So many of the channels start out with beginner shows, and once they have moved forward, they stay at the intermediate and/or advance levels. It is good to see a seasoned person provider beginner shows, that way you aren’t sharing what you are learning at the same time, including mistakes. So, yes, please keep the beginner segments.
It would also be pretty interesting to see what an intermediate/advanced approach to this project would look like (i.e. what do you gain in efficiency and finish with fancy tools and techniques)
@@pope52 Even just goin to Pocket holes, it would be a lot faster. But I don’t think this is what he is going for. He even says in the video it could be easily done with pocket holes, but he didn’t want to teach assembly, he wanted to teach aspects of woodworking so he wanted to use dowels.
Your teaching ability has always come across in your videos, and it's even more apparent when you have a student. Truly fantastic, and always a joy to watch!
Brilliant! Aside for the amusement and relaxed feel to things, as a ‘barely at beginner status’ person, I found the question in my mind were asked and answered. Absolutely made me feel educated without any condescension or frustration. I do hope you two do more videos like these!
... love the family content. Sometimes you just have to try something different, maybe a little silly but in the end, practical and entertaining. Nice job working with your wife in the shop while teaching basic practical skills. We need more of this!
A different vibe, yes, but a welcome one once I understood how it would be different. I think this is great. I like to watch videos with my 7- year-old, and this is simple enough and family friendly that he can understand it-- even if he may not want to make a blanket rack. Thank y'all.
My wife heard y’all from the other room and came in to watch. As soon as she saw what was going on, she said “He better not make Nicole cry.” We really enjoyed the video, thanks for doing it.
I would definitely enjoy seeing more projects with the two of you. I appreciate the challenge of juggling time with the family. It’s really good to see a simple project and encourages me to get back into woodwork after a 9 year gap.
Great video! So many goooood tips. Thank you Nicole & Marc Disposal of paper towel with Oil finish: Take an empty 5 gals (plastic or steel), add 4-5" of watter and submerge the paper towel.
I made one of these for my wife as one of my first projects a long time ago! This video would have helped me quite a bit back then figuring out the angles. Watching it now that I'm more experienced makes me want to try and get my wife out in the shop
Very enjoyable. Marc's patience was awesome, not that there really was a need to be. His teaching ability was great as well. The format, a novice learning from a pro and asking real questions, is something that there needs to be more of.
Love it! My favorite part is when Nicole says "We're almost done!" @ 24 minutes in - about halfway through the video. My wife says the same thing with my projects, at about the same point. Then when I'm doing the tedious sanding, edge treatment, finishing, she keeps asking "what are you even doing? You were pretty much done a few days ago!" lol.
This was great. I like you didn't skip any steps or make any assumptions of knowledge. I can see this being extremely helpful to a new woodworker. I always find no matter my level I have something I can learn or detail I can find more clarity on from even basic training. This was no exception. Thanks for sharing as always.
If it were me, knowing that a camera’s rolling the whole time, and anything could be admissible in an outtake or a court of law, would keep me and my better half in check. 😁
WONDERFUL video! Marc, your teaching ability really showed, and Nicole, you asked the perfect questions (including jumping ahead of Marc in places). Looking forward to more!
Hey Marc and Nicole, My wife will love this video and that the whole family was involved! I might be able to get a new tool with this video :) Love all your content, thanks for all your work into making this channel. It is hands down my favorite channel on the UA-cams.
I loved this! More, more. Loved the humor, the instructions, everything. We had a quilt rack a lot of years ago, but the wife didn't like the look of it. I think she will like this one. I can see us working together on this. Gonna give it a try at least.
Marc and Nicole, well done. Even though I've been woodworking for about 5 years now, I still found this video very educational and simply wonderful to watch. I actually felt as though I was there with you learning from you directly. Thank you for putting in so much effort. I know how hard these kinds of videos are to produce, but I do hope you make more of them.
Well done! Enjoyed watching y'all make this together. Another option for the hole is to cut two decorative pieces or initials on the scroll saw, then cover the hole with one and put the matching one on the other side of the ladder.
Just discovered this video and I hope you make more like this. I am older but still very new to serious woodworking and need all of the instruction that I can get!
Excellent video. Very well produced. The concept and the execution very well done. I like the idea. I think even experienced woodworkers will get something out of it. I know I did. It would be interesting if you could get someone else (not related) to try one of these with. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay healthy.
You're a lucky man, Marc. I wish I could get my wife interested in working with me in the shop. We get along doing projects for the yard and the house so I can't imagine that the shop would be any different. I would like to see you all do more projects together, maybe I could convince my wife to join me then.
I really enjoyed this video. As a just beyond beginner I found little details that maybe I skipped over or needed a refresher on and this was a fun way to get them. Keep up the good work and I'd love to see more in this series.
It is even nice to a hobbyist like me, because I found myself in a position to teach that basic stuff to friends and family, and this gives me a go to and a way to explain :) I would love mode details about simple techniques like how to handle a sander, how hard to push etc, and about measuring and marking. Excellent work you both :)
Way to go Nicole ! I assume we can expect a video of “Spags McDomino” sewing a quilt ? Lol Marc since you’re a hybrid woodworker I “hybided” together two of the best nicknames from wood talk ;)
for scraping the wet glue away from corners such as 41:27 , a drinking straw works great. it will push into the edge, and the wet glue goes into the straw greatly minimizing the cleanup
Why so big? I always enjoy your videos and the, let’s call it “The Morning Show”. I don’t consider myself an amateur but did pick up a few points. Great instructional video!
I've seen a lot of TWW-content through other channels or "the Algorithm".. but this is the one that earned you a new sub! Unknowingly this answered so many hidden questions and puts some great context on why many tricks of the trade came to be
19:04 Also, the drill bit heats up and that makes the adhesive on your blue tape slippery so it takes considerably less to push the tape up the drill bit. The chips that are transported out of the hole by the flutes will often be enough to move the tape when the heat sets in.
Oh my gosh that was a riot. Please do more. I certainly want the traditional WW content, but these are a riot to watch. I will commit to watch them all SOLELY for how many things can Nicole put unnecessary holes into. #unplanneddoghole Thank you!
Great video! I liked the fresh beginner perspective. As someone who is probably between beginner and intermediate it was nice to get a jog to the memory on some of the basics.

