Welcome onboard Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas! We are sailing seven nights from Galveston Texas on a Western Caribbean itinerary visiting Roatan Honduras, Costa May Mexico, and Cozumel Mexico! We are onboard this Freedom Class ship to try some new offerings, such as the Tidal Wave waterslide, Saturday Night Fever theatre show, and Sabor modern Mexican cuisine restaurant! There are also many Royal Caribbean staples onboard such as Studio B ice skating rink, Perfect Storm waterslides, FlowRider surf simulator, and Windjammer buffet!
Welcome to Roatan Honduras! This is our first time cruising to this port and we have a very exciting excursion today! We are visiting two different animal sanctuaries featuring sloths, monkeys, and iguanas! The amount of interaction we experienced with these animals was incredible! We one-on-one cuddled with sloths, played with capuchin monkeys, and fed iguanas! We learned so much about these creatures and had an unforgettable day! Transportation, entry, guide, and information was included in this Royal Caribbean excursion!

I was there last month with my dad on the Oasis. We thought we had missed out on the sloth sanctuary when the excursions were all booked up. We ended up getting a private driver who took us around the island and to the sanctuary. We ended up having the monkey cage and sloth to ourselves and spent more time with them while the ship excursion guests had like 14 people cramped into one cage and had to share the same amount of time if not less. I had 3 parrots on me. One in each arm. I definitely recommend going on your own. Get a private driver for $80 for 2 people. It included the sloth exibit. He took us to the chocolate factory, and gift shops and where ever we wanted to go. Dont be afraid to haggle with the "gauntlet of sales people".

I think we just did something at the beach. Oh it was Tabyana Beach Party! You should check to see if they have good snorkeling there.
LOVED the video from inside the cages with the monkeys! It's like the animal version of taking a GoPro on the zipline at Labadee. Now I know what it's like, I don't have to do it myself. Ha! (But my husband eats up all the critter interaction, so I'll stay outside the cage and take pictures.)

Fantastic tour! We've been to Roatan once before and we did the chocolate tour at the botanic gardens (which I highly recommend), and we're going back in April and doing a beer tour... so this would be a really neat excursion to try instead the next time we stop in Roatan! Thanks for the tip!

Roatan is one of our family's favorite places. We are no longer doing Carnival cruises but their port for this island is really nice compared to that one, but I think RC also do tours to Mahogany Bay. Cannot wait to see this port in July!

We did this same exact excursion on our last carnival cruise over New Years!! Sid was the male they had out for us! Patrica was the female and I got to hold her. She was so cute and soft and she smelled so nice! And ommgggg the monkeys. They were so entertaining. One nibbled my husbands ear and kept digging in it 😂 We got video of it digging in his pocket too haha. We said the same thing as you! That excursion seriously made the entire 7 day cruise. We will book it every time we cruise through Roatan. I want to hold one of the sloths again so bad!

We visited over thanksgiving. The sloth tour was fun but getting there was a bit unsettling. Walking to driver's van through a narrow corridor with all these young guy gawking at my daughters. Then the driver HAD to get gas and at the gas station there was a guard wielding an assault rifle while another patron had to relay to my driver how beautiful my daughter was. After the animal park the driver offered to take us to some other sites, but I just wanted to get back to the ship. We were on RC. Costa Maya was lame but Cozumel (dolphins and ATV'ing) and CocoCay were great days.
