Its my hometown and if you are visiting this summer you are going to be able to see OPEN ART. which is free art everywhere around the city. You must eat at Mocca deli or Fratellis.
Loved the food festival you had in Örebro last weekend. Ate some burgers with crocodile meat in it. Will make sure to visit the festival next year too.
If you want to visit my suggestion is like a couple of hours between trains on the way to Gothenburg from Sthlm. To walk around the castle and maybe a Fika in Wadköping and a stroll in Stadsparken and then on to a bigger city like Gbg.
07:00 Yes, they are talking to/about the dog. You can hear them say "Oooh that is such a lovely doggy!" then something more that you can't hear. Probably asking if it's ok to pet it and say hallo.
0:45 Lots of towns were demolished around the 1960s. So the best preserved are actually enough in order to get a feel for the real old Sweden, primarily Stockholm and Visby. Other than towns, visiting the countryside in Skåne, Dalarna, perhaps Roslagen, or even Höga kusten would give you a feel for the nature as well.
He is saying "åh titta vilken fin vovve" which translate into "oh look what a nice doggy". That old building in the middle of the water is Örebro slott/Örebro castle.
If you'd like, react to Jönköping. it's a small, and unremarkable town (boring and pretty ugly), but it's situated around the bottom of Sweden's second-largest lake, Vättern, which is also the sixth-largest in Europe and there are also two other smaller lakes in the city, which makes it kind of interesting I guess. React to the video "Sommar i Jönköping 2023 | Rosarium" Be aware that the video was filmed during the least busy days in the town because everyone is on vacation, so if it appears to be a ghost town then that's why.
they seem to start the video from just under the tunnel from "rececentrum" /Traincentral. and walks up on the "norr city" north city, where the police house is located up to the left. Örebro is a smaller place, but very nice to bike or walk in. Also Bastard Burgers are awasome, about the best burgers. highly recomend, i usually do double meat. My way is just a small convienent/drugstore. there are bikes to rent and there are electric scooters to rent. At around 3:25 you turn into "Drottninggatan" translated into Queensroad. (at the back of where he/she walking, you should be able to spot "Svampen" or "the mushroom" that is a watertower that you can go up in and it has a restaurant with a nice view.Drottninggatan runs straight through the inner city. and kinda ends at Olof Palmes Torg (Square of Olof Palme). but in reality it does run a bit further, just that side of town is inactive as a "inner city", but beyond the graveyard is a skatepark, and if you go about 1km more, you get to Gustavsvik, a place that has Camping in the summer, and a large indoor bathhouse, while in summer also have outdoor bath area. and the camping area has evening entertainment, mini golf and more. Also the cars are only allowed to run in the inner city if it has business there. otherwise there are roads that cars can cross. but it tries to keep cars away for a better city. The highlights of the town is Örebro Slott (Örebro Castle). Svampen (Watertower with a restaurant). Gustavsvik Bathhouse/spa. and in summer Gustavsviks Camping. Stadsträdgården (City garden). and Wadköping (small town located next to stadsträdgården). in the center of the town you have about 3-4 hotels in walking distance, and about 3-5 big clubs, with a decent amount of pubs. so nightlife is really easy to get around. Hästhagen, nice place with frisbee golf, able to rent Canot and other activites. and pritty close to it is a nice forest scenery, and garden. Svartån runs through the town, and you can take a ferry around with it called "Gröna Grodan". and in the summer there is open art all over the town. both cool and weird art, like giant popcorn, duck made out of tires. its the perfect size city, you can get around easy, and alot of options for activites. Second video shows "Köpmangatan". Örebro is in the middle of Stockholm and Gothenburg, about 30mile from Gothernburg, and 20mile from stockholm. ill link some videos for you. here is Stadsträdgården in the winter, and they do light fixtures every year, magical forest kind of thing. ua-cam.com/video/jTcQrgAguNg/v-deo.html and this one is in the summer: (But he never enters the restaurant area, where you can also enter a greenhouse and such.). ua-cam.com/video/9jwaAs6-edE/v-deo.html Wadköping, located close to stadsträdgården, gives an entirely different vibe. very nice in the summer. ua-cam.com/video/Z3NonJ7VY3A/v-deo.html Here is a drone fotage of Svampen that has a restaurant you can visit. and a nice view. ua-cam.com/video/Oi8bn801cRY/v-deo.html This is a video that shows Lost city (Gustavsviks bathhouse) ua-cam.com/video/BOp-w0btoNc/v-deo.html this shows the Gustavsviks Camping ua-cam.com/video/b-umZ0G8lNY/v-deo.html There are no good videos of Hästhagen other then frisbee golf but here is one. ua-cam.com/video/w1offTCxCPA/v-deo.html this one shows the nightlife decently. HM is Swedish so you will find it everywhere in Sweden. Haven’t seen much of Örebro, but there is always the castle to visit. If you like calm, it’s the place to go. In MY opinion it’s a sleepy town.
