Bruce loved the sound of that 12 string he played for this song. It was a gift from Myles Goodwyn, who gave it to him at a Songwriters Circle. We pestered Bruce for years to have him visit our little Parrsboro town. He was a busy guy. In August 2018 Bruce and Runrig played to a crowd of over 50,000 at Stirling City Park. In May 2019 he played to a crowd of about 100 in Parrsboro. He did not come for the money or the glory. He came for the people of Parrsboro and as a favour to us. Bruce was not feeling well that night but he played his heart out and gave the audience a magical performance. He never left anything in the tank, even on nights when his illness was taking a toll on his health. Many are unaware of his kindness, love of people and respect for his fans. His untimely death was devastating, he was one of a kind and we shall never forget him. - Steve and Kerstin

His version of the water is wide and every river you have to cross are spiritually up lifting with Runrig and their Christian Soaring on Angels wings. Never forgotten you left us crying.

The First Song I Heard from him was: Carrickfergus. Found on a CD of Celtic Crossing. I immediately Fell in Love with His voice. It was in 2012 in a small Shop in Kilmartin. (Scotland). I have been on concerts of this Band and of course of concerts of RUNRIG. I am soooo sad that I will never See him Life again. 😓😓😓😓😓
Such a nice Person... ❤😓😓😓 Dear God, I dont understand this Plan of yours.. 😔... "Life is hard". For Family, Friends and Fans of Bruce 😥😥😥😥😥😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞

So sad! I had the chance to meet Bruce after a Runrig gig in Birmingham England, not only a great musician but a great voice and a properly nice man!

A beautiful voice silenced too soon. So sorry to lose one of Nova Scotia's best singers and songwriters. A life cut too short.
Great song RIP Bruce
I always loved the authentic sound of Bruce. No auto tune required for this very talented man.
Wonderfully distinctive voice. Gone too soon.
