I actually own this pedal. It does sound good. But when I went out on tour with the Motown group The Miracles I took my Jptr Jive. It’s a much more authentic tape saturation pedal and really gives you that old Motown sound. I’m from that era and remember well how good hitting tape made the bass sound and have used that sound for decades.

I'm a huge lover of this pedal and every sound guy has been digging my Hofner sound since I started using it. Takes them like 5 seconds to get me dialed. It just sits right into the mix like the glue it needs to be.

Have you ever tried Origin DCX Bass? I feel like it gets a similar sound, though I've got to get my bass through a DECO

I bet it would be killer on snare. I like to use a little distortion sometimes so the saturation would probably be a great alternative 😊

For a pedal that just do the saturation, you should try the JPTR FX Jive Reel Saturator.
