I'm a bit obsessed with Good Omens music videos at the mo and this is the best I've seen. Wow, your timing and editing is breathtaking. Feels like a professional video for the official soundtrack or something!
I've lost count of how many times I've watched this. It is perfect, especially the final verse: "Last things last: by the grace of the fire and the flames, you're the face of the future, the blood in my veins..."
This is like a Crowley manifesto in an absolute banger of a song, and the timing and choices you made are just. Epic. I think I drummed on the table and squeed the moment he spun the hand crank. And every single beat and cut before 'pain', just. YES. This vid needs to make the rounds hard in this fandom, seriously.
This is Crowley's motto for life. This definitely suits Crowley. He is strong, resilient and never gives up. Love him with all my demon heart. #Awakethesnake 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 ❤❤❤❤❤
THIS IS MAJESTIC. I can't imagine the kind of hard work it took to make the quicker parts fit with the music. WOW. Such a perfect song for them and you made it justice :D
It's actually a lot easier than I thought it would be before I started making these! I use Lightworks, which has an audio visualizer and lets me add cue markers to the track, so the first thing I do is load in the song audio and add cue markers to the lyrics and the major instrumental moments that I want to hit-- that lets me know exactly how many frames I have to work with in any given section. Then it's just about four to six hours of scrubbing through footage for the scenes I want and trimming out the right moments. Occasionally I'll have to re-cut something a bunch of times to get something synched up exactly the way I want it-- the escalator scene in this particular edit was redone several times because I wanted them to step onto the escalator at a specific beat, and I fiddled with Aziraphale's timing on tapping the dove for a similar reason-- but I don't do anything really fancy with effects or anything, so I have plenty of time to be picky about exact frame placement, lol. The real challenge with those short segments is actually getting them to be LONG ENOUGH-- the lyrics go by very fast, but the eye can only track so many rapid scene changes. It helps to keep them internally consistent-- so for instance the segment with Aziraphale and Crowley exchanging glances (followed by a slightly longer shot of Crowley kicking a door in) follows a shot/reverse shot exchange-- Az to Crowley, then Crowley to Az-- so there's less visual confusion. Then I linger on the door-kicking a little longer to give the eye a rest. Following short choppy sequences with longer ones is generally easier for visual processing, I think.
YAAAASSSS!!! MY FAVE BAND AND FAVE SERIES! LEZGO! Edit: Okay,I liked it before it even started, and I love how this is Crowley-focused cause the song fits him well, very well! Cause he's definitely believed once more the moment he met Aziraphale. He became the drive that he needed, the reason why he remained, the reason why he would risk everything And now,I'm emotional T_T I just love this little bit a good person of a demon, okay!? I'm gonna have a moment here Adding this song in to my Ineffable Husbands~
To be honest, I started making these a couple of months ago because I wanted to make four very specific videos and then never planned to make any more, lol. Now I make a few videos every couple of weeks. It's all spun wildly out of control! It's a fun little hobby, though. :)
I speak on behalf of others when I say that I know what makes this work is the timing of the lyrics and music to the scene playing and how it's relevant and/or fits perfectly. Honestly, love it so freaking much! Amazing work!
This is great! I really like your scene choices; sometimes they seem benign visually but really connect to the character and it works very well. Awesome edit!
OMFG THAT WAS SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NICELY done, my friend! AWESOMELY timed! EXPERTLY selected. Can I like something five times? Cause I wanna like this five times!
I really liked the timing of the scenes with the music!

thank you for the remark about the beats before 'pain'! didn't notice it myself, rewatched with this in mind, indeed!

THE SNAP AT THE END
Man this show rocks.
I love how you chose to put the images together with the lyrics, esp Crowley signing his name
Who speaks in that tongues language... It speaks to my soul. Dan Reynolds, I wish it to really real. You are my dirty 🐾 s ...Favorite!
You did a great job matching sequences with the lyrics! I love the cut choices you made, especially with dead dove to live dove cuts.
