I've noticed with AI, the inconsistentancy I have is with how many hits they take. Once you learn their behavior, they are not to bad. Sure I still get the random headshot, but as long as I don't re peek the same spot or stand still for to long it never happens. Crouch when need crouching , run/stand when you can.
Funniest part in all that is when the AI will progress in development it will become even more deadlier than now both using weapons [guns, nades] and gain any space awareness. Not to mention when they will start noticing lights, lasers or using NVG. Like you said if you learn to move around them and move overall they are 'reasonable' and at least require some thinking and planning on player side. You can't just bunny hop through locations placing hs all around. People whining are content creators because that kind of gameplay looks bad on streams/videos and people who religiously watch them and expect arcade shooting experience overall. It's overall problem of game industry but thankfully at least as for now MFG is not doing that kind of game for this kind of people.
FN is so difficult as a solo, I get depressed as soon as I see my next task involves running the guantlet of trying to negociate 30 to 40 AI who all try to 1 tap me and more often than not do
It's a military base. I would expect it to be difficult but honestly I hear you dude. Ft. Narith is an absolute nightmare if you're by yourself. I've only managed to do anything there at night. During the day I got smoked multiple times.
In regards to using NVGs with optics, i think they need to make the reticle have adjustments to brightness like real life, as well as make to where you can not use a magnified scope with them. They should lock the gamma and the contrast after a certain in game time to a specific value to make the night mode be dark enough to force players to use lights or nvgs to be effective.
Oooo I like where you are going with this!! Please devs listen to this guy. Also I feel the EOtech with NVGs should be a lot better. Great thoughts and I hope to see what you mentioned in game soon
so being prior army and have used plenty of NVGs in my time, the lpvo and magnified optics are near impossible to use because of NVGs effect your depth perception, although the inability to adjust the red dots brightness level does make it a little harder to use them. Most red dots have an adjustability of brightness for the use of NVGs in the real world. I agree with NVGs being not super needed right now because you can adjust settings to make it were the night is still very visible, but again not having those adjustment would upset a lot of people. I am having fun playing this wipe, and love the adjustments they have done so far.
I hear you here, I feel like it's the best implementation I've seen, it's not easy to use in real life why make it in the game, I really like using them and just adjust my settings for night use that way you can actually use them and ir laser more efficient. But agree that we need to be able to turn down the power of the red dots, like the exp3 have a night vision mode in real life and so on
They should not tone up the AI in PvE. A lot of PvE players are casual players, and if you tune the AI too high you'll lose a lot of casual players who just won't be able to deal with it and won't find it fun. Unironically a skill issue, but it's not an insignificant number of players that would be commercially rough if they were all alienated.
I don't think the AI needs to be toned down for skill issues... i can solo FN but randomly come across one ai that can tank 2 mags into the face and he just doesn't drop due to server issues & bullet sponge. i truly think they need to worry about the real problems before starting to try to give the AI more or less intellect... or that's just how i see it at least. my deepest fear in this game currently as it stands is things like desync and hit registry... not a good thing to have in a game early access or not. games like "Deadside" who are much smaller teams in scale have had things like this figured out before launching so i'm genuinely curious on a development front what is causing this. I also don’t think waiting six months for major AI changes is the right approach. If I were in charge, I’d implement incremental changes to the AI as soon as testing is complete rather than holding out for a big content drop every six months just to appeal to newcomers. Consistent hotfixes throughout the current wipe would be far more effective, especially when it comes to improving engagement from the community.
i have to agree with the inconsistent AI, its MUCH worse after the night ops update, coupled with them popping into existence in plain view at times... its made me tap out before even unlocking ANY lvl 2 traders - when i had all the traders almost completed before the update
The AI in the starter towns and YBL1/Sawmill is very manageable. They are hard but as long as you approach situations carefully/tactically you'll be good. Ft. Narith is fucking terrifying.
Yes that has happened to me as well. Not often though but it does happen. I still believe the AI is miles better than it was before. Also as mentioned before if you approach things carefully and tactically you can maneuver and out gun the AI pretty easily in starter towns. AI doesn’t really become challenging until you hit FT Narith where you get swarmed and possibly pinned down. Tiger bay is a whole different level of 💩 hit the fan at times lol. TBH if you attack a military base it should be very difficult and Tiger bay with all the different avenues of approach and the mall area nooks and crannies it should be difficult even with a full squad
@@abhinavchevula6720 absolutely and I believe it should be that way. Taking on a military base in real life with just a squad (I mean a real squad not just 4 people which would technically be a team) is a death sentence! Especially without mortars and air support. Even then it’s no easy feat and in game I want to feel that difficulty. I just want the AI to have a more consistent feel to them
How much more is needed? I can run the game 70-90 frames with my i7-8700k 1080ti that’s a 5+ year old system they need to get an economy going with actual loot cause right now aside from needing gear, there’s no reason to venture out at all once you have what you need in terms of gear
AI can be tough but my biggest complaint that breaks realism is ADS on an AI while being very quiet and try turn and lock onto you. I have noticed this at hunter paradise mostly but occasionally at fort narith.
