    Thanks. My parrot's feathers are more spade shaped. I collected several during his last moult, so I'm going to try tying parrot flies this way.

    Does he ever use black thread with olive or green hackle?

      Tenkara USA thank you. So he pretty much just realizes that color is not important and just uses what he has or what looks cool, right?

      @@flyfishingeasternsierras8664 Sorry for the late response, just seeing this now. Pretty much, he uses mostly what he has on hand. Black seems to be his standard, but I have seen him tying with green thread, and occasionally a light color thread like light gray.
