So glad to see Holly Hunter!!! Great actress with such great talent!!!
He was surely one of my favorites!! His voice, his no nonsense characters, so talented!! God rest him🙏🏽🙏🏽
Great plot twist at end of Broadcast News
ADORE Holly Hunter- the opposite of cookie cutter- her own unique voice, unique beauty and uniquely superb acting skills!!!!
Same here. She's been one of my favorites for years. And, she doesn't do social media, like Instagram, etc. I adore her, even more!
Sorry, but after what I heard how abusive he was the women, I felt disgusted. Why do we have to hold these people to such high esteem. They are only friggin' actors, some good, some great, but they are not super human and they don't deserve to be idolized.
If William Hurt ever played an Evil King,
I’m sure he would ask “Why are you here? Is that it?”
Love her so much!
@@annegreenstien1336 yeah he was a dbag
I loved William Hurt. His work in Changing Lanes inspired me so much to get sober and stop using heroin.
Hope you're not an abuser like he was!
Congratulations!
@@susanshew2373 he wasn't an abuser take your metoo cancel culture BS crybaby gossip elsewhere
@@susanshew2373 I'm sure this poor man isn't all addicts aren't alike he abused another addict keep in mind.. ✌
Great together in Broadcast News. So was Albert Brooks. See it if you haven't!
One of my all time fave comedies..or rom-cims..whichever.
Brilliant movie!
10/10 it really is a perfect movie
I was recommending it to a young co-worker, recently.
Holly should have gotten an Oscar for Broadcast News imo.
I agree, she's fantastic in it. Cher's performance in Moonstruck bordered on caricature.
Super agree!!!
I still remember Holly Hunter staring at me at Washington Square Park years ago has I looked into the dog run thinking of my dog that passed, I turned and she was standing there staring at me and she said hi, she was studying me. I never forget that
Holly is a delight and Bill Hurt will never be forgotten, Both just incredible talents.
Terrific actor, obviously very troubled individual who turned his wrath on some of his girlfriends, punching them and emotionally abusing them. Marlee Matlin who was with him involved with him for years and starred in Children of a Lesser God, had only a very curt and polite "We lost a great actor" Somehow Hurt managed to skate right past the whole "Me Too" movement and never got mentioned until after he was dead.
And certainly didn’t feel the need to write a book regarding him raping her 20 yrs later!
HE will NOT be remembered as a decent "man".
@@oneseeker2 I disagree.
William Hurt......at least three women that I know of........punches, bruises on Matlin for months, emotional and verbal abuse, etc. Anyone who doubts this should look it up.@@oneseeker2
Also grieving the loss of William Hurt 😢💔 - love Holly Hunter ❤
RIP William Hurt. I can't believe he passed away. What a superb actor!!!
William Hurt was a really nice Guy. The Actor,Himself..He was just doing his job.
such an incredibly unique, thoughtful, beautiful woman who is an actress with a craft, not a celebrity
My favorite William Hurt movies were The Big Chill and The Accidental Tourist. Holly was wonderful in The Piano and Raising Arizona.
Hurt did so many great movies especially in the 80's and 90's. Broadcast News, Children of a Lesser God, Accidental Tourist, The Doctor and Body Heat are some of the best movies ever made.
I agree with you. I love The Doctor and Accidental Tourist. I saw a movie this summer called The King's Daughter with Pierce Brosnon and William Hurt. Not a great movie but I did enjoy seeing William Hurt in this movie. RIP.
What about RAISING ARIZONA?
@@clarewelter2207 I plan on watching The King's Daughter just because it's his last movie.
@@clarewelter2207 Kiss of the Spider woman won him a much deserved Oscar
@@KindCountsDeb3773 Thank you Deborah. I have never seen it but I will be watching it.
I have heard wonderful things about it.
I adore her so much…💛. I fell in love with her in Raising Arizona but REALLY REALLY fell in LOVE with her in Always-one of my favorite movies ever.
I liked her in Once Around and Saving Grace as well.
Always is one of my all time favourite movie.
Always. Omg. One of my favorites films. I cry so much watching that!
@@merrybluegirl8930 Theater seat surrounded by sodden Kleenex! I mean b u c k e t s! I believe that movie opened me to understand in the core of my being the deep loss of true love. Cannot watch it to this day. But gosh ... I wish I could!