A very good Swedish author is (was) Hjalmar Bergman, born in Örebro, and he wrote about his hometown, re-naming it Wadköping, His novels were printed about 1907-1930, but also plays and film-manuscripts.
Im from Stockholm but I moved to Örebro in 2014 for studies. Moved again and then back in 2017. I love this city, many cultures smashed together in a alive city. Always happenings going on here. Events...food stuff, music or art. The building in the water you saw was our castle here. You can go inside to check out some history ofc. I dunno which year this was recorded but some streets and stores are different or changed. Its lots of nice bars and resturants. Hope to see you here. Pm if ya want more information. Cheers!
Malmö is the 3rd biggest cities in Sweden (this year’s host of Eurovision) and definitely worth a visit. About 60 km north (along the coast) you’ll find my hometown Helsingborg. A beautiful city built around what’s left of a medieval castle (Kärnan). A really nice city where you also can take the ferry (20min ride) to Helsingör in Denmark.
Malmö is the 3rd biggest tätort (muncipality). The actual "city" or town is very small. Most of it was torn down around the 1960s and replaced with ugly suburban style housing.
pretty towns in sweden you can visit: lund, ystad, old linköping, visby, vaxholm, kalmar, the small towns in gothenburgs and stockholms archpelago, and more. Sweden doesn't really have any metropolitan cities like London and many others in England. If you're looking for pretty architecture in Swedish cities, it's typically found in the tiny preserved towns. In general, cities in Sweden are quite small, which can be boring for tourists but nice for the locals, but there are many cute small towns that might appeal to those interested. Otherwise, Stockholm is, I'd say, the only truly "interesting" city in Sweden. Gothenburg also boasts some nice architecture for a "large" city (though both Gothenburg and Stockholm are actually relatively small compared to international standards, but by Swedish standards, they are considered large).
I would say that Örebro is something you do for an afternoon. Take a look at Örebro Castle in the town centre, visit the wooden houses of Wadköping (Örebro's "old town", it's tiny) and have a fika there. If you want to stop mid way between Stockholm and Gothenburg I would suggest the beautiful...village? of Gränna (outside of Jönköping town) and have their famous Polkagris, and visit Jönköping, a little walk around and have dinner by the water, around the pier. (which is not like a UK pier). But only if you come here in the summer, and only for like a day.
The o in Örebro is pronounced as it is in zoo. We have the same symbolic problem with the Swedish flag except in the summer, when it is seen as a summer decoration. Örebro is an ordinary small town. There are better places to visit. Check out Visby, for example. It's located on the island of Gotland.
Yes, it is a good place, i would suggest riding Mälartåg to here from Stockholm and then continue to Gothenburg by train. You could visit Sörbybacken, cycle around on the bike paths connecting suburbs and parks around the city and try the local transit system. There is a lot to explore and see.
@@cynic7049 but i think its fair to incl the metropolitan area (which is the kommun for the most part in sweden unless its like sthlm which you have to incl the whole county)
Örebro is the largest city with all schools for the deaf in Sweden, from primary school to university. It is a very quiet town, reasonably large and beautiful with old buildings and the Castle. A nice city to visit.
Örebro is a good town to get around on a bike in. And you can gbring a bike on some of the comuting trains that goes to Stockhom. You can get to more towns and smaller wilages by the same trains as well. So if you want to visit Sweden and like to ride a bike there are a lot of places you can see that you would not be able to walk to. If you'd like to I guess I chuold make a video of how I bring my bike from Dalarna to Stockholm when I visit my friends there.
