Hey viewers, I have jotted it down and I would like to share with you the key point of this lesson according to my level of understanding. Kindly correct me wherever i am wrong. this few minutes video is watched again and again in several sittings for a deeper approach. Lesson 1: What is Qi (Chee) General meaning = All forms of Energy TCM meaning = The force which keeps humans alive * it can be aggregate in material form, eg, Food (bread, rice etc), wood, oils etc * it can be disperse (rarefied) in delicate energy, eg working, heat etc * Energy and matter are always continuously transforming in our body and in the Universe. Essentially , there is a constant aggregation and dispersion of Qi everywhere. * Qi is not just a medical term, but it is used in chinese culture to express the emotions eg, i) Angry = shang Qi ii) Gentle = Ha Qi iii) Strength (physical) = Li Qi * Humans are stationed between Heaven and Earth and get resonance from the channels of two way transmission of Qi between Heaven and Earth. (Resonation = to be filled with powers), Humans are also a part of that transmission. * This is the reason that, for optimum health, our lifestyle must be harmonious with nature. A person living in a dense concrete populated area with polluted air and noise can never be healthy, whatever good food he is eating. **Manifestation = appearance, event, action, or object that clearly shows or embodies something abstract or theoretical. * Manifestations of Qi in our body (Means, different forms of Qi in humans body) In TCM, our body is composed and governed by the following vital substances. i) Essence: (most material form of Qi) ii) Qi: (Here, take the broader meaning of Qi as a vital substance which is responsible for performing physiological functions of our body. Later we will come to know that this is not a single Qi, but a group of Qi running in humans body, namely, yuan qi, ying qi, wei qi, lung qi, spleen qi and many more) iii) Blood: iv) Body Fluids: v) Mind: (most imaterial form of Qi) Recap of Lesson-1 1) Qi is the energy that makes up everything in the Universe. 2) in the universe (also in our body), Qi is always in action in the form of dispersion or aggregation. This dispersion or aggregation can be in different levels of density. From the TCM point of view, the density of qi can be as delicate as our thinking (Mind), and if aggregated, its density can be as solid as our bones. 3) Physiological functions of the human body can also be considered as qi (or a group of qi).
Thanks for your understanding about Qi. For Korean understand this as ‘Gi’ but use same Chinese character. I understand Qi is a unseen body such as spiritual, psychological, and moving power like exercise and moving inside all organs by power ‘Qi’. Material means body and moving power for materials means ‘Qi’. This means to extend to Yin and Yang. Like E = mc^2 the principle[theory] of relativity. Everything has two sides. Sometimes we confuse the which sides but usually has the both sides.

In TCM, our body is composed and governed by the following vital substances.
i) Essence: (most material form of Qi)
ii) Qi: (Here, take the broader meaning of Qi as a vital substance which is responsible for performing physiological functions of our body. Later we will come to know that this is not a single Qi, but a group of Qi running in humans body, namely, yuan qi, ying qi, wei qi, lung qi, spleen qi and many more)

Recap of Lesson-1
1) Qi is the energy that makes up everything in the Universe.
This is great! After putting information in our heads, bringing them out again with our own words is such a great way to learn. Thank you for sharing!