@@catheriam1945 Yes. It is sooooo emotional for me too. It breaks my heart how much she misses him.
Why do we need 3 people there to interview Holly? Poor set up. She’s a great actress. I loved the movie The Pisno.
- and topic wise also a mess, slipping in the death of William Hurt for 20 seconds at the end... "and let's wrap up" - guess the real stars of the shows are the panel, and the guests just fodder for having them talk! 😲
Strange times.
I hate how the morning shows have multi-interviewers for one guest. Would be better to rotate the interviewers and let ONE person interview the guest.
I was wondering that as well..
She was so great in the Piano and Always.
My favorite was Raising Arizona by the Coen Brothers with Nick Cage and Francis McDormand.
Holly was also in the movie Always with Richard Dreyfus. Great movie.
I love love love her!!!! I adored her in "Always". One of the best romantic movies I have ever seen!
Huh, I've never heard of it. Going to check it out.
@@juliegill9322 OMG you will love it!!!!!!!
💯 top not heard of movie!💕
Holly, Charles Durning (WWII hero), and RDJ in “Home for the Holidays” the BEST 😁
@@ariellesoullighting4309 watch it, you will love it!
She's such a sweetheart. Always loved her. And she and William Hurt were so good in that movie "Broadcast News".
Love this woman, The Piano was wonderful, but I absolutely loved her in the tv series Saving Grace.................Donna in Toronto
I adored that show! Thank you for reminding me of it!
RAISING ARIZONA WAS HILARIOUS, ONCE AROUND, ALWAYS, AND HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS WERE ALL GREAT BECAUSE OF HOLLY ❤️🙌🥰
No one's mentioned The Firm.... Great character actor!
one of my favorite movies ever is a little film she did with danny devito and queen latifah called "living out loud, " directed by richard lagravenese. 1998, i think.
That's a great movie!
Love that movie and the soundtrack!
Oh yeah, that one, and Home for the Holidays...
I have always loved miss hunter. 💕💕💕r.i.p. W.H
RIP William Hurt. Kiss of the Spider Woman Was One of His Best Movies. Remember Holly Hunter in "Gathering of Old Men" from 1989.
I’m a native of Atlanta, Georgia. Decades ago the local station interviewed her brother. Holly and her family are from Conyers, Georgia. Holly’s brother sounds EXACTLY like her. I remember laughing out loud in delight!
☀After all these years...She's still beautiful...☀
Looks good at 64.

Absolutely! ❤️

Born: March 20, 1958 (age 64 years), Conyers, GA
Holly, you are the best. Thank you and folks at TODAY.., for remembering the amazing William Hurt.
Good for her, no social media & she does not let snoopy tv anchors get into her personal life. love it 💕💕💕💕
She had so many great acting roles but because my children grew up with this particular movie I will always think of her as the voice of Helen Parr a.k.a. Elastigirl from the Incredibles.
Love Holly Hunter!! She looks fantastic, and happy birthday to her!
HH class act, funny, gorgeous, fantastic actress. ♡♡
I moved to New Zealand (from the USA) in 1992 largely due to the music scene, and in general sensing there was a mini-burst of artistic creativity going on way down at the bottom of the Pacific. It further drew me to a west coast beach called Kare Kare where not only was The Piano made, but some of the cast took up residence there in a remarkable cliffside house owned by a bloke named Nigel Horrocks who became well, sort of a mate for several years, and also where my musical choice of the time, Crowded House, made their Together Alone album. Such great memories "in a valley lit by the moon". Kare Kare has both inspiring rugged energy and deathly menace (Eddie Vetter nearly drowned there swimming with Tim Finn). I remember Nigel phoning me and saying "Pearl Jam are jamming in my house!" Nigel also had all these photos of some guy called Harvey Keitel. Brush with greatness. LOL.
That's a really cool story! Thanks for sharing it with us. 😁
Oh nooo..He was one of my fav.s. That scene lifting her to the rock wall was great.
AccidentalbTOURIST IS 1 OF MY FAV.BOOKS And movies.
..." felt safe with Bill". Tremendous accolade!
VERY poor title for this clip! She doesn't open up at all about grieving. She shares a memory that's all.
