I pledged for the Max, the EBL, dark detail and brightness was all I needed, and the 110% of REC 2020, I was saving for a JVC NZ700, but the way this has gone for the money, has me pretty excited
Thanks for posting this! Since it only has the single mounting point how did you ceiling mount? Did you use any special adapters or hardware? If so, would you mind sharing links to what you used? Thanks again!!!
I'm sorry, but I don't have a link for the mount. A long time ago, I had a projector with a single 1/4" mount like this one. I had to combine two different type of mounts to adapt it to my setup. Luckily, I saved the mount and was able to dig it up and use it for the Valerion.
The projector can be set up witin minutes after logging into your Google account. I'm using the ALR screen they offer with the package. I've also tried it on a cheap matte white screen and it looks fantastic!
@@NewStuffTV1 Did you notice any laser speckle with this screen? And did you use it while the Valerion projector was mounted to the ceiling? If so, did you need to rotate the screen to get the best ALR effect?
I have a high celling and my current EPSON 8700 UB is mounted 4 feet below from the ceiling. Can I use the existing mount to mount the pro 2? Or do I need to get something different? Thank you for the video!
@@NewStuffTV1 mind sharing the mounts model u used, I am new to all this. The one they are offering on their kickstart website does not seem to go beyond 43 cm in total but I am sure there are third party mounts that I should be able to use for this
@vineetbhardwaj8633 I don't have links to any of the hardware I used. It's something I put together over 5 years ago to use with a different projector.
Fantastic upload, thx alot 👍. What screen do you have? Looks amazing. A white or grey (ALR) one? What will be the best option for a room with controlled lights?
I've an old JVC RS500 projecting a 120" screen. The Pro 2 should have no problem projecting a 150" image, FWIW. Since I do not have the pj yet, I would not know how the contrast would be. The old JVC is about 2x the Pro 2 when new. This Kickstarter is a bargain, comparing to the TCL. GL.
for the Max/Pro2 model (contains .9-1.5 optical zoom lens) you have a throw range of 7 to 12 feet for a 110". for the Plus/Plus2 model(contains 1.2 fixed lens) you need a specific throw distance of 9.5 feet.
Have you ever seen this rainbow effect in person? I haven't. When filming videos of TVs and projectors, there is are sometimes bands and rainbows due to the camera sensor and the lasers or the frequency of the contents shown. This is not seen with the human eye in person.
@@NewStuffTV1 I just fan my fingers out and wave them side to side in front of my eyes, and with a DLP I can see all 3 primary colours seperated! Although, I don't recommend doing this, as once you've seen rainbows you've open the door to seeing them. But, on the positive side, I've seen a few reviews that say RBE is much improved compared to older DLP projectors. I couldn't cope with them on the first generation DLP's, back in the day.
The quality features are the same but it has a fixed lens ,1000 less lumens and the EBL dynamic contrast ratio is lower.( Pro2 model and above 15K:1, Plus2 model and lower 10K:1)
This is wild !!!!! What is the screen you have ? Can you see laser speckle? From what they'll start to blend with the image and are not disturbing factor
Laser speckle from triple laser projectors usually results from projecting onto a reflective surface. Use a matte white surface screen or non-glossy/semi-gloss on painted walls.
In the video, I'm using it with the ALR screen Valerion provided. I personally us it with a matte white 120" drop down screen. I on the ALR, the speckle isn't even noticeable until you actually look for it. On the matte white, I cant see it at all. I also own an Elite Screens CineGrey 5D, I'm going to experiment with that one in a couple of weeks.
@NewStuffTV1 I'd be very grateful if you could find it faster than a couple of weeks. Actually, b4 Nov 24th, when Valerion Kickstarter ends, I don't want to lose the price offer for frensel ALR if my Cinegrey 5D sucks
So even though it haven’t been put on the market yet truly you would buy it without a doubt? What If it comes damaged or needs fixing. Do you know if Valerion will cover that support?
@madegy9895 It's a Kickstarter product as of right now. There are always going to be risk with that. However, Valerion is a sister brand of AWOL, which is a very reputable company.
@@NewStuffTV1 Most of the risk is in investing in a new company doesn't have a track record of bringing a quality product to market. When I heard the name Valerion alone, I cooled my heels at first. Once I later found out that it was a sister company of AWOL I pledged for the Plus 2. Cant wait!
@@NewStuffTV1 I already asked in another comment about if you found a new home for the Hisense C1 in your kitchen or bathroom? You can forget about the C2!!🤣
@@NewStuffTV1 If you look closely (and stop the video) , you can see that the 3 colors are offset to each other, which is a typical rainbow effect during fast motion. Cameras capture all colors at the same time and can´t produce that effect IMO. But maybe you can correct me....hopefully ;)
How long ago was it, a month maybe , when I was telling you to look out for the Hisense C2 Ultra. Then AWOL drops this Valerion VisionMaster on us. EBL is the killer app for lifestyle projectors! Is it safe to say that your Hisense C1 has now been put out to pasture?😉
Yep! I even said it in this video. I it's a blessing and a curse that this technology is moving so fast. One week you have the best on the market... Then literally next Tuesday something comes out with a new feature that blows it away! I still haven't tried the C2 Ultra though. I'm sure it doesn't have the optical zoom which is a major deal to me.
@@NewStuffTV1 The C2 Ultra does have the same optical zoom but it does not have the dynamic EBL software for contrast level improvement. Also, the popular UA-cam technical reviewer, "the hookup" made a comparison last week of all the new 4th quarter lifestyle projectors and states that, he was looking for flaws but the Valerion is the best he's ever seen. My pledge is in!
I was considering getting the Hisense C2 Ultra and was waiting to see more reviews when I came across the Valerion some time back. I ended up going for the Max. From all the hands on it seems good, but the Max has a few more tech, which also means more failure points. The main question now is reliability and customer support. I'll at least see how people are responding to it until May. The XGIMI Horizon Ultra also has optical and digital zoom. It's weakness is the black level. I'm upgrading to the Valerion's Max when it comes out.
How does the picture of the Pro 2 compare to the Hisense px3 pro? Which one has the better black level? I would be interested in a video like this.
