Hi guys, New subscriber alert. Thank you for this video, and what a lovely 'van you have. I'm a sucker for a 2 berth - they are so cute. Now going through the content i've missed out on. Take care Dan
Hi Dan, thank you so much for watching and subscribing, that means a lot to us! We watched so many of your videos when we were embarking on our new caravan adventure, they helped us a lot! Thanks again, and all the best Mac & Sarah
@@MacSarah Oh thats so lovely to read, and really kind of you to say so, Thank you. Im loving your videos so far. Plough Lane in Chippenham is literally just down the road from us, and Chippenham is where I lived and met Angela 25 years ago. Keep up the great work, hopefully we can arrive at the same site sometime soon. Take care Dan
I couldn’t imagine 2 people more perfect for caravan travelling life and perfect for Dozer too😍 can’t wait to follow all your adventures with your new caravan
Good choice to get a caravan at your time of life ..when you're younger your in the fast lane and in a hurry to do everything.and go everywhere..RVing (it's the only description available) is about taking your time to savore the the finer things in life and enjoying the journey as you go on your adventures!!.❤️🇬🇧
We can't agree more, it's absolutely about taking our time and enjoying the moments. We had so many great trips already 🙂 thanks for watching and leaving us a comment 👍🏼
A Hereford bull of mine was called Dozer for obvious reasons (BULLDOZER) ha. He was a beauty also and not much lighter in colour than your Dozer bless them both.
Your near new caravan is just perfect. I couldn’t believe it had a previous owner of 11 years it looks like new! We so look forward to following along on your caravaning adventures. Bring it on 👌 🖤
Aww thanks guys!! This is definitely a new adventure for us. The van is in such great condition, we couldn't believe our luck 😀 thanks so much for watching ❤️ lots of love xx
Lovely relaxing video to watch guys,I remember our family caravaning holidays as a younger lad n I'd love to own my own van one day it appeals to me a lot . Thanks for sharing 👍 👌
Ah thanks Don, thats so great to hear! We're definitely loving it so far, every trip is like a mini adventure! Thanks so watching, much appreciated! 👍🏼
Thanks Graham, we're making great memories and have lots of trips planned! Your vlogs have helped us a lot and we're happy subscribers of yours 😊. Thanis for watching, we really appreciate it!
Congrats on the new Caravan. We bet you’re going to really like having your own bed and little slice of home on your future adventures. We’ve been getting a good amount of enjoyment from our trailer which we purchased two years ago. Happy travels.
Great video, we’re enjoying watching your content and we’ve subscribed. We are looking at a huge family caravan, but we also love your 2 berth, a perfect size! Looking forward to your adventures and recommendations. Keep those vids coming! Thank you.
Hey David, thanks very much!! We really appreciate it 🙂 a caravan is great for a family and our little van is jidy right for us. It's such a brilliant way to get away!! Thanks again for watching!
Lovely dog enjoy every day with him. Lost our brownie Barney. It's terrible pain you go through.. good luck on your travels hope he goes on a long time yet.
We were late in life starting caravanning for the same reason as you. When all the offspring left home and we had no one to look after our dogs we bought our first van and took them with us. We love it wish we had started years ago. We like the quiet life so only use adult only dog friendly CL sites, preferably on the Norfolk Lincoln coast. The beaches are big and open with hardly anyone on them perfect for letting our dog have a good run. Good luck on your future trips.
Hey Bob, thanks for watching and getting in touch! We agree, those are the kind of sites we prefer too! Sounds like we need to check out the Norfolk and Lincolnshire coasts. Thanks again, safe travels 👍🏼
Thank Paul! Tell you what, I'm still bowled over by the air awning, it's amazing!!! And best of all we got it on ebay for about a third of the cost new! Thanks for watching!!
Hello! We have the same van 🎉 just a few years older than yours. We bought it in spring 2023, but sadly, we haven’t got around to using it yet due to circumstances but lovely to see the places you’ve been and recommend staying. We’re quite near Old Oaks, Glastonbury so we plan to do a short trip up there to get used to towing, setting up and if it all goes wrong, we can get home quickly 😅 😂. We have two little dogs, so dog-friendly sites are a must for us, too. Looking forward to more videos! Take good care 😊
Hey there!! Oh that's amazing, it's a great van, hope you manage to get out in it soon! Old Oaks would be perfect, it's one of the most dog friendly sites we've been too as well. we appreciate you watching and leaving us a comment, all the best 😀
Welcome to the lifestyle, were sure you wont regret it especially as your dog owners. there's something special being able to take your pouches away with you. Next week we are to go on our first trip with our new Golden Retriever who will be 30 weeks old and we cannot wait. Happy caravanning
Aww 30 week old? Wonderful!! Yes we absolutely agree, we love taking our boy everywhere and he really seems to enjoy the pace of life when away in the caravan! We've now been away a few more times and we're all loving it!! Thanks so much for watching!!
