Independent Bands from Manchester like The Stone Roses, The Happy Mondays, The Charlatans, New Order, Inspiral Carpets etc were also on a massive rise and were using beats from the House scene. The culmination was 'Madchester' when Manchester (compared to every other City) was the centre in the music World (Definitely in Europe) for a few years. I was in my mid to late teens at the time and remember people travelling from all over the Uk and Europe to Manchester every weekend and asking for directions to certain clubs. Aitch, like any other kid growing up in Manchester is bred on that 4/5 era as it made the City, hence why he is sampling a classic tune.
