  • Insurance adjusters will try to get roofing contractors and insurance repair contractors to accept their lower Xactimate repair estimates, they will try to get the contractor to repair the problem instead of replace it correctly, according to building codes, which are laws. They will try to get the insurance restoration contractor to remove line items from the Xactimate estimate. The insurance adjuster will try literally everything. Here are many methods that the contractor can use to shut down the objections of the insurance adjuster. To all the insurance adjusters out there who will watch this, thank you for watching.     How do you handle some of these companies that switched from using Xactimate to Symbility for their estimates (liberty mutual, safeco, mountain valley and a few others) when I write a estimate line for line with what they have the Xactimate comes in about $4,000 higher on just a roof claim that’s without adding any supplements yet. Every time they tell me they use Symbility pricing and will not pay based on Xactimate pricing when that has been the industry’s standard for years? It’s hard to take off $4,000 per roof and still be profitable. Also have a fire claim with Safeco and the difference between the Xactimate and Symbility is over $30,000 (line for line) and they refuse to accept our Xactimate price even after policy holder spoke with management and agent.

      I know what you mean, brother. See if this video helps you out a bit. This method is what I do anytime I encounter an adjuster who has to use Symbility. Try to start with a photo report to trigger a second adjuster coming out. The incentive for them to get the approval to use Xactimate is you doing their work for them. You do this by offering your ESX file. See video. Also… make sure your estimates include everything from scratch and not just the additional items. Insist on using Xactimate because it is the most current market value and the most up to date and therefore the most accurate. Tell them that your company does not utilize Symbility prices. If they want to use Symbility they will have to add labor hours or something to bring it up to your price. Tell them that would be the only way you will go along.       that sounds like a scam within itself. Two programs way off from each. Who made the programs? The insurance companies? Wouldn't surprise me. Total scam artist tactics.
