    Ingredients:
    all purpose flour 1/2 cup
    sugar 4 tbsp
    cooking oil 1/4 cup
    1 egg
    cocoa powder 2 tbsp
    baking powder 1 tsp
    milk 1/4 cup
    for mousse filling part:
    semisweet (Dark) chocolate 150g + whipping cream (hot) 60ml
    whipping cream (cold) 200ml + powdered sugar 2 tbsp
    on top : (not mention on video)
    200g dark chocolate + 120ml milk - melt in microwave for 30sec to 1 min, mix it well, let it cool down and pour on top (!!! make sure it is cold enough !!!)

    Tried it, everything was good, but after refrigerating the melted chocolate on top went hard like rock, it couldn’t even be sliced. So, that was a waste. I don’t noe wher i went wrong. Plz do reply.

      Komal Sharma i did not add cream to the chocolate, it was melted chocolate. So, i just added chocolate and a little butter.

    That chocolate mousse was split. Looked real grainy and wouldn't have been velvety smooth in the mouth as it should be.

    our apologies to all - ingredients process should be this way :
    Ingredients:

    Is it true that cake gets baked in 8 - 10 minutes at 160 C, normally it takes 40-45 mins to bake at 180c 🤔

    Many many years ago, about 35-36 to be exact. Pepperidge Farms use to sell chocolate mousse cake and I was somewhat(very🙄😒) addicted to them. For some reason or another they stopped selling them. I was crushed. I haven't had it since but I'm about to attempt this recipe. It's still my favorite cake even after all these years. Tyfs God bless you

    Made this yesterday for my parent’s anniversary! It was delicious, the cake obviously isn’t too sweet which is great because it balanced out the mousse, which I used milk chocolate instead of semisweet. Everyone loved it! Thanks for the recipe!!💗

    Thank you for that recipe I tried it yesterday and left overnight as you suggested, unfortunately when I wanted to taste it this morning I could hardly cut it as the melted dark chocolate I poured on the top of the cake at the end was very hard...whereas in the recipe when you cut it the knife seems to cut a soft part can you hel please as I would like to try it one more time thanks a lots!

      when i saw the recipe i also think that the latest layer cannot as soft as the video because its melted dark chocolate, when u put it in the fridge, it will be hard as it has not been melted. I think we should do like mousse layer with more cacao power 🤨

    Based on the size of the cake ring being 18 cm(7 inches) and it's smaller than the bake form, the form should be around 20 cm(8 inches)

    I tried it and the taste was Devine! But my mousse looked different. The mousse layer and the chocolate topping were much thinner.

      the baking pan matters, the recipe she baked hers in an 8in pan, bake yours in a 7 in. pan and you will get a thicker cake and the filling will be thicker in height too, or double the recipe and bake it in a 10in pan for thicker cakes

    I made this tonight. Turned out great. The only thing that messed me up and caused me pause through the video was the grams and ml. Would be nice to get the option of cups instead of grams and ml. In the end I figured it out haha. I put chocolate dipped strawberries on top.

      Unfortunately not. One can halve a cake recipe but not double it. Best to use the tin size suggested

    The top cannot be just melted chocolate. It becomes really hard when set and does not behave like that.

    I like this cake because not complicated and not expensive to make, but I upgraded it on the edges because it is not nice decorated all around and stays rough and not nice!!! So I put all around chocolate needles with & black. The result is stunning

      it depends on what you’re measuring, 1 cup of all purpose flour weighs 120-130 grams

    Tried your Chocolate mousse cake recipe and it all looked perfect but the Chocolate sauce was not runny like your .so did you add cream to it .and it hardened after removing it from the fridge .pls guide

      It's best to make a choc ganache (mixture of choc & cream) as using just choc it will set hard once it's been in the fridge.

      @@flymehome31 actually no, I haven't tried it. I'm going to create my own version of this as the cake looked dry. I often make ganache for cakes & it's much nicer 👌