@@MacSarah Like yourselves we had a Chocolate lab and golden retriever but unfortunately we lost each of them within a year of each other however they had a full life. We managed 12 months exactly to the day after losing our last remaining dog the chocolate lab when we collected Dexter our new Golden retriever. The other two loved going away in the caravan and now we are back to taking our new addition on a new adventure
Your fridge doesn't strictly run off 12v as you suggested. It would last about 6 hours on one battery charge. The 12v option works when you are attached to the car with the engine running. It's to keep the fridge sustained at the temperature it's at whilst you are towing. This feature is dependent on your towbar wiring being right and you may need to turn on the main black switch but not turn on at the panel. We have a big dog too.
Hi Vince, this is great information for us newbies, thank you!!! We figured out it probably wouldn't work like that as we tried it out last week. We have figured out it runs really well on the gas though! Our towing electrics do keep it running while we drive, so that's good. Thanks for watching, we appreciate it!
You need to close off those blue? valves on the air beams. They will keep each beam seperate from the others & if a beam fails you wont lose all your air - just the affected beam will go down. It makes good sense to get into the routine of closing them.
Love this video so much! You guys are such beautiful people and the best doggo parents I really respect this coming from me being ozzys mum I’d do anything to make his holidays still enjoyable in his old age. The caravan is perfect and such a beautiful campsite 😍can’t wait for your next break away in it and to see the adventures you go on 💕
🥰🥰 Thank you so much! Yes we agree, like you we'd do anything for Dozer! Ozzy is a lucky boy to have such a great mum ❤️ Thanks so much for watching!! Xx
Hi mac ans Sarah, we've just started watching your channel because we was thinking of getting and caravan. And because of this video we have now purchased and waiting to pick up our own van.
Hi Faye! Oh my goodness that's fantastic!!! We're so excited for you, it was honestly the best decision we'd made in years 🙂 thanks so much for watching and telling us your amazing news ❤️
Just moved up from a Tent to a caravan....waiting for our first caravan to arrive. Thanks to The Trudgians we have just subscribed!!! Looking forward to your other videos....no pressure!
Hey thanks for taking Dan's recommendation, it's great to have you here ❤️ That's exciting to have your first caravan on order, bet you can't wait to get out 😀 thanks again, all the best 😁
Have just seen trudgians post with you mentioned so have subscribed to your channel as well. We have been to concierge campsite and think it’s probably the best we’ve been to. Keep up the good work
That Coachman is in really great condition I loved the video and caravanning is so great if you have dogs as it seriously limits you otherwise. Great video 🥰
Thanks Dave, we love the van, it's definitely been well looked after! Really glad you liked the video, thanks for checking it out, we really appreciate it!! 👍🏼
Great to watch and hear the story of why you started caravaning. Dogs just love caravan life, our staffy called Touka loves to sit and watch the world go by. Your Amara looks fantastic (hope you find your Sprite as nice) my wife’s Father has one that we use as a bedroom when we visit him. He is 90 now, so his Amara that he bought new no longer goes out and about.
Thanks Alex, buying that as our first caravan was the best thing we'd done in years! It was the perfect intro to caravanning and did exactly what we were hoping on terms of holidays with Dozer! I think Dozer and Touka would get on well, he loves people watching too 🙂 Great to hear your dad still has his Amara, he clearly looked after it well. Thanks for delving back into our back catalogue hehe! Cheers 👍
@@MacSarah yes, he bought it new in 2008, sadly Isabel’s mum passed away 6 months after they bought it, so she only got out in it once. Her dad carried on on his own for years afterwards until quite recently. Our children use it as a bedroom when we visit. It’s so comfortable, we struggle to get them out of it in the morning :) I think any non caravan people would rush straight out and buy a van after watching your videos, you portray caravan life so beautifully, and show why we love it so much 😊
Great caravan, what more do you really need for 2 people and pooch? Coachman was a wise choice, I think. I want one! A very special camp site in a very restful location too.