Yeah, we want more of that. Now Nicole has to teach Marc how to make a quilt.
Hahahahaha, yea good luck with that
That I wanna see!
Where can we petition this series to be called "Nicole Whisperer" ;) Cannot wait to see more of these videos.
It seems to me Mark is (The Nicole whisperer).
This is a good idea. Need more Marc and Nicole!
I love seeing videos like this. Showing beginners that you don't need hundreds of dollars of power tools to enjoy woodworking is GREAT. Thank you
Yes more of these please! In depth for beginners 🙏🏼
With her! She asks great questions!
And I’ve always been subscribed but this is the 1st video that I actually 100% understood and half of it wasn’t in, like, a different language😂

More of this series , please! Nicole asks the questions the rest of us SHOULD ask.
Your teaching ability has always come across in your videos, and it's even more apparent when you have a student. Truly fantastic, and always a joy to watch!
Marc I watch a lot of your videos with mad respect as a woodworker. This, my friend, puts you over the top. Hope to see more of this.
Brilliant! Aside for the amusement and relaxed feel to things, as a ‘barely at beginner status’ person, I found the question in my mind were asked and answered. Absolutely made me feel educated without any condescension or frustration. I do hope you two do more videos like these!
This is great. this is the kind of video my wife could watch and learn from, to do a project while I'm working on my own stuff.
I loved when Nicole hummed the “connect the dots” tune from Peewee’s Play House. Highlight!!
... love the family content. Sometimes you just have to try something different, maybe a little silly but in the end, practical and entertaining. Nice job working with your wife in the shop while teaching basic practical skills. We need more of this!

As soon as she saw what was going on, she said “He better not make Nicole cry.”
We really enjoyed the video, thanks for doing it.
Please do more projects like this! This was great watching you guys work together.
Thanks for sharing the beginners projects. I am newish to woodworking and the tips and tricks are very helpful.
Great to see you doing videos for beginners again.....More, we need more.
I would definitely enjoy seeing more projects with the two of you. I appreciate the challenge of juggling time with the family. It’s really good to see a simple project and encourages me to get back into woodwork after a 9 year gap.

I'm amazed that how many things Marc has invented just in one video! True Einstein of our times.

Glad you enjoyed it!
I want a video of Marc quilting, now. P.S. I’m a hobby woodworker, and my wife is a quilter/seamstress. I have mad respect for her skills.
Same with me and my wife, I think what she does is witchcraft.
Marc's patience level as a teacher is off the charts. My wife would have been screaming at me within the first 10 mins. Probably divorced by the end.
If it were me, knowing that a camera’s rolling the whole time, and anything could be admissible in an outtake or a court of law, would keep me and my better half in check. 😁
Divorced? My wife would run me through the nearest wood chipper...
I think this was an awesome video! Love seeing husband and wife working together for anything! More to convince my wife!
WONDERFUL video! Marc, your teaching ability really showed, and Nicole, you asked the perfect questions (including jumping ahead of Marc in places). Looking forward to more!
Fantastic work you two! Got my girlfriend to watch this and she feels much more confident getting in with the tools! Thank you!
It was fun to watch. Let’s see more beginner videos
I made this same ladder with walnut. Turned out great and my wife loves it. Thanks for sharing this video and inspiring a build.

