PonyBoy Gold all day, ery day! You mentioned having these as demos, but not showing on the website, is that just not updated yet? Thinking about trying one out in May at Allegrippis Trails in PA.
You guys are one of the reasons I ended up buying a rascal as my first full squish almost 2 years ago. I love this bike. Likewise I am curious how they could make it any better. Kudos to revel for coming out with more awesome colors as well. I currently ride on the lyb purple one.
This is hard because my V1 is amazing and these updates are great, but I feel like it’s hard for existing Rascal owners to justify a V2. Maybe a frame swap.
JEFF are you planning to switch to transmission or still mechanical? I don't have the vitriolic hate a lot of people have for wireless, but I definitely prefer keeping the cables. There's something that's kinda romantic about riding and being completely disconnected, and I don't like the idea of introducing yet another electronic device to my life ... Especially when I'm trying to escape the technological world we live in.
I have both a Ripley V4 with Avalanche tuned shock and DVO Sapphire fork (upgrade from the Factory 34) and a Rascal V1 with Lyrik Ultimate and Deluxe Ultimate shock. I'm selling the Ripley. Rascal feels ALMOST as fast uphill, but much better on technical, ledgy climbs and more capable downhill.
The effective seat-tube angle is steepened by .5 only , why do you say its a major change? Does the actual seat-tube angle matter more than effective seat-tube angle ?
Can’t go by the number, have to go by the ride feel, sometimes these small changes are very noticeable. New frame is also 5oz lighter, which isn’t trivial.
I have only ridden V1 but I imagine the actual sta is a huge difference. Its like 4 degrees steeper. The actual sta can be a huge deal for those of us with long legs. The "effective sta" is recorded at a specific height but if the actual sta is very slack, you are getting super far back over the rear axle as you get your seat higher and higher. Im 5'9" with a 33" inseam on a size L rascal and the only thing I truly disliked on the bike is the sta. I am a bit over the rear wheel on steep climbs. I felt like the changes they made were pretty minor for owners of the V1 but make this bike a lot more attractive for potential new owners.
with size 15 feet, these steepened seat tube angles push my knees too far ahead of the pedal making an uncomfortable angle when pedaling more level terrain
Idk about fully 27.5, but would have been nice to see a mullet compatable bike. Seems like a number of companies are able to do both 29 or mullet with a flip chip for the rear end.
Good comm, after his ending speech about all the thought put into every detail of what it is to be on a bike that kinda stopped the preaching dead in its tracks.
I like the fact they waited 5 years for the V2 and put some major changes in, rather than making incremental changes every year or 2 . Makes those who bought the original not feel like they are stuck with an inferior or flawed machine after a very short time that they need to upgrade, but cant because the bike has a poor residual
Most bike makers still aren't doing in frame storage. Ibis, norco, forbidden, and many others. Seems like only the biggest companies are doing in frame storage. Most of the smaller companies haven't bought into frame storage. Not surprised it didn't show up on the new revel.
Hopefully most companies. The frame storage adds unnecessary cost and complication. You can literally strap a pack to the frame if you refuse to wear a pack on yourself goober.
@@DB-sd3cw they day you have a bike with the frame storage youll realize how useful it is, no having hugging tools or stuff around the frame and no carrying a hip pack makes everything better all around. Come on man it is 2024, and bikes aren’t cheap, most companies spend thousands on developing a bike and now the storage is a problem to design a frame ? 😂😂😂
@danielpatino81 I'm sure it's a nice to have but literally just strapping a pack to the downtube or top tube achieves the same thing 😂. Rather take the prices savings than have them design a frame with storage and charge insane prices like trek does with their fuel ex or specialized with their base model carbon stumpy.
Which color Revel Rascal would you get?

Stay gold, Ponyboy. Stay gold…
They never have anything in stock so I'll never know
The Ponyboy is growing on me, but I love my Sedona Red, plus the fear of divorce if I got another bike. 😂
If they made a Camo I am in.
Making an awesome bike even, awesomer! Absolutely love the V1 Rascal. This looks like an improvement in every way.
Nailed it 😉
Congrats on getting Trail One components on a production bike!! I love my original Rascal. Super sick update!

Basically the exact geometry that I was hoping for.
Between the new Switchblade and now this, kinda like iphones we're reaching a MTB plateau. Glad the changes are subtle and love the new colors!
looks more "gold" than yellow. love it!!!
Pony boy, stay golden 😜
Seat tube angle was the no-go for me on the original. Glad to see it changed.
Love that you guys upload more last weeks
More to come! Thanks for tuning in :)
There’s a lot to love about this bike!
Wow, super bike.
Jeff, you should be a salesman, you’re seem good at it.
Oh yes the revel rascal rips! ahh I love these bikes!
Jeff is so excited about the bike, he keeps over inhaling and exhausting the excess
😂😂😂
As a Rascal himself, he loves the Rascal 😂
Pure passion right there. Haha rad.
A dream bike for me❤
Been waiting for this one!
Same :)
My next bike
This is hard because my V1 is amazing and these updates are great, but I feel like it’s hard for existing Rascal owners to justify a V2. Maybe a frame swap.
Agreed that the Rascal is a great “it all whip”. Will you be selling as frame only?
Yes we will!
I got one on order ;)
Nice!
Ooooh shiny. Me want.

I just want a Revel Rail 27.5 in XS.
Is Revel ever gonna build an eBike? Doers it come in Blue?
You went to NZ?
I want a V2 Rail 27.5 but in a mullet 170/165mm
Now that sounds sweet ;)
I want the bike to transform or change my weight on it to propel itself forward.
What is the appropriate geometry for the bike?
I'd travel to the US to demo one, but I CBF...
Now compare it to a ibis ripley v4s and yeti sb120.

Cakeable! LOL
Are Revel bikes made in the USA?
I believe they’re made in Taiwan
Not enough changed for me to be tempted to replace my OG Rascal.
Am I the only one sad that it’s not 27.5? No just me ok
nah I'm with you, some of us are just more comfortable on the smaller wheels
Revel Rail says hey ;)

what if Walmart made a bike and called it testicular torsion
No downtube storage, sad
Good comm, after his ending speech about all the thought put into every detail of what it is to be on a bike that kinda stopped the preaching dead in its tracks.
Thank goodness it doesn’t have that gimmicky stuff and they concentrated on a bicycle that rides nicely 😊
Downtube storage is "neat" at best. It's completely unnecessary for me. I've never had a problem with a small backpack.
@@tonkshred true but I still found the comment funny.
@@ericbeech2652 me too since 93 with packs but I wouldn’t mind that spot for a spare emergency inner tube

2024 and still the brake hose hangs below the BB? Come on?!?!
Still didn’t fix the terrible water bottle location, my large v1 could barely handle a small bottle. Making a pack a necessity.
All sizes can fit a 22 oz bottle and another on the underside of the downtube.
Fidlock on mine… works perfectly 😜
clevis bikes will always be a compromise. they need to give it up.
Please explain, I’m curious about the specifics on the design
Who make a bike in 2024 without frame storage???????? 👎👎👎

@@TheWrigle forbidden actually has frame storage, just bought a Druid V2, and their storage system is actually very clever.
