My real name is Tad, but DonKawaii/Don was simply an IGN name I created playing FF14 online, so I kinda just rolled with it. Lol. I am also a teacher, and I teach people dance. And normally, I teach my students dance through sharing my own choreography, giving people drills or exercises to build foundation and technique. and I've been dancing for 15 years mainly growing up through Hip Hop dance culture, but my foundation also includes minor areas in ballet, jazz, and tap. And how I got into K-Pop was because the main three groups, Wonder Girls, Big Bang, and SNSD. That followed with korean dramas, variety shows, and the rest is history.

SEVENTEEN are called “the theatre kids of KPop” so storytelling is always part of their choreo using fluidity, light footwork, and synchronization. Last 2020, they have been dubbed as the “Pioneers of KPOP Renaissance” because of Left & Right and Home;Run that used retro influences.
P.S. I like that you’re doing the reaction from their 2015 debut so you could see their incredible growth and maturity in dance and choreographing (HOSHI, a member, choreographs a lot of thier dances). Pretty U, Fallin Flower, and Snapshoot dances are very theatre-like.

I just saw both of your Seventeen reactions in a row and I really like your analyses and commentary (especially the added insights from your competitive experience) :)
Seventeen are known as the "theater kids of Kpop" because their choreos always have a story-telling and somewhat musical element. To them the dance, just like their music, is another way to relay a message to their audience. They have some of the most creative choreos in kpop in my opinion and their teamwork and synchronization are seamless.
I'm excited for you to react to the rest of their choreos and discography as it only gets better and more diverse as they grow.

wow don i am so happy you are reacting to Seventeen. I think as a group that big they deal with formations pretty well, they really have the prettiest and the most creative formations ever! You should also watch their performances for Gayo Daejon, MAMA and other award shows… they never perform the same song in the same performance.. they always change it up… they are the only group I know who started this kind of trend. They always bring it when it comes to performances. Hands down the best performers- especially when you see them live!

Idk if anyone has alrdy said this but i wanna say just in case no one hasnt😅 svt were born to perform bc they love performing and making music! In their rookie days, they used to sleep late trying to change up the beginning and endings of their choreos for every music show performance that’s y they have so many versions of their earlier works. There’s a special video that in svt’s yt channel showing svt practicing Adore U (ua-cam.com/video/pSIvdx_XD3s/v-deo.html)
I mean, every svt performance is honestly diff from their last ones which is why it is sooo fun to watch them and i fell in love with them real hard! From incorporating sign languages in their choreos, to keeping carats at the edge of their seats bc we dont know when svt are giving spoilers to their future cb choreo when they are performing their old songs😂, to them telling carats that they will try their hardest so that we can proudly say I AM A CARAT and them sayin they will also try their hardest to take away the prejudice of being kpop stans so that we wont be ashamed to say we are kpop stans...

Can't wait for you to get into their newer songs and choreos. You can definitely *see how much they've grown, even with the techniques but never compromising on that satisfaction with synchronization, levels and textures.

Kpop fans also call svt as the theater boys of kpop because of the story telling and many imageries that their choreo have. They really showing that having many members is an advantage by their performances.
Top of mind songs with theatrics are homerun, mymy, fallin flower and snap shoot. Fearless is kinda special bec they have back up dancers but it's also really good.

"Thorough" 😏 that's our performance team leader right there. He even says that just an 1 degree angle change makes all the difference. The members jokingly complain that Hoshi is too picky
