The Funeral March, the big loud bell from the cathedral and the marching soldiers, everything together sounds so deep.
It almost makes it seem surreal almost like this didnt happen but it sure did
Only thing is band was playing march too fast in my opinion,

Haunting

It was not a State funeral as you said, but a Ceremonial Funeral.
The only Prime Minister to be given a State Funeral was Sir Winston Churchill -
Even the late Diana's Funeral was not a State Funeral but was a Ceremonial Funeral.

The Duke of Wellington was given a state funeral and he was also prime minister.
Yes, yes he was...

@@karldelavigne8134 As Robby said "State Funerals are normally for Royal Family only." The clue is in the name "Duke" = Royalty.

Yea chopin's piece is incredibly beautiful but Mendelssohn's is better. It sounds heroic yet sad at the same time.
What Chopin did is just a real, pure art.
This music just.. hugs me!
I know it is a funeral, but the music (the arrangements, the dynamic control, the intonation, the LOW BRASS) is *ELECTRIFYING*! Bravo, HM Royal Marine Band for *really* pulling it all out for this ceremony. This was pure aggression with absolute control and finesse. Wonderful!

In response to the ignorants complaining about applause:
I was present at the funeral, directly across the street from a small group of protesters (some dozens maybe). The reason we were clapping was to drown out the heckling of the said protesters who were shouting abusive, profane and disrespectful slogans as the carriage passed. It had nothing to do with celebrating Thatcher's death, quite the opposite actually.
And I just shot the video? and when I posted this video I did not think the reaction I would get over the subject ,How a bout nice video hd and good sound.

Thanks for the explanation. I was wondering.
You either liked her or hated her. Many hated her and chose that moment to vent their feelings one last time. I would not have shouted if I had been there even though I disliked. However, by being there I would have known she really was dead and not a dream.

This woman had more balls than the rest put together.
She had the balls to rip the souls from mining communities from the north of England, and Wales (and possibly other communities that I am not aware of), some of which have never fully recovered to this day. If you are going to dismantle an industry that upholds many, many towns, do it in a planned way, over years, decades. She had no idea, or interest, in the evil she wrought, the awful damage she did. She was the absolute definition of Conservatism.
@@jam-nc8ut Being an X miner from Shirebrook Colliery I yearned to hear of her death, when it happened I had a cigar and several whiskies.......
Not difficult.
Apart from Churchill. And Wellington. And probably Nelson, although he wants prime minister, but was given a state funeral apparently.
@MrAeronuk1 The meaning of conservative with a small 'c', is different to what the Conservative party is, what it stands for, and what it has done to our country, when in office. I know what conservative means, without needing to consult a dictionary. I also know what Conservative means.
1st song is Mendelssohn's Funeral March Op. 64 No. 3. 2nd song is Chopin's Sonata in Bb Minor Op. 35 No. 2 commonly known as "Funeral March"

Imagine how kings funerals were like hundreds of years ago on the streets. Very eerie.. the bells, drums
It’s a very hard job to be the prime minister of a country that measures itself by its centuries of might and tradition. You have to be able to stand tall and weather every storm in defending British interests around the world. It made me smile to listen to the people cheering her for all she had done in office. Her leadership won’t be forgotten. The people of the UK have much pride and loyalty.
She was the one of the only good ones we had and if we had more like her we may have been a proud nation once again but now people lack said pride and go around virtue signalling to try and get some fake pride of them selves
As Red Skelton said regarding Harry Cohn's funeral: "It proves what Harry always said: give the public what they want and they'll come out for it."
So majestic. What is the exact name of this classical music march?

Let's not forget how she sent a flotilla of the British Armed Forces half way around the world to make sure British sovereignty was up help despite the tiny parcel of land known as The Falklands. That took sheer guts as it not only put herself on the line but the pride and strength of the entire nation on the line. And she did right... damn right!
not her guts, she was sending other peoples children off to die while hers was selling weapons to a madman.
The Soviet didn’t gave her nickname Iron Lady for no reason.

Not technically a state funeral. This is a ceremonial funeral, which is not as grand. Sailors from the Navy pull the gun-carriage and the coffin, for example.
I guess this is either because it is obvious that Thatcher is not as great a prime minister as Churchill, whose state funeral was most recent (for now.)

Kings Troop, Royal Horse Artillery. They are the Senior ceremonial formation in the British Army. Their participation is normally reserved for the Royal family. This is extraordinary and must have come from Buckingham Palace.
She was truly an amazing lady and I don't agree with one or two things she did, but you can't say she did make the country better. The country was in a far better state when she left than when she went into No.10. I find it utterly disgusting that people were protesting and clapping at her funeral and I know people dislike her but really she has a family; time and a place springs to mind. Half the people there weren't even born when she was in power or seriously don't have anything better to do.