That really means a lot to us. Thanks so much!

How convenient. My wife just asked me to make a quilt ladder. I will be doing a riff on this. Thanks.
This was great, Nicole did great! I'm now thinking I might need to build a quilt ladder.
Marc and Nicole, well done. Even though I've been woodworking for about 5 years now, I still found this video very educational and simply wonderful to watch. Thanks Zunar! We hope so too :)

Just discovered this video and I hope you make more like this. I am older but still very new to serious woodworking and need all of the instruction that I can get!
Such fun! I've taught 5 former GFs how to ski, and your patience is magnitudes higher!
It’s lovely to see you work with your wife. I enjoy to do the same (not for a prolonged amount of time…lol). I’d love to see more videos like that.
Watched for the entertainment but actually learned a few things! Good stuff!
Really great. You managed to be respectful throughout Marc, well done.
Loved the outtakes. Thanks for all the content.

please do more of these. as a newer woodworker this was really helpful!
This could be the start of a great new series! Great work and thanks for using Rubio!
This made me so happy to see. I think this was my favorite show since your first few years .
Really liked the way you kept it real with your dialogue!!
Great job, Team Spag!
Thanks guys! ❤️
You nailed it right at the end Marc, I for one really want to see more videos like this one!
This turned out great! It's one thing to know how to do something, but altogether different to explain to someone how to do it.
I love the beginner stuff and it looks great . Now hitting my shop to make one for my wife.
You are an absolutely fantastic teacher! I love the vibe with you and your spouse! Would love more of this content.
You're a lucky man, Marc. I wish I could get my wife interested in working with me in the shop. Yes your right, we want more of that. This was a lot of fun to watch. Thank you both...
Loved it! So good to see it from a newbie perspective. Be great to see more!
This was a great video! So much fun to watch both of you together and the beginner tips will be helpful to many, many people!
Thoroughly enjoyed this video, hope you can do some more.
Thanks

I'd vote for more of this stuff. Really enjoyed the stuff at the end!
Great job, this was a great example of teaching for us to see.
I loved this! Please do more like this.
Love you guys working together. Hope we see more videos like this!
Way to go Nicole ! I assume we can expect a video of “Spags McDomino” sewing a quilt ? Lol Marc since you’re a hybrid woodworker I “hybided” together two of the best nicknames from wood talk ;)

I've been woodworking for several years. But I enjoyed the video. And I did order some - Rubio Monocoat.
Loved this, such good chemistry!
Watched the whole thing, including the outtakes. Great video guys! Very entertaining
This was awesome! PLS DO MOAR!!!
This is such a great video taking the time to explain everything. Nicole asks perfect questions.
I have never felt more seen than when Nicole goes right into the top... That is me at least once every project. Hahaha.
Great job Nicole! More of these please!
Yeah, we definitely want more of that!
The sound effects Nicole makes are also hilarious: all those whoops and boops 😂 🤣 she's a regular R2D2!
Great team work. This video was loads of fun!
I've seen a lot of TWW-content through other channels or "the Algorithm".. but this is the one that earned you a new sub!

I THINK THAT IS A GREAT IDEA. THANKS GUYS
Thumbs up.. Please Keep doing this sort of thing periodically.. thanks..
It's not a hole, it's a happy little accident. And every mistake deserves respect.
Love this video.
Awesome video - can't wait to see what 'newbie' Nicole builds next !!
"That thing's huge! Why's that so big?" I'm still laughing at the reply -- and impressed that you didn't miss a beat.... :)
So fun to see you two working together. And great content for beginners!
Very good video and good instructions.

Loved this. Very well done. Great way to see new ask questions and old handle the teaching.
Really delightful. Thanks!
Great video! Look forward to more!
Very clever subtle add of the "Stud Arrow"! I Lolled on that!
Love this, hope to see more of these
Oh my gosh that was a riot.
Great video guys, blooper reel is always worth adding 😆
Marc is a good teacher :)
Great Video!!! Quite the team effort! Thanks.
This was almost like old times, but even better! Btw, try using plastic drinking straws for glue clean up. They work great!
Definitely one of my favourite videos you've done.
Great series idea - look forward to more of em.