Our hols centre around camping but now the kids have kids of their own and we are not as agile as we once were, we are considering a caravan. We want a side dinette as it allows me to make breakfast as the wife likes a lie in, and we don't have to put the bed away as soon as we're up! A double dinette would allow guests to stay for a night or two. We had a late 90's Swift Challenger 480 about six years ago but many things didn't work such as the loo, shower and the hot water; the awning got damaged in a storm one night too, so sold it after a year but it did get us into a need for a better one!
Sounds like you know exactly what you want, layout is everything in our opinion. It's got to be right for the individual way in which you live. Hope you manage to get what you want. Thanks so much for watching and leaving us a comment 👍 all the best
Just found your channel, really enjoying the videos. Just a small recommendation, in the awning close off the blue valves. This is just in case one of the tubes gets a leak/puncture then the whole awning will not deflate. Happy caravanning
Just found your channel as we’ve just bought our very first caravan too😃great video and info, look forward to seeing you and your adventures and your gorgeous fur baby!
Hi there, great video for beginners. Wish I’d watched this a year ago when we got ours. Nice little van and what a lovely site! My wife and I watched your video last night and we’d had Goffsland Farm on our ‘maybe’ list - well, based on your great sales pitch, it’s moved into the ‘must visit’ league now. I’m still attempting to complete a video of our trip to the Isle of Wight…need more spare time for editing though. Keep up the good work! Subscribed!
Hey Christian, thanks so much, really appreciate that!! We're actually off to Goffsland Farm again this weekend and we're so looking forward to it! Hope you get to edit your video soon, let us know when it's ready 😁
OMG, we got our caravan from there, and for the same reasons. We wanted our dog with us, although ours is a youngster but a nervous dog so dont want her in the kennels. Chris was wonderful…. Great video, will look for others from you. Hope you made more…
Oh wow, that's amazing!!! Yes they're a great bunch down there aren't they? We're loving having our little caravan and Dozer loves it too. Hope you're getting well too. Maybe we'll see you out and about one day! Thanks so much for watching ❤️
Now following your videos. My husband and i are newbies and are awaiting delivery of our very compact 2 berth in April. Never towed before but im sure we will get along fine. There will be lots of set up mistakes im sure 😆. Happy caravanning. Sal & Bob.
Hey Sal & Bob, welcome to the caravan family, we hope you'll love it as much as we do!! And you'll be fine towing, takes a little getting used to but it's OK. Drop us a line when you get it and let us know how you get on 😊
New subscriber came across your vlog enjoyed watching. We also bought a caravan as we wouldn’t go away because of leaving our pet dog it’s the best thing we ever done we have had loads of breaks since 6 years down the line 😂 look for to your next video thanks for sharing 👏
Hey Liz, thanks so much for subscribing!! That's so great to hear, we love it so far and hope for lots more years of adventure like you!! Thanks again, all the best 😁
Superb. One thing I did notice when you have the oven on please lift the glass lid, as this can get very hot and also it can break cause of the heat from the oven..
I’m a newbie too, but I am temp. living full time in my 2 berth, very similar to yours, except you thrash me in “poshness”, 🤣, my van is 1998…..anyway, after about 2 months all is good, but I have no EHU, so it’s been difficult adjusting to having zero power, no fridge, lights, charging etc….but looking at a Solar kit etc….and hopefully getting use of a standpipe soon😅, it’s been very tough during the heatwave as I have two thirsty dogs.
Wow, yes can imagine how the heat way has been for you being off grid! That's hardy!! Solar is a great idea, we'd like to get a kit too. Good luck to you and your Doggos and thanls for your comment! All the best xx
hi , can you do a video how to set up the bed ? and what car you use? im trying to figure it out what is best a camper van or a caravan , just want some ideas thanks and have fun
Hey!!! So we have a Mazda 6 Estate, 2.2l turbo diesel. With a caravan you're looking for a car with the right weight match. There's lots of on line resources to help with that. We find a caravan great as we can pop out anywhere with the car and not have to pack everything away. We used to have a motorhome and we found it not as convenient. However, campervans and Motorhomes do offer more flexibility in terms of just going and sleeping almost anywhere. So it just depends what kind of travel you want to do. Next time we make a video, we'll show putting the bed out 😀 thanks for watching
Hi Mabel, thanks for watching and welcome to our channel 🙂 our awning is a Dometic Kampa Rally Air Pro 260. It's a great awning, nice and easy to put up. There's also a poled version too. We found ours on eBay for a huge saving. Good luck 😀
Hi from Australia, we just bought a Uk van similar to yours and are getting ready for our first trip when it isn’t so hot(no aircon yet). What is the name of your awning (we call them an annexe), I’m looking at getting one for our van but will have to get a Uk one to fit and love the look of yours.
