🎶
For Cryin' Out Loud is another, damn....the whole album is by far the best, ever!
Like a bat out of hell means moving very fast and carelessly.
Great concept album.
He was amazing. Every song was like a short movie. That was from the same concert as Paradise by the Dashboard Light.
I've loved this song and album since it came out.
Meatloaf and Jim Steinman, overdone, over produced and completely over the top, Brilliant.
Both men were a force of nature and this is what happens when two one offs work together. RIP
I'm in tears here, this one got me, your expression, Jayy, priceless, I think that's what did it. You always wear your heart on your sleeve and I love you for it
Your commentary frankly touched me me! Meatloaf was the first concert I went to at 12 or 13 in 94..my dad took me..it's a long story, but a great one. Yet, your connection w him, while possibly not even understanding it yet or why is inspiring. Some ppl just have the ability to connect w their audience! Ww have lost several of those artist over the last decade or two..meatloaf was obviously one of them! You honor him by digging in and enjoying his music, his gifts! Thank you for bringing us along!
The guy on the Piano, Jim Steinman, wrote all of Meatloaf s songs
Jayy, re. your question, yes that was Ellen Foley, this was from the same concert as "Paradise By the Dashboard Light". 🥰😁🌹🕊️
Im sure jack black was kind of emulating meat. What a pair of multi talented dudes 🤘❤️ this album is for the ages
Loved your reaction and respect for Meatloaf........this has always been in my top 3 albums of all time .......I grew up listening to this album as a young teen, burned it out 3x .......cried when he passed also credit needs to be given to Jim Steinman
Meat Loaf, rather. Bat Out Of Hell is a masterpiece. The song, the album is the work of pure genius. It's definitely my favourite, nothing comes close. Saw Meat on all of his 12 visits to Ireland, touring. Meat said, Ireland was his favourite place to tour and always loved coming 'home'. I am so so lucky for those memories to cherish. Regret I never met the big man. I came so so close in 1995 at Dublin's Point Theatre too...............
*Meatloaf - "Heaven Can Wait". Please react to that one.. I've only been requesting it forever lol*
Several of the musicians on this album are from the band Utopia, including Todd Rundgren (who also produced the record) on the guitar. I'm mentioning that because you might dig Utopia &/or Rundgren's own solo work.
The woman who is on the album is Ellen Foley. She was getting into television acting and decided to take a role on the sitcom "Night Court" instead of touring with Meat Loaf. The woman in the video is Karla DeVito. In order to avoid the extra expense of re-recording the vocal parts for the video they just synced Ellen's vocal to Karla's performance. For the record (😊✌️) Ms DeVito is actually singing, not just lip syncing to the album tracks.
If you love Meatloaf, you need to check out 'For Crying Out Loud'. Is is an absolutely stunning love song. You'll have to do lyrics version because there isn't a good video version. You will love it!!!
2 out of 3 my favorite meatloaf song
Meatloaf for crying out loud please
We lost Jim Steinman not too long ago too. He did all the songwriting. There is a great "Classic Album" documentary on the album. We actually owe alot to Todd Rundgren for this album and the success of Meat Loaf.
Yes, that's the same girl, Karla DeVito. The guy beside her with the long hair and mustache is Rory O'Dowd, who is probably best known as the guy that sings the line "Turn around, bright eyes" on Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart"
The story is about a man who has a one night stand with a woman and leaves her, but realizes he loves her so he turns around to go back to her. He is riding his motorcycle too fast and crashes. He dies and the last part describes his spirit leaving his body and watching himself dying. Then his spirit flies away "like a bat out of hell."
Meat Loaf also also played Robert "Bob" Paulson in David Fincher's "Fight Club".
So love that you love his music. I've been loving his music for over 25 years. He was epic, and i love how much you think so!
My personal favorite is objects in the rear view mirror it's such a tearjerker and you have to watch the video it really helps you understand what's going on
Oh yes, same here! Please react to this, you'll be blown!
Please react to "Heaven Can Wait", by MeatLoaf
🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸 His other of two (Dashboard) GREAT songs. The woman in white is Karla Devito. And yes she was in Dashboard. A great soloist in her own right. Check out Cool World and Bloody Bess. And by the way, she was not actually singing on those two Meatloaf songs. She was lip syncing to the voice of ( I think) Ellen Foley. Why? No clue. As I said she is a great singer. Great reaction Jayy.
They recorded the whole album with Ellen Foley who ended moving up to TV on the sitcom Night Court. They didn't want to re-record for the video, so Karla lip synched, but sang all live performances.
Such a Shame this man was never inducted into the rock and roll hall of Fame, because he sure deserved it
I love how the graveyard in the video looks. So lovely in at dawn or dusk with the trees surround the house.
Check out his duet with Cher- Dead Ringer For Love
Brilliant reaction video 👌👏 and absolutely right there will NEVER be another Meat Loaf 💯
Miss Meatloaf. A real musucian
Love your eyes during the video
I saw this live... Incredible night.
I keep seeing it almost every reaction, check out Rock and Roll Dreams by Meatloaf. The video is amazing, shot by the guy who would direct the transformers movies over 10 years later, and guests appears a then unknown Angelina Jolie.
Same girl!
Same concert cut!😅
His vocal range is absolutely outstanding, He was and is the best of the best!!
Karla de Vito is only lips sync! The real singer is Ellen Foley!!
Objects in the rear view mirror, live.
No, your not tripping it's the same girl in paradise
You need to watch the movie Roadie staring MEATLOAF. Promise you will love it.🤘R.I.P.😢
No you are not tripping!
Always thought he sung “tearing at the hole, faster than any other boy has ever gone”? In fact that prob was the original idea 🤣
It's about the girl
Please react to some more Rammstein
That is her, i recognise her erm top.
Not a motorcycle anthem. Go back and listen to it again without the video. ❤
You should react to Don’t Cry-guns n roses live in tokyo , if u haven’t already:)
Here's a gorgeous song that was co-written by Jim Steinman and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
As far as I know there was never a video made.
If you didn't love Meat Loaf before, you will after hearing this song!

She is the sameone
Same girl but she isn't the real singer...she's on stage for show
