I have 2 U87s, 2 TLM103s, a Beta 52a & a Shure SM7b from Temu. The Shure IS the real thing... stickers and everything. the TLM103s need a capsule change. The U87s have a cheep plastic kinda shock mount. Its slightly smaller than the real thing, When you test sweep it, its very close to the org readings. I even sourced Neumann badges... Bottom line... you can change the capsules for either Chinese ones, or parts from Microphone parts for less than $175 and have a very good sounding mic for a fraction of the real things... much like if you buy chinese guitars.
Besides being a professional working musician, all my life , I have been in the recording and live performance business for over 50 years, My father and I owned a recording studio in Illinois for several years before I went on the road…! Oddly enough when you were playing your acoustic guitar and singing singing I kind of liked the sound of the $10.00 Dollar Mic , better than your expensive tube mic… go figure…! The cheap microphone I thought had a really nice tonal characteristic across the spectrum…! The warmth and clarity were impressive…! ( The Jeff Galey Channel )
Thanks for this review. I actually just got the same TEMU U87 for $15. I'm excited to try it against my Neumans, Audio Technica, and Shure mics. But geez, for $15 how can you go wrong? With a bit of processing, it will probably be decent.
ive had one of these for a year now. bought on a whim just to see what is was like its not awful. and yeah $20. handling noise and self noise is pretty loud but usable. I plan on using the body to mod. better capsule in it eventually
What is the noise floor like ? Been here before with the BM800 for a similar price was impressed but then found its limitation if you expose it to loud sounds and the noise floor wasn't as as good. Its not a bad mic and for the price a bargain ... I think this does expose how overpriced some mics are and like so many things out there a case of diminishing returns, twice the price is not twice the quality and in some cases 100x the price. The mic will be more than adequate for many applications.
I have a first generation NT 1 which I compared it too. Blew it away on how well it handle the siliblances.. smoother than I expected. I’ll probably use it instead of the NT when necessary
I think Temu is more like Wish than Ali. At least Ali has some good stuff!! Most of these cheap condensers are not condenser mics at all but very cheap electrets. I was very surprised it actually sounds quite good!! 👍
You don't happen to have an old AKG Perception 100? I have a couple of those and I am curious if the inside of the AKG would fit the exterior body of this fake U87.
I think that’s because with the processing there was a compressor and that picked up more of the feedback from the mic. Audio from the mic was playing through my monitors at the time.
i just bought this mic from Ali.. 17 bucks,,,, it says large diaphram model.... im interested to see because in the specs it says ........... "Diaphram --- S-Mall",, though throughout the entire post it relates Large Diaphram... but it just goes to show.. how much production costs to make it a little better to match the high end,,, and yet they want hundreds if not thousands of dollars for the "Name" brands.. most likely made in the same factory without the branding and some weaker parts persay..
The temu mic is hollow sounding and I can almost hear the resonance of the mic body. Good for the price, but I really don't like it. Thanks for the video!
This mic seems to be the worse version of this Temu u87 clone which has a 5v power. I've seen the 48v u87 clone which had better (and double) circuit board. Although I haven't found a review for that yet.
Its actually a good mic ... Technology is always ahead of the curve 🔥🔥 and great vid bro
Medium diaphragm capsules are under rated. This one sounds quite good!
BEST REVIEW OF THE MIC SO FAR, THANKS DUDE!!
agreed
FWIW I liked the temu best unprocessed, even more than the warm with processing.
I thought the same.. like damn sounds better unprocessed.

Yep, there’s no way they could copy some stickers and include them! lol It must be real! Lol

Spoilers. It’s decent! Thanks for watching!
I have one and it's one of the best bang for your buck.
That was crazy. That actually sounded better on sources, as you say probably to do with the size of the diaphragm.
It sounds amazing on acoustic guitar in the video. Think I'll buy one
Thanks for watching. It’s a very decent mic. Way beyond $20 quality. It’s basically a AT2020.
It seems to be better than the BM-800. Not bad.
Would be nice to see a breakdown of the infrastructure

Great voice man, very listenable.

I just ordered one, to see how they sound. Grrr8 review ✌️👍
Has been good so far? I ordered one too, will get it next week. :D
@@SunLightProject1984 you got a link? cannot find it, thx in advance
@@adamsojka3345link?
@@SunLightProject1984yo do you gotta link???
Hi, what do you do with processing when you play acoustic close to it? Thanks
It sounds pretty good but I think that a deesser is a must have
How can a person add an internal shock mount? Could you do a video on Modifying the Temu Mic? Or if you already haveaybe drop a link?

for the price its pretty impressive but the body (in the recording) of the warm audio blows it out of the water
Would love this mic! Would be grateful for it😊
by the looks of it, the capsule saddle might fit a true large capsule.
Do you play metal? Whats your project called?
Cool vid. Was curious about these. Think they'd make a good backup mic in a pinch.
You don't happen to have an old AKG Perception 100? I have a couple of those and I am curious if the inside of the AKG would fit the exterior body of this fake U87.
How can we be sure it's the same mic you got?
😮 nice quality
It sounded better without the processing? For spoken word at least.
I think that’s because with the processing there was a compressor and that picked up more of the feedback from the mic. Audio from the mic was playing through my monitors at the time.
idk if you read these but why didn't you wan to use the cord it came with??
Because they’re usually cheap and might not work correctly

Every one of the cheap mic’s have S-mall diaphragms! Every one! Lol

I can’t find the U87’s anymore. UA-camrs bought them all 😂
Good singing. Good song. 😀
Thanks for watching
Have anybody an link for this mic?
Please could I have it 🥺?
Not worth anything. I’d feel better buying a couple of beers
Because?