Hey there! Oh that's great news! The awning is a Kampa Rally Pro Air. It's super easy to put up and take down, I wonder if you can find them there? Hope you have lots of adventures and make lots of memories 😀 Thanks for watching, all the best
We have also just bought a caravan very similar to yours. We are waiting for our air awning to be delivered hopefully will get it in October how are finding yours. We also bought a caravan because of our dog lol
The things we do for our dogs huh? 😅 Glad you took the plunge too! We love our air awning, managed to find it on Ebay in really good condition. Its dead easy to put up and take down, ever for just a short 2 night trip its still worth it. We hope you have as much fun as we are in our little van!!thanks for watching, we appreciate it👍🏼🙂
Just discovered your channel loved your new caravan. We have had motorhome and caravan in the past and thinking of buying one again I think you might have persuaded us lol. Must ask what is the sight you was on loved it our type of site brilliant
Hey Angela, thanks for watching, ooh we really hope we persuaded you haha, that would be awesome! Isn't the site gorgeous? It's a place called Goffsland Farm in West Sussex, a lovely little Caravan Club CL. We're back there in a couple of weeks too! Thanks again and all the best x
Hi from us, we are looking for a small lightweight van and we've watched some of your videos we're wondering how you found the kitchen? Is it usable for two people? Thanks in advance.
Hi Tracey, thanls for reaching out. So the kitchen is fine in terms of storage, cooking space etc. We sometimes use the surface above the fridge adjacent to prepare food for cooking. I wouldn't say its easy for two people to work in the kitchen at the same time but that's OK for us. Having a full oven Grill and hob is amazing. All in all, we've never really wished we had more kitchen space. For us, a larger bathroom would be great. Hope that helps 🙂 thanks for watching ❤️
Great video! I have some question. i am planning to travel in USA by caravan. As a Korean, i have some fears about traveling to the USA and i don’t know much about your country. Do you have gun while your travel? what do i need for safe travel?
Thanks for watching! Although I can't help much I'm afraid, we're in the UK not USA. But we have travelled a lot in the USA and always felt safe. Good luck with your travels
Thankyou guys , just been watching some older videos of yours and came across this video with the awning . Newbies back in September with a 2 berth Swift Challenger looking forward to the new season and good luck with the new van looks awesome . Mark and Sue .
Actually we have him on a tie out stake which has a radius no bigger than our pitch at all times when he's outside, you can see it clearly in the shots. At the end, he was lying in the awning, again on his tie out. We're responsible dog owners and always obey the rules of each site.
Hi guys, Just wanted to say a huge thanks for your continued great content. We've (us two and our Lurcher Lab cross Tess) just embarked on a year long tour of the UK in a second-hand caravan after selling our little Alehouse in sussex. During all our deliberation, your videos really helped us with loads of questions we had, we even bought ours from Erin @sussexcaravans too as your experience sounded so positive 👍🏻 Anyways, thanks a bunch and lookig forward to seeing more! Ps; Concierge Camping was pretty darn good, great recommendation 👍🏻 Mike, Jo & Tess x
Hey Mike, Jo & Tess! Thanks so much for this lovely message!! Wow a year long tour of the UK sounds incredible!! How you all have an amazing time. @@MacSarah yes, he bought it new in 2008, sadly Isabel’s mum passed away 6 months after they bought it, so she only got out in it once. Her dad carried on on his own for years afterwards until quite recently. Our children use it as a bedroom when we visit. It’s so comfortable, we struggle to get them out of it in the morning :)
I think any non caravan people would rush straight out and buy a van after watching your videos, you portray caravan life so beautifully, and show why we love it so much 😊
@@alexrankin2235 thanks so much, that's really kind of you to say.
Great caravan, what more do you really need for 2 people and pooch? Coachman was a wise choice, I think. I want one! A very special camp site in a very restful location too.
Aww thanks, we love our little van ❤️ and we're off back to the same site this coming weekend too 😀 thanks for watching
Hey Guys, good to see you out and about.
