LYRICS:
I remember that night
You fell asleep under the truck when it got late
In the morning when I pulled out to look for you
Thank God I rolled out straight
Nothing was ever too much
Doing flips off the roof
It's like you were cheating death left and right
But you still wanted proof
I was thinking about you just yesterday
How you were gonna stop by on your way
I had some things that I wanted to talk to you about
Had some things that I wanted to say
But now I stand here in your flannel shirt
Your mom couldn't bear to give it to goodwill
It's not even cold out, but I wear it still
You were always there when we hit the wall
Now no one's gonna break our fall
We laughed until we got drunk
We drank until we fight
And then we'd laugh again over my fat lip
While you were icing your eye
Then you got behind the needle
Chasing the next high
And then you managed to escape it
You got that job and you married your wife
And I was thinking about you just yesterday
How you were gonna stop by on your way
I had some things that I wanted to talk to you about
Had some things that I wanted to say
But now I stand here in your flannel shirt
Your mom couldn't bear to give it to goodwill
It's not even cold out, but I wear it still
You were always there when we hit the wall
Now no one's gonna break our fall
Break our fall
Break our fall
Break our fall
Now no one's gonna break our fall
And I was thinking about you just yesterday
How you were gonna stop by on your way
I had some things that I wanted to talk to you about
Had some things that I wanted to say
But now I stand here in your flannel shirt
Your mom couldn't bear to give it to goodwill
It's not even cold out, but I wear it still
You were always there when we hit the wall
Now no one's gonna break our fall
Break our fall
Break our fall
Break our fall
Now no one's gonna break our fall
I'll see you when I see you
Oh, there's maybe
But I won't love you when I love you
Know that I'll always stay the same
I won't feel you when I feel you
'Cause I feel you everyday
But I'll see you when I see you

I'm so sad I missed the train on these guys. I only discovered them a year ago but they have quickly become my favorite band.
You didnt miss it. It is still going. Ive seen them twice in that last 3 years.
That’s how I felt in the 2000s when I started listening and they had been broken up for a few years. But it’s never too late, we’re on a wave now!
My best friend died yesterday and now I can't stop listening to this song. I always listened to it when I was remembering his cousin, now they are having a goa party in the heavens together as his cousin used to be a dj. Thank you for this awesome song.
I look at the likes and the following and wonder why so low? You three were and are shere brilliance . I have followed and loved you guys since 2002? You are number 1 on my list of bands you bring to an abandoned island. Your loss, the world's loss is so incredibly heart breaking, but also what speaks to us all. I am a USMC veteran and I've lost over 6 of my brothers from our squadron to mental health issues. This countries process on mental health needs to change. Please Don't stop what you are doing ! You guys make a difference. Your worth can not be measured by this social media experiment !
the universe gives and takes , and for all I have seen, just be kind, be nice to people, because in the end, we are just energy
Love and be loved friends
Dispatch! Been listening to you guys since 2004. Brilliant, and it only gets better every album.
Thanks for the beautiful music!
Just thank you for this, guys! 🙏🏻🇧🇷💙💛💚
Excellent tribute!
Beautiful 💛
what a exceptional tribute to a sparkling spirit.
For any of us who've been "behind the needle" and who've lost people they love, dearly - behind that same needle - and are STILL trying to pick up the pieces, emotionally - this beautiful song is ultimate proof that we're not alone. Still makes me bawl my eyes out, though...😭
I don't think I have ever heard a song that has made me cry so much or with such intensity.
THANK YOU, FOR WRITING/PERFORMING IT!!! I will never be able to adequately express my deep, heartfelt gratitude, or articulate just how deeply and intensely it has touched/touches me, every single time I hear it. Again, thank you - and your beautiful soul of a cousin - and I send it, also, to my own.
With love and gratitude - and understanding your pain -
A Grateful Fan 🙏💖
I'm so glad I never used a needle, but I drank like a junkie, and I lost most of my best friends growing up to fentanyl tainted heroin, and one to fentanyl tainted coke. That one hurt the most. He wasn't even an addict, you know? I played this for his mom when we went to visit his grave. She cried hard. So did I. I love the way this song focuses on the good times. His mom didn't even know he did drugs. It was nice to just remember who he was, who we all were, without the drugs. I'm sorry for your probably many losses. I almost left the recovery community because so many people died. I just couldn't take it any more. I'm glad I didn't.
Come to the Saint Augustine Florida amphitheater please!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
They do! Saw them there first time 2-3 years ago
Only 20 comments and 40k views? Wtf people.
😢
: ) 🇧🇷
Rest in power, dear McDade. Good tears from this beautiful tribute 💜🙏 thanks, dudes.
Thank y😂🎉ou so much. Your music has helped me change and be the man that I love. Thank you forever fans
I don’t know the band or the person that passed, but I cried. I’m so sorry for your loss. I know it’s hard. My mom did too. 37 years ago. Nothing has changed, the grief, the sense of loss. It’s what really connects us humans, grief is the human condition that binds us.
sorry for your loss dudes
So sorry for your loss, such a beautiful tribute.
GREAT!
Awesome! Hoping to see you at your concert in Cincinnati next month!
Didn’t age well
The Aquinna Lighthouse! Must be on MVY!
This song just grabs me.
we love you guys!
An absolutely wonderful tribute to an exceptional friend! Thank you, I miss him!
who can explain the last lyrics for me..i wont love you when i love you..why? what happened here? no disrespect but did he kill himself? so now he is so mad at him for killing himself that he cant love him even tho he loves him? am i on track here? its super sad. made me cry seeing who i assume are his kids. man why? fuck.
The way I read this is to read the lines of that verse as pairs (aside from the last one). As in: I might see you again (in heaven or such) but I won't need to wait till then to love you or feel you because I'm going to be doing that anyway.
"I'll see you when I see you
Oh, there's maybe
But I won't love you when I love you
Know that I'll always stay the same
I won't feel you when I feel you
'Cause I feel you everyday
But I'll see you when I see you"
@@adambirch3935 thats exactly how I see it, too. As in, he doesn't need to wait to do any of those things, because he already is - always has been, and will continue to do those things....until he can do those things WITH his cousin, who, yes, did kill himself. Sad...So, SO SAD...
