the 180kw rating from factory is for the NA models, turbo territory had 240kw or 245kw depending on the year from factory, they also made FPV F6X versions which had 270kw from factory and was the fastest SUV in the world when it was built
@cronini1 look again, I said the Turbo S - early ones had 389kw and about 750nm ( and the AWD you mentioned about the Ford) I know how rapid the Turbo Territorys are, my wife has one but I stand by my statement it was never the fastest SUV in the world
Thats the ford falcon powertrain in that. Ford has been building it for years. The falcon is the holden rival in Australia. You gotta go see the ford falcon it's a beast.
This dude and his work shop used to work on my mates cars flat out, there was some awesome results and some not so. In the years past and the magnitude of the professionalism of the staff that have been employed over the last few years to become one of the most professional and exiting tuner workshops in my neck of the woods is an understatement, good luck to your business Stathi and im sooooo proud of Jade to become that JDM mech that he loves soo much
People think oh it’s just a Ford territory the soccer mom car But Oh No it is very different the Ford territory Turbo Is an absolute beast Barra the world❤️
Please please please come to the States for drag week . It would be cool to see the shock on some of the peoples faces when you fly by . Way to do something different .
I've got one as my daily. We love it. And its loves to go fast, have to keep an eye on the speedo or use cruise control. Great for overtaking (when no cops or cameras around) - gets up to 170 from 100km VERY quickly (instant lose of licence over here) - speedo says 240km but I havent done that yet (no roads long enough). So need to be careful when boosting in this beast. Even with a full load (7 seater). And they are 245kw (loses a lot before gets to the wheels) from factory, without mods. I also have the XR6 Turbo & the Terri is MUCH quicker but I love driving both. Oh and I'm in New Zealand.
+Vince Masuka, got any vids of it cruising the Autobahn? I'd love to bring my XR6 Turbo to Europe and road trip it one day, its been something to do on my bucket list for a while.
I love how smooth it runs (2:24) & that you have to do basically nothing to still go really quickly. I mean look at how it just vibrated a little when he went off the track.. :D almost looks better than an s class
That territory must be the close relative of the mustang the way the it cleared those two lanes into the dirt. Must have thought there was people there.
based_will one man's junk is another man's treasure . Japanese and Australian people would die to get corvettes and mustangs or even simpler cars like crown vics In my country “saudi arabia” we got everything from every market but we didn’t get a chevy ss or a 03-04 cobra which i lust for. Moral of the story trust me the us market is the best and then comes everything
Ford originally had plans to use the Falcon/Territory platform in America for the Mustang (a Falcon based Mustang, where have I heard that before...?) just like GM did with the Holden Commodore based Camaro and SS. The Falcon (FG) was supposed to be a revival hero car for the Mercury brand. But Ford chickened out. ....pussies.
Definitely love to see that in that states and while your there have a crack at the netflix fastest car series. At least this is actually looks like a sleeper
Mixed feelings about the ford territory. This car is a beautiful piece of work and rightly has many admirers. So much power. The Territory is a good family SUV that is comfortable and has lots of potential for performance (seen here). I've always been a ford person ... just more comfortable. Reliability is mixed. Perhaps the biggest flaw with the territory is the suspension. The front lower ball joint in under tension not compression and the various bushes wear and are a hassle to change. My weekend will be spent dealing with radius arm bushes (press out). Steering rack should be replaced (leaking seal). Shocks to be changed. In the rear , there's the 3 diff bushes, the trailing arm bush and a couple of other bushes. All of which require the rear suspension cradle to come out. Some might argue that this is to be expected and are consumables. I suggest that the design is both inspired and cynical. It certainly offered something different when released and sold well. But is was only a rebodied BA Falcon. I think the design was hurried. It is frustrating to own and enjoy (mostly) a design that is 80-90% there but has some irritating flaw. I also own 3 BMWK100s - great bike ... except they vibrate (can't be eliminated) at highway speed. Still, part of me just love the BM and my wife's f'ing Ford Territory...and my Holden Rodeo Best bet is to get the Barra motor and put it into something else.
I say kind of looks like the Forester. Ford's 2JZ, nice. I don't know why they didn't bring that engine to the states. Love the way it sounds. He's lucky he didn't flip it 👍. DSS says they make axles for anything
It's a long running joke going back to Fred being a little cringy *and you were fred and a lot of people called you out for it terrifying that poor guy... forshame* in interviews and the first time they added the new outro with Fred talking and cut off a fast pass mid track and fred's face came up I posted someone along the lines of *screams* ohh man Fred's face scared me.. or something similar. and they are getting better about it, or at least the editor is getting better at premier. And the guy in the outro with the beard is named Fred. Kyle is the owner cleetus aka garret is the marketing manager and there is 3-4 more guys doing camera, interviews etc might be 8-10 people total in the entire thing.
