For us USA people who don’t want to google what is 13mm in metric?
Just installed it. It was not difficult. The video was very helpful and much better than printed instructions that came with it. It is overpriced compared to a comparable gun safe, but when my wife drives her Jeep the top and windows are always open. So she really wanted something like this. It is very sturdy and fits well. 4 threaded metal screws that thread into metal. The spacers did make it harder to install, and not sure of any value they bring. We used a 1/2" bit and it worked fine. Also the screws need to be applied with an Allen wrench, or the handled version. It is not a flat or Phillips head.
But it is installed, looks good, and she like it.
Thank you for watching! -Zach
Perfect AR-15 pistol box 👍🏻
The short spacers are for if you actually have the trail rail installed
Was thinking of getting this. I do feel like a determined person would be able to pop it open or even remove it off of the door itself. I guess it’s better than nothing, but I wouldn’t trust anything too valuable or irreplaceable in it. Am I wrong?
Will the freedom panels fit in the trunk with a 2 door JL?
It's a tight fit but they should be able to squeeze.
Why is this 30 lb of steel? Couldn't this achieve almost equal lightweight functionality in aluminum (or even heavy duty plastic)?
So a month ago you guys make a vid...now the website say you don't even sell this box anymore??
I noticed the same thing. I had it on my wishlist with ExtremeTerrain. When I went to order it, it was not available. Had to order it from Q. But at least I have the ET install video because the other company doesn’t have one.
I think if I got this I'd just take the plastic factory parts off instead of drilling them...
You could definitely do that if you wanted to! -Zach
$100 bucks would be a fair price.
I like it but 300, omg that's exspensive
