How to perform a scratch test to check adhesion

In this video i take you through the process of a scratch test. Using a scratch test tool i do a 'crosshatch' pattern and then place masking tape over the top. After a few minutes i then quickly rip the tape off to see if any of the paint comes off the panel.

What does it mean if the scratch test fails but if you try to scratch with your nail it’s very hard to do?

Usually if the scratch test fails then we need to look at how to improve it regardless of using different ways of peeling. Thanks!
