This is what an interview should be like. Well researched, well articulated, respected and not interrupted. This is the first time I’m hearing JK so comfortable and open and vulnerable. This is the kid of interview i want them to have when they are back in 2025 and not constantly being asked about dream collab, crush, and some stupid question.

I also found Jung Kook's answer about himself on stage vs off stage very compelling. Because, the more I think about it, the truer it rings. Some of the other members, like Tae for example, have clear and definitive stage personas. Even though "V" is a part of Taehyung, V is not who he is in every day life. Having a persona he puts on when he performs is what I think works best for him, and it's amazing. Jung Kook is the opposite. This is probably also incredibly well summed up in their polar opposite VLive/Weverse Live styles. Catching V before his live is over is an adventure, and when you do, it's cryptic, mysterious, and often mostly music. (And I love him for it.) Jung Kook folds his laundry and sings karaoke for three hours. That's the same JK that performs "Euphoria" while soaring over the crowd. There really is no difference.
This interview was phenomenal. We've seen all the members become much more selective in who they choose to talk to in recent years, and I hope this trend continues once they're all back from the military. It's so refreshing to have someone talk to them like the real artists they are, and not just ask them about girlfriends, their favorite food, or who they want to collab with.
I so agree. Zane Lowe has been around a while and has evolved into a very good interviewer. He is able to put the guest at ease and have a conversation flow instead of a basic question/answer interview.
I was not surprised about JK's answer but impressed that he did not shy away from providing an answer so different from what many celebrities' in U.S. mainstream say. In everything, and above all else, Jungkook on stage, Jungkook in Weverse Lives and Jungkook in real life -- all the same person. This is why he is truly an authentic and endearing global popstar Who else can fold his laundry, cook delicious meals unpretentiously, wash dishes, vacuum, do karaoke for hours, and sleep while millions watch?

50:52 there’s a certain purity in the way that jungkook loves army… they all love us 100%… and maybe bc he was so young when debuting and how his first experience with being loved by ppl who aren’t family and bighit family was army… and jungkook is such an empath.. he feels army love so powerfully and it’s something not many ppl can understand especially bc of his culture and his age debuting… i mean he was in MiDDLE school when he came to bighit…. I think that really has a huge part in this. He just wants to give back the love he receives and feels but doubled …. He learned early on that BTS exists bc of BTS.. their hard work and talent… but really without fans… they couldn’t reach as many ppl as they’ve been able to… but that’s the synergy between BTS and army… the mutual love and respect is just always been there especially starting with nothing but that.. nothing but BTS and army against the world …. It builds a certain loyalty and love naturally.
24:04 100% agree … he’s mentioned breaking out of that image a bit and showing more of who he is and can be. It was wild that they think so little of him that he would ever do anything like that or that physical intimacy between loving consenting adults is somehow so appalling to ppl lol he’s a grown man with normal male hormones lol
Think about the genius of the placement of seven explicit and clean on the album… the beginning is about the getting to know you and honeymoon stage where you can’t keep your hands off each other… and extends into ppl not wanting them together, then them breaking up and him doing everything to forget loving her… but he couldn’t… then getting through to shot glass of tears where he comes to terms with the fact that he’s still in love with her…. And then we get to seven where now all he wants to do is love her and let her know that no matter what happens … loving them and supporting them is how he really feels about her and he accepts it … and the end of the music video for seven… they join hands and walk off together …. Feels perfect… I love that.

This is hands down my favorite BTS interview (excluding Suchwita)! This interviewer was amazing. I think he should be added to the guy that RM trusts so much (I can’t recall his name). I agree that it felt relaxed. There is a video where some says JK was shaking, full of nerves and anxiety and I couldn’t disagree more! He seemed relaxed, giving full answers and I loved every minute.

Best interviewer ever! Most of the western interviewers don’t do any research on the boys and can’t even pronounce their name properly. You can tell this guy did a deep dive and genuinely respected Jungkook and everything BTS has accomplished and done for Korea. The questions were so interesting and not your typical surface level type of questions. Jungkook has grown so much as an artist and as a person. I’m so proud of him 🤧

This was definitely the best interview I have seen with the members. This guy's style of interviewing (documentary style) is so entertaining. As I watch this video....I just got the notification from Weverse about the enlistment of the remaining members....ugh
We just remind ourselves, the sooner they go in, the sooner they come back out. I am focusing on Jin coming back June 2024, Hobi Oct 2024.
Besides, a lot of content to be released after the 4 enlists: Disney+ Docuseries, more Suchwita episodes, JK's Golden documentary, Jimin-JK's Travel VLOG/Series, new music from RM (a mini album?) and Jimin (2nd solo album?). We all know both were working on "projects" - I hope there would be another GCF episode. Hobi has his "On The Street" documentary/docuseries though not sure if it will be released after he is discharged from military. Bighit and the guys always think of ARMY. I am sure they will drop a few pleasant surprises while the guys are in service.

JK did a documentary for Golden similar to what SUGA did for D-Day. It may be released after JK starts military service. I am looking forward to it for the same reason you mentioned - validation that Golden was an album JK curated personally, related choices he made on his own, and that it is his personal expression, not executives forcing him to do certain songs. He himself mentioned that he sang all English songs because he was targeting a specific market: western music mainstream. Some people/fans need to accept that JK is not a baby, far from being a baby anymore and that he is now a matured man. Be ready, folks. After military service, he will have matured maybe twice over!