The Ai should be top priority, the ai issues need to be adressed, that the ai dont suffer any debuffs or sometimes take straight shots into the head the pve ai needs to be toned down a bit when it comes to theyr lazerbeam shots.
I hear everyone complaining about FN but I feel like FN is a nice challenge. I’m a lvl 10 player who takes the gun of the first kill and continues with that. When you try FN with a Pilad scope (x2,5) or any other zoom-scope it’s really doable. Use grenades when you’re in a risky situation up close and take your time. AI shoots at ur last position when walking trough bushes, so fall down and crawl a bit to the side. A gun under 3.0 MOA is a must in my opinion.
I like the way AI is unpredictable, some are dumb and some are terminator. The ones on FN are trained soldiers...supposed to be hard. I am having more fun them last wipe. And I think the game is easier now. They need to add a random enemy squad walking around the jungle using NVG that will hunt you and more and harder bosses with better loot (weapons and gear).
My biggest complaint with the game is just the inconsistency with AI. Some AI in the same POIs take way too many rounds to go down while others get dropped way too quickly. I’m loving this update though and the realism that comes with this game. I do use NVGs and I would love the option to turn the brightness of red dots up and down to give it more of a real feel. The brightness is just a bit much and if you have ever used NVGs before in real life then you know what I’m talking about. I love the direction the game is going and really do want this game to keep trending upwards and keep optimizing this game. I personally don’t have issues with the game but I’m also running a pretty beefy setup but some of my friends on lower spec systems have a some issues like crashing but even that is not often compared to other games. Since the update getting 220fps isn’t an issue anymore after playing with the settings which I love. Lastly if you using the big boy calibers I want the game to feel like I’m using a big boy caliber. Too many times I’ve hit AI with a solid shot placement with a 7.62x39 and even a headshot just for them to turn and one tap me. It’s not as often as it use to but it’s still an issue. calibers do matter when it comes to armor penetration and overall damage. Overall I love this game and I believe with a few tweaks this game would be perfect in my eyes
GZW will def be a marathon and worth the wait in the long run, but Delta Force is looking like an awesome game to dive into while we wait for GZW to cook
Hey Rich, appreciate your content fella. You do good work sir. Solo playing gets tough (atleast for me) at around level 22. Took me several trips to FN to get tasks done. Wound up teaming up with another player and we got it done. Lots of work to be done but I'm enjoying the challenge of this game. It's got me hooked.
Most complaints come from people that just literally don't look or pay attention. Lots of people just bull rush the AI and take no consideration into what they are running or how many they are facing. It's unironically a skill issue and mostly because you can't just smooth brain your way through every location even on PvE. The devs have done a lot and it's great so far along with some things they started doing just recently. Great hopes for what they have going here and enjoying my 250+ hours so far
Ft. Narith AI is legit scary but it's a military base so I'd expect it to be the most difficult POI on the map. I use them a LOT at night. If you're using NVGs you need to use a laser or a NV compatible optic.
Things should sell for more, costs me 3-4k for an AK12, and I get at most 1k for one. I only bring 1x1 high value loot that I know sells for 1-2.2k (Diamond ring, Luxury Watch etc) and 2x1 like the Rum and Whiskey.
My main issue as a solo is the spawn times on AI somewhere like Fort Narith, by the time I have fought to the HQ they start spawning back in. It kills the immersion. I've seen a game called exfil which looks interesting, squad based extraction game just come to early access.
The gear and weapons losing durability when you die is so annoying. Can’t even get a new gun or armor from pvp when you kill someone. Until they add a way to repair items I feel like this shouldn’t be in the game.
I think anyone who hasn't played Fort Narith on Joint Ops doesn't understand the annoyance of the AI's. I have 3 tasks at LVL 26 that I'm not attempting simply because they AI literally lock onto you, and I've lost 130k in the process of trying these tasks. I'm someone who has 300 hours on the game and I like to think I'm not a bot. The AI, upon engagement, lock on and one tap you. Why don't they run for cover? Or like hip fire in my direction? I haven't served or have any real world combat experience, but I'd imagine, when suppressed, you don't have the ability to look through your sight and one tap someone from 300ft away, when again simultaneously being shot, or shot at. (Might be wishful thinking, point is that they need to be tweaked.) If half the community wants bots to be casual, and the other half wants bots to be hardcore, I feel like there is a happy medium for someone in there. Fort Narith AI can be good! They're military personnel, but they gotta give me a chance, and not force me into Co Op. I think madfinger will only recognize this as an issue when most of the community is complaining because they've hit the same threshold I have. :/ Looking at these comments, that number is definitely going up.