Kelly Bowen the hsv Colorado is the new one to the flock. And since holden dont make there own cars anymor now hsv is selling comaros with a hvs upgrades, its bad ass
Anything with a Barra is so silent, you think you've gapped it until you you take a look again n it's there 😂😂 usually make some weird vortex sound while on boost 😂😂
Oh man. I want to do something similar to my brother’s Escape and give it back to him (it was his first vehicle and I use it as my beater now). With a 2.7 Ecoboost obviously though, since we don’t have cool ass motors like the Barra in America.
Just a quick one these came out in different specs 182kw 190kw 240kw turbo 245kw turbo 270kw turbo (FPV) in this model it had an over boost of 10 seconds in every gear from factory. So closer to 300kw I’d say
When Ford gets their heads out of their asses and decide they want to build sedans again, they should go with these rear/awd platforms running the Barra 6 in the USA. This thing is a beast!
Like the Aussie 245 and 265 "Hemi" inline sixes - in 'stock' trim they were available with up to 302hp with OEM hotter cam', triple Webber carbies and performance exhaust. The modifiers are getting a bit over 400WHP out of them in NA form. Chrysler USA did the original design work but cancelled it until Chrysler AUS wanted it and took the engine over.
I'm a bit curious. what are those 4.0 xr6 turbo engines capable of from the factory? Since ive heard they have quite massive turbos from the factory i can only assume the 6 cyls are forged from the factory
This series - ua-cam.com/video/biEAPfH3_NM/v-deo.html - will give you a good idea what the engine is like from the factory, even though this starts off NA. The series then goes on to turbo it on a fairly low budget. This one - ua-cam.com/video/rWU6inaprvs/v-deo.html - shows what an unopened engine with outside work is capable of.
The stock blocks will do 1000hp. They come with forged pistons etc from the factory. They will do 400rwkw all day long unopened. They will do 330rwkw with the stock turbo as they come with a Garret Gt3582 from the factory. Same engine as the Ford Falcon
Crytekz I mean you can push a 2.5 to 600whp and 600ft pounds. Its been done many times you just need a big enough turbo and good tuning. And no shit ones a boxer 4cyl and the others an inline 6. If anything i6 motors are usually stout. Oem cummins parts can make 1200. International 360s are said to be able to take 120lbs of boost on stock headbolts. Bmw' n54 and n55 are strong. Nissan i6 are strong so are toyota motors
Yeah the offspring of a Ford Escape and a Subaru Forester with a little bit of Saab 9X thrown in there. But it has a smooth sounding power band though.

You think it was quicker than the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S which came out two years earlier??
@cronini1 look again, I said the Turbo S - early ones had 389kw and about 750nm ( and the AWD you mentioned about the Ford)
I know how rapid the Turbo Territorys are, my wife has one but I stand by my statement it was never the fastest SUV in the world
I thought 195 kw non turbo
Non turbo is 190kw
Barra the world
Looks like a Ford Freestyle had a baby with a Subaru Forester.
kill it with fire imo
i didnt like my own comment, sorry, but now i will
Wright Marshall it's bigger than a freestyle
It does a bit but these are larger vehicles.
vargo hoat don’t dis our Aussie cars boi
The Aussies love the I-6. I wish us Americans had the same enthusiasm!
Some of us love straight sixes! I never knew a vehicle like this one existed, it’s pretty awesome and good looking too.
We need turbo straight 6's in north america, damn you forddd
Thats the ford falcon powertrain in that. Ford has been building it for years. The falcon is the holden rival in Australia. You gotta go see the ford falcon it's a beast.
Yeltom Automotive I own a 1963 ford falcon futura here in the states
Tobias Ross youtube the 2012 ford falcon its mind blowing.
dude, the falcon is a taxi (but thats the best part! can be such sleepers if you want haha ;) ) pity aussie car manufs. have pulled the pin tho :/
I got the N/A Barra in both my utes. Tough motors.
its awd dude might be a bit different
This dude and his work shop used to work on my mates cars flat out, there was some awesome results and some not so. BARRA 4 LIFE
Those Territory's are beasts. A friend of a friend from Germany took one over and was chopping Porsche's on the Autobahn.
Too bad they killed the turbo off for the sz. Then there's the whole ball-joint and diff bush issues (for a start)... Great idea, wouldn't own one.
+Vince Masuka, got any vids of it cruising the Autobahn? I'd love to bring my XR6 Turbo to Europe and road trip it one day, its been something to do on my bucket list for a while.
tolgahk84 Unfortunately not, I have only heard the stories.
tolgahk84 If you ever do man make sure you record that shit.
