I need someone to tell me why SNSD (and what it means) is associated with GIRLS GENERATION. ❤❤❤❤❤
SNSD means: So-nyuh Shi-dae,
or rather, 소녀시대,
which is the Korean word for "Girls Generation" ... kind of.
SNSD is short for So-nyuh Shi-dae (S - N S-D) also often "SoShi" as well.
Most fans who have become associated with SNSD from earlier years refer to SNSD as SNSD, instead of Girls Generation. Later in their career they have become more popular and more often referred to as Girls Generation, or even GG.
The fans tend to refer to themselves as "Sones."

The group's Korean name is So-nyuh Shi-dae (Korean: 소녀시대; Hanja: 少女時代; RR: Sonyeo Sidae), from the Sino-Korean root meaning "Generation of Girls"; they are also known as SoShi (소시) or SNSD, both of which are abbreviated forms of the group's Korean-language name.[2][3] Because their name consists of Chinese roots, the group's name is similar in Chinese and Japanese: in Japan the group's name is pronounced as Shōjo Jidai (少女時代),[4] and in Mandarin Chinese as Shàonǚ Shídài (simplified Chinese: 少女时代; traditional Chinese: 少女時代).[5]
