True story, no automatic locks but key entry on a car from the 70's...came out of the bar (when I was young and dumb).and put the key in the lock and it would not turn, I peed on the lock and the key turned immediately. I don't know if it was from the warm pee, or the alcohol in it, or a combination of both, but it worked.
Hot water does _not_ crack car windows.🙄 Modern laminated windscreens are made of layers of glass fused together with a plastic PVB layer, so they don't conduct enough heat to force the glass to shatter. Glass is also pretty good at absorbing and dispersing heat/cold. Your only caveat is when you're either a) Experiencing extreme eg -20ºC temperatures and being so daft as to pour boiling water (100ºC) on your windscreen. Or b) Experiencing a similar temperature but your window already has a _noticeable_ chip or crack - ie it was going to crack sooner or later anyway whatever the temperature, given its integrity is already compromised - and _then_ you pour eg 80ºC water on it. Warm to hot water - around 40ºC - 70ºC is absolutely fine to use in -10ºC temperatures. I wish so-called experts who don't appear to understand basic physics wouldn't spout this absolute guff. You're just as responsible for giving him airtime, while promoting his business - did you not think of _verifying_ his claims? He manages a tyre company, ffs - rubber not glass.