If you want recommendations it would help to know how much time you have planned in Sweden. Cause it takes time to travel between cities. You need a realistic time table. If you're only here for a week you need to settle for a few things. No point in seeing too much in too little time, you will just stress around. If you go to Malmö, the 3rd largest city, you can easily take the train to Copenhagen, Denmark, it takes about 25min. From Malmö it takes about 2,5 to 3 hours to go to Gothenburg, the 2nd largest city. From Gothenburg it can take about 3 to 5 hours to Stockholm depending on if it's the fast train or not. From Gothenburg you can also take the train to Oslo, Norway and it seems it takes about 3,5 to 4 hours. From Malmö it takes about 4,5 hours to Stockholm with the fast train. From Stockholm you can easily take the ferry to Finland. As I live in Scania and closest to Malmö, other towns in the near area are Lund, Helsingborg and Ystad as examples. The whole area of Österlen with "Ales Stenar" (Norse place) and "Glimmingehus" (Medieval house). There's a rebuilt Viking Village close to Malmö called Foteviken Museum. During the summer they have days when there's guides dressed accordingly living the viking village life showing you how it was done during the Late Viking Age - Early Middle Age.
If you take the train between Stockholm and Göteborg you will stop in Örebro. I would say it is worth a visit, but perhaps not a longer one. A day should be enough to experience most of it as Örebro ain't that big and not too much is going on. Absolutely a lot calmer compared to our big 3 cities.
The closest larger city, to where I live, is Örebro. There is a part of Örebro that is called Wadköping, that I recommend a visit to. Örebro also have castle in the middle of the city.
Örebro, or Pennybridge in english! Lived there for 5 years, it's a great city to visit but i lived in a bad area sadly. Still loved the city tho, it's great.
I know you love music. In Halmstad you have the origin of Roxett. You can stay at Per Gessles Hotell in Tylösand and look at his fantastic Ferrari cars. Halmstad is over 700 years old and has many historical monuments as well. Like the Danish-Swedish war that was fought just south of the center. If you want, I can make a film about what it looks like in central Halmstad. In the summer, we probably have Sweden's best beach life. Lots of people and world-class entertainment.
15:49 the only city in sweden, if you don't like sleepy towns, is stockholm and maybe Gothenburg. but compared to lets say london they're still very sleepy
There a Castle over the big water!!! Its Very beautiful !!!! I realy think You should visit there!!!! And yea Örebro its right when You say it i think !!!!
Yes you should visit örebro ( penny bridge ) Its a really nive town especially in the summer Yes the bastard burger are good Yes its a city Its not 4o big and not to small im from örebro Sweden and lives here 😊
Hi! If you like canals within the city, you should definitely visit Malmö. Except for the canal, which basically runs through the whole city, there are so many nice things you can go see and do. A city full of culture, art, music, restaurants, parks etc. People are very friendly and social (for being Swedes). After watching a lot of your Sweden-videos, I feel like you would really like it in Malmö! Very easy to take a flight to Copenhagen airport and travel about 25 mins by train to get to Malmö. Welcome! ☀️
Malmö Sweden 🇸🇪 & Glasgow Scotland UK ❤ both my most favourite places on the earth 🌎! Love it 😍........ but I am concerning about safety standards in Malmö. Stay safe !
Östergötland for sure but not sure about Linköping honestly i think you can skip that one( it did get nominated as swedens most boring town), but check out Vaddstena, Söderköping, Norrköping
Have you totality missed out on Malmö? The capital in the south with more exotic restaurants and cultures than any other Swedish city? The coolest city in Sweden in the most densely populated region where it's no more than an hour to wherever you want to go coast to coast. and as a bonus, 20 minutes by train over a bridge and you are right in the center of Copenhagen!
I would say that Swedish and British people are failry similar when it comes to their nationalistic pride, generally you won't brag about your country, small talk will eventually end up with people talking about how the politicians are making things worse etc, but if any outsiders start talking smack you'll have some angry/annoyed/defensive Swedes on your hands.
"Örebro" is part of what we Swedes call "gnällbältet" (The Belt of whining), together with a few more cities/counties. It is called this because of the local dialects sound whiny, at least to people who speak standard-Swedish. "Örebro" can be directly translated to mean "Penny Bridge", although I'm not sure of the historical context of the name. Regarding the Swedish flag, Swedes like to fly it particularly during the summer. It is therefore quite common to see it outside smaller shops and the like, during summer. You will also often see the flag outside of official buildings, and on peoples houses, or on flag-poles in private yards. Swedes are secretly quite patriotic, although this is seen as a bit controversial by SOME overly-political people (not the majority). During winter it is much less common to see the the flag outside, perhaps because of the rules surrounding the Swedish flag. It needs to be hauled down at night and needs to be cared for and shown respect as a national symbol, so I'm guessing it is too much of a hassle to keep it out when it is -20C outside, and the sun sets at 3 pm :)
Örebro is the home of Sweden's fartiest dialect. Also, Bastard Burgers is a very big franchise, I think they exist in most cities and towns by now, have not tried it though. :P
if you will be visiting random towns, then you could do jonkoping. its pretty boring and nothing special, but its located at the shores in swedens 2nd largest lake and europes 6th largest, which makes it kinda interesting I guess
The only time you see a Swedish flag in a bigger city, is if it is on a shop selling things to visitors, or on hotels. Some times they are on busses, if it is a holiday. In Sweden most people do not show the flag, as it would label you a nationalist, a rasist. One core value of a Swede, is the fact that we are not better then anyone and should respect everyone! I know a am great and come from the great country of Sweden, i just do not see a point to telling every one ells that.
