in my middle grade story the girls has a secret she doesn't want to tell Johnny but know she will have to the reader gets hints of what it is hidden from them till Johnny learns about it it's the plot twist but it is kind of a sub plot it is relevant to the story and played a big role in it
I like the hunger games when the first movie came out i watched it then got the audio books from the library i skipped to the last book and still know the ending long before it i happened as soon as she said she wanted to execute snow i know the rest i cant remember if i guessed about the sister's death not sure if it was obvious to others or am i just that good it wasn't the first time i guessed parts of books or movies long before it happened
I'm not sure if i will make it to this Monday evening writing it's my mom Birthday we probably will do something special this weekend but just in case i wanted to let you know i didn't want you guys to think i forgot you
Serialized storytelling sort of turned me off on subplots. I say that if your subplot does not connect with the main plot, then don't do it. In fact, some of the greatest novels of all time did not a subplot H. G. Wells' "The Time Machine" and "Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption". Well, the main plot is Andy adjusting to prison life and keeping his dignity, but a related plot is the warden's corruption and Andy cooking the books. I take back what I said about King's Masterpiece. If you want to do subplots, I think that aforementioned novella is a good example of how to wave your subplot to your main plot.
Thank you for commenting. If the subplot is just filler, then I say don't use it. But a well-crafted and interwoven subplot can add so much to a story.
@@DaveandAngieSmuin True. I blame watching soap operas with babysitters and a caretaker I had when I was recovering from surgery as to why I shy away from subplots. My mind is so chaotic that I feel like I really have to spend time on one plot per story. But that's just me.
What kind of subplot will you use in your story?

Yes. Many subplots and plot twists I can see coming. I love it when I watch a movie or read a book, and I don't see it coming.

Happy Birthday to your mom! Celebrate big! She deserves it. We will miss you but totally understand.