Vince Masuka
Bull shit.....why lie
Man Ford should not only bring the Barra back but they should bring it to the states. That would be awesome.
My wife had exactly the same model and colour. Was a beast of a car. Minor tune and it smacked most things off the lights
Everyone says all the cool cars we never got are in Japan, I say theyre in Australia... Glad to have my GTO.
based_will one man's junk is another man's treasure . Japanese and Australian people would die to get corvettes and mustangs or even simpler cars like crown vics
In my country “saudi arabia” we got everything from every market but we didn’t get a chevy ss or a 03-04 cobra which i lust for.
Moral of the story trust me the us market is the best and then comes everything
All south east pacific country get these unique baby suv and all but we'd kind of have to kill ourselves first if we want to get a mustang vette
XxIBRAHIMxX11 we do get mustangs sold rhd here. We don't give a fuck about crown vics our commodores and falcons shit on crowns
Shame its not an aussie gto its its a monaro but very nice
you're wrong, Australians do get corvettes and mustangs. mustangs are even sold at Ford dealerships brand new.
God I love 1320 never clicked so fast in my life
Loving that inline 6 sound
Need those in America 😂
too late you guys killed them off and killed holden too!
ian vader I wish we never did.
Kris Singh that modle is about 12 years old to

look up the ford freestyle :)
I wish my mom had this car as a kid so going to soccer wouldn't be so awkward😂
So good to see our Aussie Fords getting shown to a broader audience! #barratheworld
Always looks like a epic storm in the background
Completely thought it was a forester from the thumbnail at first glance
Definitely love to see that in that states and while your there have a crack at the netflix fastest car series.
At least this is actually looks like a sleeper
Yes that would be nice to show more of what's going on overseas
1320 needs to see some real xr6 turbos over here in W.A perth we have some of thr fastest ones in Australia...
That thing is awesome and I thought my MKS was a sleeper. Never would have expected that thing to move like that.
spinning all 4 tyres but only has one hand on the wheel xD
now this is some real mom driving
Its like a ford escape on steroids lol...
Its kind of like a Ford Freestyle and Ford Edge mix with a badass motor.
Stanley Wrubel I was gonna say the same thing lol
It like a ford with a barra
They made a fpv version with over 400hp from factory
RIP Barra I6
I wish we had that engine in America D:
kurt bergstedt import
Would you sell me one lol

Egads.. I'm starting to like Fred again... Keep up the good work. You are not making me flinch as much.
They have cool names for cars down under. And some of the options they get from the factory is better than the ones we get here in the usa
Kelly Bowen the hsv Colorado is the new one to the flock. And since holden dont make there own cars anymor now hsv is selling comaros with a hvs upgrades, its bad ass
you say rhat, forgetting that we don't get any challengers/chargers, or shelby mustangs.
Captain Zoll well somebody's buying them because ive seen plenty of shelby mustangs and challengers in oz
you swing wildly if you burning out all 4 wheels for too long, noted....freaking beast lol. He went all the boost.
Well thats different!
Anything with a Barra is so silent, you think you've gapped it until you you take a look again n it's there 😂😂 usually make some weird vortex sound while on boost 😂😂
I love my Territory Turbo 😄👌
Definitely be interested in this for my next build
This makes me want to make my 2011 Ford Escape AWD into a sleeper.
same with my 10 bro
These are common over here, great sleeper car :)
2:38 Love his answer, he wasn't worried. When you know your build
I wish we had the barra
Imagine pulling up next to this on the freeway😆
Best racing channel
*drag racing
dont see many turbo Territorys any more, these were 245kw standard (329hp) FPV version was 270kw
You need to do more videos like this
Man I wish we got the barra over here!
fuckery abounds that Territory like an 2005 model and they made the barra turbo untill late 2017 and they wher alot better
#barratheworld
Interesting engine for such a modern vehicle...
Interesting how? They were putting barra engines in falcons and Territorys up until the end of last year.
whatyareckon because auto makers dropped the i6 for v6. I'm not australian
They still used the aussie straight 6 4L until 2017.
German automakers use the i6 motor still too...
They aren't used much anymore due to packaging reasons. A v6 is smaller.
Love the videos from Australia
Barra everything xD
ICBM="Intercontinental Bogan Missile"
Dude!!! Rockstar 🤟🫢
LMAO 😂😅💀🤙 brutal honesty, I just stayed on it! 😂
Jumped on here looking for a 5L Territory... but the Barra will do 🤗
Top car, love it, makes my 500 hp Falcon xr6 turbo look a bit lame lol
2:48 my right ear loved this
A friend has one. Stock apart from exhaust. It's quick for sure.