the swedish flag had a lot of negative connotation as well which is mostly due to the neo-nazis used the flag during the 80s to early 00s, but i dont think it's as sensitive today as it was back in the early 2000s though
If you do go to Sweden, be very careful. Their Trolls are mean, absolutely no joke. It might be the best, if you stay in the big city, since they mostly are in the woods.
Do your self a favour and visit our bigger citys first.. those tourist oriented ones! Its this Copenhagen is the airport hub for scandinavia.. cheapest airline tickets frome the rest of the world! One can stay in Denmark/Copenhagen.. or take the train over Öresund strait to Malmö! Malmö is part of "Bigger Copenhagen" for visitors! Up a bit from Malmö is Gothenburg, "Little London" our second biggest city, its the biggest port in scandinavia, and those english speking entreprenours was actualy mostly scottsmen.. but they did speak english.. and there was a lot of english brick bouldings befor! Stockholm is our capitol city and the biggest in sweden.. its even more tourist friendly/or more tourist traps, how one like to call it! But I like to be a tourist in Stockholm, visiting The royal castell, watch changing of the guards, take a "fika" in the royal court yard", or take a glass of wine at "kungsträdgården" when the royal guard goes to the royal castel! One must visit Vasa museum, and take the ferry out there to "Gröna lund" or just stroll around, to ABBA museum, or Skansen "swedish heretige museum"!
I imagine the national flag everywhere is bound to be used by nationalists of different sorts and to some extent come to be tainted by the worst kind. Least suspicious use would be like city squares and summer homes, most I guess on your clothing.
4:02 Örebro has a population of almost 156k people. You’re pronouncing it *almost* right. 🤏🏻 You are saying it like Öre-bruh. It should be more like Öre-broo. Think like a scary ghost like ”booh” but add an r like ”brooh”. Or you could say Öre-brew and you’d almost be there. 🤣 5:00 not very patriotic. The jantelagen and not bragging and all that. However I see a lot of immigrants liking it and just like S:t George a lot of national socialists too. Which is kind of funny now that I think about it.

The closest larger city, to where I live, is Örebro. There is a part of Örebro that is called Wadköping, that I recommend a visit to. Örebro also have castle in the middle of the city.
Many Swedish cities have a castles in their middle, but few if any have a Castle that look as much as the classic Castle as Örebro Castel do.
Örebro, or Pennybridge in english!
Lived there for 5 years, it's a great city to visit but i lived in a bad area sadly. Still loved the city tho, it's great.
Yes, possibly öre- in this case is about ör as in gravel.
There are lot off smaller citys that are Nice like my town Norrköping.
Bastard Burgers are in many cities. Amazing smash burgers. Can 100% recommend!
Hometown! Its a nice city!
H&M is a swedish brand😊
its my hometown! the castle is really how u imagine a castle to look like (in my opinion)
Home sweet home, if you decide to visit I can give you a tour around this small city. May not live there right now but I go back every now and then
There a Castle over the big water!!! Its Very beautiful !!!! I realy think You should visit there!!!! And yea Örebro its right when You say it i think !!!!
That was exactly how I reacted the first time I saw Bastard Burgers in Gothenburg and yes! I would recommend this place
Örebro is closer to Stockholm , about 2 hours from Stockholm.
Yes you should visit örebro ( penny bridge )
Its a really nive town especially in the summer
Yes the bastard burger are good
Yes its a city
Its not 4o big and not to small im from örebro Sweden and lives here 😊
Stay safe !
Örebro is a nice city!
Yes Bastard Burgers is very popular and really good!
there's so fucking good
Bastard burgers is a chain throughout Sweden. Don't waste your time on Örebro, only do it if you are passing by car. That's my 2 cents.
Some people say that Basterd Burgers is one of the best burger chains u should try it.
You shuold watch Östergötaland more specly Linköping. Beutiful town and a lot of history. Linköping is also the most innovative town in europe.