After this latest update, while the performance is better fps wise, the amount of crashes has probably doubled or even tripled for me. The crashes always happen when stepping off the helis, which is so incredibly frustrating. The AI needs to get some serious work, they just seem to be getting worse the more updates that get added. Constantly being tracked through walls, buildings and coverage is just absurd adding in the terminator, sponge AI's who are one tapping you from several hundred meters away is just ridiculous. I get it's a pre alpha but why are they spending resources on things like night ops, when the base game is still suffering with so many major issues with desync, hit reg etc.
my game says i get around average 75 frames although when i turn my character it looks no more than 40 frames (3070, ryzen 7 3700x, 16gb ram). on top of that my fkn main menu screen burnt into my monitor screen lol lot of fixing to do but so fun
yeah for me AI is the one reason im not playing it again, once the AI is fixed I will be playing. The reason I quit was the getting shot through trees and bushes from very far out and then having to wait on a chopper to be available i work full time so if im waiting 10-15 mins to return to battle and hope i don't get lazerd again that is off putting. Ik now they have updated the flight times and thing of that nature to make it quicker but it just left such a bad taste in my mouth that im going to avoid the game until the AI isn't so unreliable. I also remember shooting a AI then running down the hill flanking to the oposite side of the POI and then out of no where a AI runs down the hill straight to my new position and just lasers me as soon as a pixel poked over the hill. it should have never known where i was after i just spent 3 mins flanking to new spot so maybe in another year it will be fixed to be enjoyable IMO.
Considering I could be in concealment where someone wouldn’t be able to turn and locate me in .5 seconds and beam me with a headshot because of how the ai are in fn I lost a lot of kits and my game has crashed going back to base just sitting not in the menus and lost my kit
I thought the starter town bots were meant to be a bit easier....they are crazy cracked, walling & being agro'd from so far away. Friends who play less & aren't as experienced have stopped playing because of the AI. Latency is also an issue and I'd like to see a latency in-game display option like FPS. Australian servers seem to be all over the shop since wipe & NOps update. I don't want PvE bots to be harder than PvP. I'd also like to be able to buy containers at vendor lvl 3. I think the money/loot system is fine...I have no trouble creating wealth. I've noticed AI spawning just a few feet in front of me which never happened before....that's got to go. I've enjoyed using the shotty & AKs early on but have now returned to the M4. Love the improved chopper system and the dawn & dusk lighting just has me looking around in awe....look fwd to weather input. Keep up the content OneShotRich....I like to see the gun builds....maybe slow down & chillax a little more in your presentations, but you get a thumbs up from me. Thanks for listening.
The AI are horrible. I don’t understand how other games can make AI work and they are having suck an issue with it. If I get in cover after getting shot and move. The AI is still shooting at me when I’m moved and behind cover. So the AI see right through obsticals And for instance in Delta Force I was hiding in a bush from a AI cause I didn’t want to give my position away. And the AI walked right by me. So it’s possible. The Dev’s should be solely focusing on performance and AI tell they get it right. The AI is the main reason I don’t play as much and I have never gotten deep into the missions
Also we need an auto sort stash button. And I agree with the price and economy. You need to have gear fear and reason to go look for value gear. And I think the economy prices and value of stuff is an easy fix and can be simply patched.
There already is an auto sort in stash. I swear most complaints about the game are because of players lack of actually looking around. It's literally at the top of your stash and even has an icon
@ I swear if people would respond with more respect and not being a dick they would get respect back, and that doesn’t change the fact that they need to put all resources to AI and performance and crashes before putting any new content in
Midnight sapphire AI is also cracked and needs a looking at. Not having to fight all of tiger bay and similar areas at once is a huge improvement from last wipe but please mad finger, fix the AI.
i humbly can't agree with joint ops getting a toned up AI when just in general right now the ai is inconsistent with hit registry & desync, coupled with just general typical early access AI behaviour and pathing. Respectfully i truly believe they just need to heavily go back to the drawing boards in regards to AI as a whole. PvE should feel scary but not in a bullet spongey/jank type of regard.
Personal take, I don't like mixed PvE and PvP. It's too easy to be griefed while doing non-PvP stuff. I play GRZ strictly in Joint Operations. If I wanna shoot other players I'll play Squad or Hell Let Loose.
i am not going to lie, with the ai being as cracked as they are, i have switched to joint ops exclusively, the thought of pvp against enemies theoretically harder than the bots already laying me out, sounds awful.