Oh man. I want to do something similar to my brother’s Escape and give it back to him (it was his first vehicle and I use it as my beater now). With a 2.7 Ecoboost obviously though, since we don’t have cool ass motors like the Barra in America.
They will not be late from school
God damn! The gods have touched the Barra.
After that second run I probably would have shitted myself getting in that thing
Looks like a Forester.
Runs like Forrest too
Look up Ford freestyle
A damn big Forrester.
Love Territories. 4 litre ones of course.
I would love to have a barra 4.0 turbo anything
Looks like if a subi forester and a ford escape had a baby this would be the look of it lol
its a manchild of a baby lol these are way bigger than either of those cars
Kyle at 1:25 min. ooh look at that R33 GTR..oh yea Im doing this now..pans back. haha
Sweet another fast solid object with wheels and money to support it
That looks like a UK subaru forester with a few other bits. But a beast all the same.
I live in Australia and my mums car is a Territory turbo in dark grey
Just a quick one these came out in different specs
182kw
190kw
240kw turbo
245kw turbo
270kw turbo (FPV) in this model it had an over boost of 10 seconds in every gear from factory. So closer to 300kw I’d say
This isn’t the FPV and it has a lot more power than 300kw
Daniel Broadbent yes I’m well aware of this, I was just letting our ova seas ppl know the difference in spec’s they came out in
You forgot the FGX XR6 Sprint which is 370kw
Watch the ford territory ad! So Australian... Plus should see the series 2 territory from 2010 to 2016
See, now if they made F150 ecoboosts with a STRAIGHT 6, I'd like it. These barra motors are the shit, it seems.
When Ford gets their heads out of their asses and decide they want to build sedans again, they should go with these rear/awd platforms running the Barra 6 in the USA. This thing is a beast!
Why cant we have this damn inline 6 here in the states ford?????
joe blow thay are cheep import
we don't even get them anymore in aus lol
a barra in the new mustang would be zesty
Like the Aussie 245 and 265 "Hemi" inline sixes - in 'stock' trim they were available with up to 302hp with OEM hotter cam', triple Webber carbies and performance exhaust. The modifiers are getting a bit over 400WHP out of them in NA form.
Chrysler USA did the original design work but cancelled it until Chrysler AUS wanted it and took the engine over.
Wow. I swear that thing looks like its gonna flip over
1320 has obviously never seen Street Machine’s Ford Territory project...
I have heard of one snapping a stock crank at something stupid like 50psi and the dyno saw 1500+rwhp when it let go
So, that's close to 2000hp at the crank (x7 -8 std), before it broke.
Not too shabby for a stock crank that was destined for a long life in a taxi.
The stock blocks will do 1000hp. They come with forged pistons etc from the factory. They will do 400rwkw all day long unopened. They will do 330rwkw with the stock turbo as they come with a Garret Gt3582 from the factory. Same engine as the Ford Falcon
The turbo version is 270kw standard. The N/A one is 197kw.
Its called the Escape in europe...2.0 4cyl and 3.0 v6 though
new camera equipment? those slow mo HD shots are niiiice
And here we thought forester xt's were badass with 500hp
Jared K foresters are nothing compared to territories
Crytekz well having riden in a 600hp stock bottom end Xt I'd guess its rather similar since boxer engines are so damn torquey
I have a FG Xr6 Turbo which made 520Rwkw (700ish rwhp) and 1110Rwnm (810rwft.lb) on a stock bottom end. It's a completely different power delivery.
But in saying that, they are very torquey engines.
Sick
This is hilariously awesome. Or awesomely hilarious. Either way. Some mixture of awesome and hilarious.
I like the new Ford Forester !
I might buy it
I'm actually working on my 2005 ford escape working towards a 10.5
"Woah Woah Woah, what the hell is this" haha
Sleepers forever!!! :)))
Never late for practice
The Ford Territory Vs Jeep Trackhawk!
This would destroy even a tuned Trackhawk. It’s a full 2 seconds faster than my ‘charged Jeep Srt
To think I went to school with him. Used to own a mad 13b gemini back in the day.
Yeah the offspring of a Ford Escape and a Subaru Forester with a little bit of Saab 9X thrown in there. But it has a smooth sounding power band though.
WoW there is hope for ma beast... #GOALS 😍😍😍
I can't believe you hopped in with him after he existed stage right!
I actually didn't know about that until after the pass, I hadn't been there for that hahahah
Amazing gangster
I wish i bought the Turbo model Territory....they jst sound fun 😂
I been thinking about putting the motor and drive train into a MKll Escort or XD ute.
Barra is King