Check out Helsingorg and Kalmar! 😍
Love Kalmar ❤
I would say that Swedish and British people are failry similar when it comes to their nationalistic pride, generally you won't brag about your country, small talk will eventually end up with people talking about how the politicians are making things worse etc, but if any outsiders start talking smack you'll have some angry/annoyed/defensive Swedes on your hands.
Notably, while Örebro is rather small in the big picture, only some ten Swedish cities are 100k+.
Thanks today I learned! Something 😊❤
Plz watch Östergötaland more specly (Norrköping) it's so beautiful and it's my hometown 😃 🇸🇪
You probably know that H&M is a Swedish brand?
Örebro is the home of Sweden's fartiest dialect.
Also, Bastard Burgers is a very big franchise, I think they exist in most cities and towns by now, have not tried it though. :P
bastard burger is a banger in Sweden
your welcome!!
if you will be visiting random towns, then you could do jonkoping. its pretty boring and nothing special, but its located at the shores in swedens 2nd largest lake and europes 6th largest, which makes it kinda interesting I guess
Örebro has about 156.000 inhabitants
Pls see the butiful town in sweden called Norrtälje 🙏
you may look into Wadköping in Örebro.
A am from Örebro, Örebro castel is Nice on halloween 👌
Nice !one day I will visit örebro.❤
Do GOTLAND Sweden’s largest island
"Small city", meanwhile my nearest city is three times smaller than Örebro and I consider my city too big :D Proportions...
Def a small city. Even stockholm is small
Bastard Burgers is really good :)
AYO, they passed by a thai restaurant where i have ate!
Sigtuna
The only time you see a Swedish flag in a bigger city, is if it is on a shop selling things to visitors, or on hotels.
Some times they are on busses, if it is a holiday.
In Sweden most people do not show the flag, as it would label you a nationalist, a rasist.
One core value of a Swede, is the fact that we are not better then anyone and should respect everyone!
I know a am great and come from the great country of Sweden, i just do not see a point to telling every one ells that.
look up ut i bygda a comedy show from the country side of sweden. it makes fun of the country folks but a fun show!
the city of Örebro is about 700 years old..
You should react to Västerås!
Subway is only in Stockholm 😅 That Subway is a brand of sandwich and you are not allowed to be Patriot, if you are they call you a racist
He knew that, he talked about the bad thai ones i.e, he mentioned the cheese especially
the swedish flag had a lot of negative connotation as well which is mostly due to the neo-nazis used the flag during the 80s to early 00s, but i dont think it's as sensitive today as it was back in the early 2000s though
You should pronounce it like its written with an "o" not an "a" at the end, but other than that it was good :D
More like an "oo" at the end. Like boo hoo.
We are not patriotic at all so my guess is that that flag is outside of a kiosk owned by “new-swedes” as we call them 🥰
If you do go to Sweden, be very careful. Their Trolls are mean, absolutely no joke. It might be the best, if you stay in the big city, since they mostly are in the woods.
Really? Trolls 😭 thay are real or myth
@@zainulabdin1720 Check out this title: "Mythical Creatures in Sweden | Trolls, Tomtar, Näcken and More".
Sorry mate, but you did NOT say Örebro right. You can hear the right way at the Wikipedia page for Örebro 🙂
Bastard Burgers is the best!
You have a slight mis pronunciation in the end of the city name. Bro shuld have a long oo: Örebroo
Personally I'd go somewhere else. ;)
react to all endings sweden
Can you make a Philippines day?
I imagine the national flag everywhere is bound to be used by nationalists of different sorts and to some extent come to be tainted by the worst kind. Least suspicious use would be like city squares and summer homes, most I guess on your clothing.
React to my city please 🙂 its called Halmstad 😊
do uppsala
Yes. You're saying it incorrectly.
9:30 no, sweden in general is kinda boring
PennyBridge
Swedish youth ain't patriotic, we're more the opposite we typicaly talk shit on our own countrie, atleast in my area
First
Boring video
4:02 Örebro has a population of almost 156k people.
You’re pronouncing it *almost* right. 🤏🏻
You are saying it like Öre-bruh. It should be more like Öre-broo. Think like a scary ghost like ”booh” but add an r like ”brooh”.
Or you could say Öre-brew and you’d almost be there. 🤣
5:00 not very patriotic. The jantelagen and not bragging and all that.
However I see a lot of immigrants liking it and just like S:t George a lot of national socialists too. Which is kind of funny now that I think about it.
If you like hamburger I do recommend BURGER LOVE . delicious