This is what happens when the DEV team has a big EGO and wont listen to the community the AI is broken period the max intensity of the AI for all places around the map should be like YBL 01 all the other AI should be toned down way down imagine being a solo player going to fort or midnight or tigerbay or blue lagon with the Aimbot AI they have right now the game is good all they need to do is tone down the AI fix your PvE for the PvP to be playable
5:26 I'm going to disagree. NODs are a huge advantage at night. I can always see the enemy long before they see me. I recommend experimenting with Red Dots under NODS. Some have good sight picture and others are terrible. Scopes are literally dog water under NODs and I imagine it's some kind of balance mechanic. Like, we will let you have an advantage of seeing the enemy first but not being able to pick them off from a distance. My preference is to run the T1 red dot. You can get it from Gunny at level 1. Has a super clear sight picture and the red dot itself is not overly bright in your eyes while under NODS so you can still see the enemy as you line up the sight on them.
Spent 10 days on "Night Ops" patch now I'm back to Reforger. The AI is still trash. The NVG's are a joke. Nobody uses them. They may have made some improvements/added some gear. But overall it's not playable. The long guns are trash. Progression is overly frustrating with the current AI and there's still nothing facilitating squad play. So it's still a bunch of solos running around dying to aimbots. Lame and not the update I expected AT ALL. Pretty disappointed given the amount of time they are taking. Honestly wishing I had not given them my money. I lost faith after this patch. I don't see Madfinger being able to make the improvements necessary to make this game viable. PVP really needs to be completely reworked and they've already said they're not going to fix it. Which means PVE is the only option and it's still such a mess after this patch it seems like they are really just running a five year cash grab.
I enjoy this game, but the update is awful; who requested night/day? This isn't real content. The game feels lacking, and they have altered so much to drag out content. The AI in Forth Narith is severely broken as they don't know how to fix it properly! What night feels a touch darker than daylight, what arms, mp5 and ak 12, 15, 19. incredible content, identical quests in varying places, I’m sure you’re having a great time! I complete every objective, but I wouldn't suggest this game to my enemies! 😂
Everything else aside, the biggest reasons the game sucks dogballs, is the stiff movement and the helicopter exfils/infils. Just go ahead and remove the helicopters altogether, force players to traverse the map to get to the destinations, right now players are just flying in naked to pick up the gear they lost, rinse repeat.
I've noticed with AI, the inconsistentancy I have is with how many hits they take.

No one cares about pve. Go play tarkov spt
I think we need some DMRs. 308 and 7.62x54R
I hope GZW will have pkp and face masks in the future. Those are real effective gears against aimbots and zombie waves.

Imho all this game need is 1.optimization and 2. Ai fix…
Also key spawns. I get rare keys being rare but holy moly
How u get a one tap in the head and it breaks both ur legs lol😂
Madfinger please please PLEASE find a way to make cash auto-stack in inventory when picked up.
i humbly can't agree with joint ops getting a toned up AI when just in general right now the ai is inconsistent with hit registry & desync, coupled with just general typical early access AI behaviour and pathing. Respectfully i truly believe they just need to heavily go back to the drawing boards in regards to AI as a whole. PvE should feel scary but not in a bullet spongey/jank type of regard.
at least the optimization is little bit better from the launch. with dlss I have 90-120 with 2080ti 2k. They have to focus on optimization everyupdate
With my monitor I don't need night vision not evern close it needs to go darker
This is what happens when the DEV team has a big EGO and wont listen to the community the AI is broken period the max intensity of the AI for all places around the map should be like YBL 01 all the other AI should be toned down way down imagine being a solo player going to fort or midnight or tigerbay or blue lagon with the Aimbot AI they have right now the game is good all they need to do is tone down the AI fix your PvE for the PvP to be playable
i cant play the game on my 7800x3d with 7900xtx madfingers fix your damn game i was able to play fine last wipe
stunning game. lots of potential. fix ai yes but first fix hacker problem; some people can see u thru bushes and one shot u.
I quit directly do to the AI this patch.
Toning down AI in PvP,….. why? Just a skill issue. Then time more carefully when to engage.
It almost like this game is in EA and still needs to improve 🙄
Low player base right now under 1400 player. I dont understand game is freakjng GREAT.
Optimisation not good yeah but big patch coming 🤷♂️👍
Mosin is cray good for killing AI. I get kill by Ai like million time and I getting used to it😂
5:26 I'm going to disagree.
I dont agree i love challenging IA.
Nvg look like trash. Looks very grainy