Clickbait title to get people to watch.
and not about how she felt about him, except in a professional way.
Hunter & Hurt I’ve followed their Work since the beginning.Their greatest legacy showing, all of our best humanity.
I loved William Hurt as a kid at the 80's....He was my big crush until i was an adult..his voice was something else...so sad he left so early! RIP love of my younger years!
Loved Mr Hurt, his acting was superb. Holly, same comment. I miss her show "saving grace", wish it lasted longer. RIP Mr Hurt.
Saving grace❤❤❤
I love holly hunter and William Hurt was also such a great actor! Rest in peace Mr. Hurt and God bless you!
The piano! I have never watched it straight through. That's my next movie stream.
Shout out to Holly. Thanks for give a voice of elastigirl twice. As a superhero fan, can we get the incredibles 3 very soon? In my mind, the kids are almost grown up, different new suits, and of course the inspiration life of Marvel? I said that last year by the way because that would be AWESOME and AMAZING!!! and of course I think that this would made her a queen. I can't wait.
God bless you all and hope that you are doing great
She was also soo funny and such a character in The Firm.
I still love that movie and watch it once a year. Gary Busey was also a riot in it.
I loved you in Saving Grace. Simply amazing actress.
God bless a good story, The Piano is fascinating with great cinematography.
Always is one of my favorite movies with her.
Holly has always been a cute little sweetheart. She cracked me up in Oh Brother Where Art Thou talking about the Wharvey Gals. William Hurt did some great movies mostly in the 80s, but more recently he was fantastic in Mr. Brooks.
Very underrated as an Actor
she doesn't do Hollywood like a celeb. And is very private.
RIP William Hurt ❤❤❤❤
Big fan love u Holly ❤️.
Miss your show Saving Grace. Best show ever.
The Piano is one my top 5 favorite movies ever.
One of the best.
RIP William Hurt. ❤😢
William Hurt, they don't make them like that anymore. Thanks for the great performances. RiP William.
I adored her in "Home for The Holidays" or whatever it was called. (Steve Guttenberg, etc.)
I love Holly Hunter William Hurt was a great actor 💙♥️
It pains me to read that he was abusive to his partners but I do believe he was one of the great actors of our time, especially in the early days.
Yes it’s awful when you hear stuff like that. Same for Sean Connery.... It kind of ruins the shine on them.
So true about how abusive he was
I did know that about him being abusive. That is not good but he was an amazing actor.
@@raquelf.1962 Well, how did you know? Were you there to witness?
Funny how that doesn't come.out until he's dead and can't defend himself, bs
If it's true take the man on while alive, yeah, not buying that ish
Caught this clip whilst I was rewatching broadcast news
She is amazing n copy cat is my fav movie of hers n home for the holidays.
love Holly Hunter .. haven't seen her in a while
Once I read her bio, the reason she sits on everybody's or most people's left is she can only hear through her right ear; 4:14 The phone in Broadcast News was held not for a typical right handed preference but rather the right side hearing purpose.
Holly is a brilliant actor. "Raising Arizona", "Always" (girl clothes!), so many others! She has a unique voice, excellent comic sensibility, and always ;-) gorgeous. Definitely a celebrity crush for me!
Girl clothes! It's the way you see me. Great movie.
Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby! Another great movie.
Love Holly Hunter!
Always loved Holly Hunter.
Very funny lady. And very pretty.
What a good #actress ... 👏
Love, love, love both Holly Hunter and William Hurt. Although he had his faults, it still brings tears to my eyes every time I hear about him these days. Kind of disappointed in her blurb regarding Hurt's passing. She must have her reasons though.
RIP.. So sad at 71 he was still much too young leave this world...
Helen Parr aka remembers her co-Star General Secretary Ross from Broadcast news
She looks good 👍🏽
She looks 60 ish Nothing new
@@Pinkielover She looks really good for 60 ish!
My fav of hers was Living Out Loud with Queen Latifa and Danny DeVito
Mine too
Holly and Bill also shared a birthday of March 20th
Ilove Holly Hunter. Great, great actress. I finally got to see the movie The Piano. Wow, not what I expected at all, which is great because I love unpredictable movies. A lot more adult content then I thought the movie would have. Not PG rated that's for sure, but these days maybe I'm wrong about that?
