This argument is largely nonsensical and never works. You can't expect every modern installment of a licensed game to just have all the characters (even the starter ones) in the base roster every single time. These franchises have way too many existent-established characters for that, AND the combat would never be satisfying enough when catering to roster size. Games can only... come close... to that with long development cycles and/or DLC support.
That said, Kurenai specifically I think should be a free character, because of how much of an OG she is, not being in the base roster, and taking this long to become playable in a Storm entry. It shouldn't have taken a fairly important main character this long, so the fact that it did should translate into being a freebie if not on base roster.
@@windy3935 The point of my comment was not to insinuate that ALL characters should be in the games all the time. I understand the difficulty of game development, time, money etc. ( heck, I was riled up when Gekitou Ninja Taisen 4 didin't do justice to the Sound Four, but I got why it was like that ). I meant that a character like her should NOT take up a slot in a Season Pass DLC. And well, she is still an OG, participated in an important battle in the franchise and should have been represented in a better way a LONG time ago. Putting her in a DLC slot in a game where she has no impact, and that the context is basically just " do a fight with her, watch the combo with Asuma and turn the game off ", is, well, a waste.
It's like Smash Bros Ultimate all over again. Waste of DLC slots for characters who should NOT be there. And that's not even a personal opinion or something, I beleive it's a fact that when regarding this kind of stuff, it needs to MATTER more.

The most important to remember is the actress and voice director who does the English voice. Mary Elizabeth McGlynn was doing everything in her power to get the best product possible out of the voice actors in OG and Shippuden. She knew exactly what she was doing and I loved her dedication. Wish Kurenai had more screen time 😭 But yeah, excited to play her!

Ummm actually , no! Only people that have sharingan eyes and are well trained in using them can get past her genjutsu , because they have special sight. The rinegan would also probably work. The byakugan would not help against the genjutsu , it would only show where the real kurenai is . People that have no special eyes would have a very hard time against her , since she is stated to be one of the strongest genjutsu users in Naruto
The only person to get pass her genjutsu was itachi, and he arguably the best genjutsu user in the series
