- hello!! it's been a while since i last posted. i wanted to update my list of my ranking of love live voices! I included A-rise, Sunny Passion, and newer Nijigasaki girls, so there is a total of 42 girls! It was super hard to rank them all because I love all their voices but I tried my best to rank them reasonably by singing skill. Let's all be respectful of everyones opinions and enjoy their lovely voices hehe :3

I've been listenung to Maki's singles to try to understand why so many people love her voice so much
And although I like her voice when she talks, I just can't learn to appreciate her overall nasally voice in a lot of her songs
I guess it really just comes down to personal preference...

Her voice is powerful and at the same time is cute.
Her vibratto is decent.
The way she enphatizes and put emotion into her voice can outshine any u's member. She is the best at it.
Other Maki stans can have different opinions, but that's why i like her voice.

I feel like Kanan's high notes have gotten much better over time, so she doesn't struggle with them anymore like she used to.
Nice list. My only real gripe (and even that is a strong word for it) is penalising for nasal voices. Japanese is a very nasal language, so naturally, the singing will be quite nasal too. It's funny too because a lot of your high ranked voices are also very nasal, but they may not have registered as such. Your number 1 pick is a good example of this, actually ;).
To be fair to you tho, I am a trained singer so of course I'll be more attuned to this stuff.

Yeah most of them sound nasally so to use that as an argument is kinda weird, itd be like ranking French artists and saying "no this one is "throaty"" like they all are
It’s more of a popularity contest.. top ten are all popular characters with socially accepted voices. People are more willing to forgive “flaws” with popular girls.
Ranking the voices by skill can be incredibly hard, some of the girls have a ton of skill but might have stylistic singing or heavily voice-acted voices. Some of the girls are also better at emotional singing than others, while some are held back by their natural vocal tones. I tend to rate the voices based on overall control and vibrato. Flat-toned voices rate lower, and voices struggling to hit notes or having extreme strain will also rate lower. So for instance Chika has insane singing skills, both in emotion and vibrato, but her tone tends to cause people to rate her lower. Kotori also has a really good singing voice, but is very voice-acted in many of her songs. Yoshiko has incredible control in both her high and low range, and Mari easily has one of the best high singing voices, but again heavily voice acted. Our overall opinions vary greatly, but I very much agree with your bottom three.
this--also interesting to note that kotori had much better technique with vibrato before they made her voice squeakier (compare spicaterrible and blueberry train for example)

Mari is somewhat like yoshiko she can have low voice and high voice. but i dont think anyone in love live can do mari voice. not to mention the aina actually won multiple singing award prior to Aqours at 18 old.
muse is such a mixed bag, the lowest two and highest one are all muse
My rank is very similar to yours. Eli's seiyuu (Nanjolno) is the vocalist of phase 2 fripSide, the one who sang only my railgun. No wonder she has such an amazing angelic voice.❤

Fr I love Nozomi but her singing gives me a tension headache
it’s so difficult to rank certain girls because they’ll have such amazing vocals one minute then go super squeal-like and pitchy - especially in muse. however it feels like the show has made an effort to let the girls use a more “natural tone” muse borders on nightcore sometimes.
however, top vocals for me are definitely.

there should be a factor on how the voices fit the characters
(there are times when they don't sound like a character but rather siding towards the seiyuu's default chest voice)
this list is pretty good! but if it was based on vocal skills entirely mari would be 1st tbh!
Theory:
-Niji is the perennial solo singer, they would outsung anyone barring Yohane in solo music.
-Aqours has the best unit singing, start with Azalea who are mostly covered well with pretty song. It escalated dramatically with GK, the spotlight stealer.
-U has the best whole singing, mainly because the songwriter writing for them is too good along with collaboration.

Eli, Yohane, Sarah, and Setsuna might be my overall favorite voices in the whole franchise so I'm glad they're high up in the list. Umi and Rin should be higher though (Rin specially)

I went into this video thinking if Eli wasn't ranked first, I was gonna riot. Needless to say, I'm a very happy camper. I listen to Yoshino Nanjo's voice on the daily and absolutely loved her role as Kiria in Tokyo Mirage Sessions (an RPG based on idols) cause she slayed every single song of hers in that game.
I like your top 5…! btw, what is ur opinion on Wien’s voice and where would you rank her…?
I refuse to believe that there are people out here who do not put Rin's voice at top 1, and if not that top 5 at least

@@rh1nestone3yes Maki's voice was not nasally. I think it depends on the song genre she was singing. For example the Maki version of Aisheteru Banzai wasn't even nasally at all.