The first 3 movies I saw William Hurt in were all great. Altered States in'80, Body Heat in '81, and The Big Chill in '83. I remember thinking this guy really knows how to pick winners and of course casting directors saw something in him. Gordy Park was good as well. Then his career seemed to stall and I heard it was because he was difficult to work with Wasn't there a story of a stunt man or extra punching him?
Also both actors couldnt pass on roles in legendary Bonie & Clyde mini series
I love the idea of not being on social media at all. That is my future happiness.
Holly seems so my kind of person.
Grace Anadarko is my spirit animal.
"Bobby, Bobby, Bobby, Bobby, Bobby".
Haven't watched Mr. Mayor yet, but my head canon is that this is the life Michael is leading on Earth as a human, lol.
Mrs incredible
Excellent actress, terrible interview.
I agree. Terrible interview.
Agree; three "morning show" interviewers whose producers squish their interviews into mere minutes and then ... on to the next one! Ms Hunter sat quietly, little make up, modestly and gracefully dressed and simply states she chooses to refrain from endlessly mindless Google/Instagraming. Interesting how the three seem to agree -- so, try it yourself, eh? It was like watching a swan rather clumsily hugged by three bears.
@@catheriam1945 yes and she, like other intelligent actors can barely stand to go on these gossipy shows like this & endure the phoniness BUT its part of the job
And Bill and Ted Danson were in great movie body heat together
Holly your hair looks so good that length and still blond
I wondered why Seth Meyers didn't mention it to her. She talked about Hurt on The Today Show.
For those who haven't watched the video yet : she "opens up" for approximately ten seconds at the end.
😍😍
Glad to see that she looks more like Herself in this interview than on her new program. The pressure these actresses must feel…
The Power of the Dog is a great masterpiece and should have won Best Film. Hands down.
OMG I love silly! That's why I love "The Good Bandit" on Netflix, best comic series along with "Newly Rich/Newly Poor" by the same writer/director. Comedy genius from Colombia. I can't wait to see Holly in this.
Gee "Martha", thanks for letting us all know about your totally genuine reviews on behalf of Netflix. *eye roll*
@@jmcg9443 Gee, "J McG" you are so welcome. Yes, I do find Colombian comedies among the best. You're so sweet. I appreciate your appreciation. eye roll.
@@marthawoodworth Thanks Netflix. I mean Martha.
It disgusts me to remember that I keep forgetting that I love Holly Hunter!
And Ted Danson's wife , Mary Steenburgen, too.
I like William Hurt... Broadcast...
William Hurt died! I loved him. Holly is my heroine.
Used to love Holly Hunter, but hadn’t heard from her or seen her in anything in so long.
She looks the same but older.
So where is the part about William Hurt being a serial woman beater? Anyone?
in the past, not a long enough to say everything. Books I assume have it.
This was so uncomfortable to watch. Why do we need three people to interview one person?
no one wanted to be left out, or it's contractual. But it's not good.
I guess it was a bit awkward. I dunno. I was just glad to see and hear Holly. She's terrific.
The loss of William hurt
Appears she had a different relationship w/Hurt, and he did, HURT!
She said she felt safe with him. Lucky her. The abused women surely didn’t feel safe with him.
Holly Hunter is a terrific actress; I enjoyed her very much in “Broadcast News” and in “The Piano.” She’s obviously a very attractive woman and I love her appealing Georgia accent.
By the way, does “Today” show host Craig Melvin suffer from a perpetual case of laryngitis? The guy always sounds so hoarse and gravelly, And, for a man in his forties, isn’t Craig Melvin a little too old for the stud earring “look”? (Maybe Craig received his distinctive earring from the eternally-youthful Harrison Ford?)
Oh, yes, Bill was such a wonderful guy! Abuser, controller, etc., etc. Being a great actor doesn't make him a great person. I've been with an abuser. I know what it's like and I'm lucky I can talk about it!
If so and I wasn't privy to his day to day, then I believe he may have evolved later. I'm sorry for your experiences though.
Did you know him personnaly ????
I've always thought her and Jodie Foster sound alike.
I knew a guy who thought Jodie Foster was the voice of Elastigirl.
good catch. Close.