Great to see Dozer as well
Ah thanks Al, much appreciated!! Thanks for watching and hope all is well with you! 👍🏼
@@MacSarah All good thanks
Love your video, we bought our caravan last year, similar reason our dog is 13, and we call want to go away together.
Hi Ray thanks for watching! Oh so we are in similar situations! We hope you love it as much as we do, happy Caravanning 😀
Just found your channel, really enjoying the videos. Just a small recommendation, in the awning close off the blue valves. This is just in case one of the tubes gets a leak/puncture then the whole awning will not deflate. Happy caravanning
Hey Steve, thanks for stopping by, much appreciated! And thanks for that tip, I'll definitely do that when we put it up next weekend!!
Dan Trudgion sent us here! Merry Christmas from Australia
Oh wow, hello down under! Thanks so much for dropping by, so great to have you along. Merry Christmas 🎄
Just found your channel as we’ve just bought our very first caravan too😃great video and info, look forward to seeing you and your adventures and your gorgeous fur baby!
Aww thanks Gaynor, so glad you found us!! And happy Caravanning to you, we're loving it so far, hope you do too 😀
Had a Compass Corona very similar layout but my wife hated doing the bed so traded it in for a dealer special Swift Sprite 4 with a fixed bed
Ah that's exactly what we've just done, have you seen our latest few videos? Thanks for watching
@@MacSarah I am a dope I have watched the video and left a comment. I need stop watching caravaning videos lol
Lovely vid guy's! Just subbed! 😊👌
Thanks Paul, we appreciate it 👍🏼
Now following your videos.
Hi Gordon, thanks for watching! And that is a great important tip, that you very much!!! All the best
amazing video1 new subscriber!!
Ah thanks so much!!!
Hi we are new to your channel and we love your videos. What make is your awning, please as we are after something similar x
Hi Mabel, thanks for watching and welcome to our channel 🙂 our awning is a Dometic Kampa Rally Air Pro 260. It's a great awning, nice and easy to put up. There's also a poled version too. We found ours on eBay for a huge saving. Good luck 😀
I bought mine to take my dogs with me too. My boy is 13 too.
Awww bless! Does you boy love relaxing and people watching as much as Dozer does?
@@MacSarah neither of my dogs relax very much. They are up barking at people lol
Hope you have lots of adventures and make lots of memories 😀
Thanks for watching, all the best
Thank you that's really useful. We won't be using the kitchen together haha@@MacSarah
@@MacSarah Thanks for your comment. I want to travel in the UK someday. Have a nice day~
Hi
Hey 😀
What make was your awning
It's a Kampa Rally Pro Air. It's been a great awning for us
Thankyou guys , just been watching some older videos of yours and came across this video with the awning .
Newbies back in September with a 2 berth Swift Challenger looking forward to the new season and good luck with the new van looks awesome .
Mark and Sue .
What is the mtplm
Hi Paul, it's 1235kg with a MIRO of 1107kg
@MacSarah sadly it wold be to heavy for me to tow am limited to 1200kg but very nice caravan
@@paul-fk7de I've definitely seen vans that would match your weight needs. Thanks, we love our little van
Get a waste master for grey water. You have more capacity and can bungee your toilet cassette on to it. Genius.
Thanks for watching and the tip 🙂
Most campsites expect dogs no matter how old to be on a lead at all times! You obv left him outside, unattended & not on a lead
Actually we have him on a tie out stake which has a radius no bigger than our pitch at all times when he's outside, you can see it clearly in the shots. At the end, he was lying in the awning, again on his tie out. We're responsible dog owners and always obey the rules of each site.
Hi guys,
Just wanted to say a huge thanks for your continued great content.
We've (us two and our Lurcher Lab cross Tess) just embarked on a year long tour of the UK in a second-hand caravan after selling our little Alehouse in sussex.
During all our deliberation, your videos really helped us with loads of questions we had, we even bought ours from Erin @sussexcaravans too as your experience sounded so positive 👍🏻
Anyways, thanks a bunch and lookig forward to seeing more!
Ps; Concierge Camping was pretty darn good, great recommendation 👍🏻
Mike, Jo & Tess x
Hey Mike, Jo & Tess! Thanks so much for this lovely message!!
Wow a year long tour of the UK sounds incredible!! How you all have an amazing time. It's wonderful to hear that you bought your van from Erin!!! We've always had such excellent service from Sussex Caravans.
Have an absolutely eic trip, we'd love to hear about it sometime!
All the best