Himitsu to Hanazono - 5/10 Maki’s voice is soothing, though not the style nor genre I’d listen to
Aishiteru Banzai!(Prepro) - Solid 10. Brings back so much nostalgia, can’t rank it any lower
START:DASH!!(Prepro) - 9/10, it sounds like Pile is kinda straining a bit?? Idk how to word it but it doesn’t sound like it naturally comes to Pile
Daring!! - 8/10, I don’t hate it, but again, it isn’t my style but I do like hearing it on ALL STARS daily’s
Mogyutto “Love” de Sekkin Chuu! - 10/10; Her non-nasally voice shines here, it doesn’t necessarily sound strained but like it comes to Pile. Sounds a bit vibrato lol
Aishiteru Banzai! - 1/10 NOPE NOPE NOPE I hate that they made it more upbeat. The piano did her so much more justice by being so calm but this?? NO! It sounds so strained, poor Pile!
soldier game - 7/10, Not my genre so bumping it down. I do really love Maki’s(since I’m listening to her mix) and Umi’s voices here. They did good
Wonderful Rush - 8/10; Meh I do really like her rapping part. The calmer bits without the shouting do her voice really good
Oh, Love & Peace - 9/10 Wow listening to an old song through a mix lol- Anyway Maki’s voice here shines because of the calmer tones to the song, would def listen to her’s and Rin’s mixes for it more often
Bokura wa Ima no Naka de - 10/10, again, too much nostalgia to bump it down though Maki does sound kinda like Nico so idk how to feel about that
WILD STARS - 6/10; Sounds strained at the beginning, like before the “Hajimaritai WILD STARS”, but after that she sounds good due to the calming song anyway. I wouldn't listen to it normally.
Kitto Seishun ga Kikoeru - 10/10, the calmer tones def showed Maki’s good voice. The higher pitched songs seem like its hard to register with Maki’s voice so its nice getting a calm song paired with a calmer Maki voice.
Kaguya no Shiro de Odoritai - Oh god I love this song so much. 10/10. I love the vibrato in Maki’s voice SO MUCH. UGH. Too good Pile!
Korekara no Someday - 9/10, wouldn’t listen to it normally but Maki’s voice shines here even during the “Someday itsu no hi ga” parts
Wonder zone - 6/10, always thought of this song for Kotori mainly so it feels weird hearing Maki sing it. I don’t like it too much but her voice is half and half pleasing to the ear.
No brand girls - 9/10 due to nostalgia again, but other than the ‘oh yeah’s she sounds wonderful
START:DASH!! - 7/10, during the “Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey START:DASH!!” she sounds strained but other than that its fine. Also her amazing “Tsuyoi tsubasa deeeee tobu” sends me.
Music S.T.A.R.T!! - Obvi 10/10. Its Maki’s song fr. No other comment.
LOVELESS WORLD - 8/10, always thought of this song for Nico but maybe a NicoMaki mix wouldn’t be bad. She doesn’t sound so strained? Idk
Takaramonozu - 9/10 I love the song, but I don’t know how I feel about Maki singing it since I see it fitting Honoka, Rin, and Nico more? I don’t even know lol but I don’t really think I’ll listen to her mix again
Paradise Live - 10/10. Her “Three! Two! One! Live!” SENT ME. Her voice is nicely pitched to where it doesn’t sound strained but it sounds cute! I would listen again
Sore wa Bokutachi no Kiseki - 10/10, obvi its good. It’s S2’s OP! Nostalgia factor. Maki doesn’t sound too bad here.
Datte Datte aa Mujou(? I’m looking at the JP version of the title ok-) - 7/10, her voice is calmer here. I like it but wouldn’t normally listen.
Donna Toki mo Zutto - Everyone sounds good in their mix of this song. 10/10.
COLORFUL VOICE - 5/10. I like her voice but hate the song.
Yume no Tobira - 4/10; wouldn’t normally listen to like at all.
SENTIMENTAL StepS - 5/10, sounds like a nursery rhyme. Its calm so I don’t care for it. It isnt too bad but gives me Kanata vibes.
Love wing bell - 2/10. Always saw it as a RinPana wedding song lol. Hate Maki with it.
Dancing stars on me! - 4/10. I’ve never liked this song in general, Maki doesn’t do too bad.
KiRa-KiRa Sensation! - 2/10. Always skipped it in the Anime. I hate this song so much idk why but the thing giving it a 2 is Maki’s cutesy voice.
I have to def admit that I do give her less credit than is due to her, but she's never been my fav μ's girl and I would rather listen to a calmer voice like Rin. Though I am a Nijigaku fan

i know little to nothing about love live, i did play the game exclusively for like 2 weeks but i remember hanayos voice being really different in early works like 2012 or something, she didnt sound like a hamster back then i mean
